Fandom Post Office: Wednesday, 4/24

Annette felt and looked like hell. Literally. Wasn't enough that she was beaten up, put in the clinic, but her Spy Tech final ~~which is currently being played what fun! woot woot!~~ wore her the crap out.

When she walked into the post office, it was to find Gladys standing on top of the sorting engine. Her arms were akimbo and she was staring down.

"Gladys? What are you doing?"

"The Sorting Engine Coughed. It Did Not Hiccup. It Coughed. I'm Going To Catch Who's Doing It."

Annette blinked.

"Not Tiddles Attack You Again, Miss Annette?"

"No. A demon did. I think. Be careful up there, okay Gladys?"

"You Bet I Will."

Annette turned and walked out towards the front counter. She didn't see Not Tiddles anywhere. Which could be a good thing or a bad, depending. Annette wouldn't dwell on it. She stuck a large jar of lollypops on the counter and sat down in an oversized chair. She was sure someone would ring the bell did they need assistance.

Billy came in with a letter to mail. And then he felt guilty upon seeing Annette for not seeking her out earlier to see how she was doing.

"Hi, Billy." Annette said from behind the counter. She had tied a bright pink scarf around her head to cover the bandage. Hopefully she didn't look too dorky.

"Hi. How are you? Sorry for not finding you earlier and asking."

"Pfft. No worries, Billy." She smiled at him. "I'm okay, it's nothing. But I'm really appreciative of the fact that you cared enough to stop by and ask, or are you in need of my special postal services today?"

"Well I'm glad I ran into you finally." he said. "But I do have mail to...well, mail."

"I'm glad you did too, Billy. You're visit has made my day cause I can't seem to find Not Tiddles." she said, looking around. "Oh. Mail. Right. Whatcha got for me to send on it's way?"

"A letter to one of my past foster parents, by way of the Agency Office." he said, handing the envelope over. "Who's Not Tiddles?"

She took the envelope and stared down at it. "Who? Oh. That would be the resident cat. She's got definite attitude."

"Cats generally do I hear. Is she missing?"

"Probably just lost in the sorting engine or something." Or maybe snoozing from the rum I slipped in her water. Hee.

"So, how's thing going with Ami lately?"

"Is that safe? Oh, me and Ami are doing good. We're gonna go to that movies in the park thing tonight."

"Is what safe?" Annette had had a trying morning, plus she was doped up on pain killers.

"Movies in the park. You're a great boyfriend, Billy. Last time I got asked out was for Prom." She sniffed and sighed and leaned over on the counter a little.

"The cat in the sorting thing." He winced. "Geeze I'm sorry. Do I need to beat someone up?"

"Oh." She waved her hand. "Maybe one great big furball will come out of it. Wouldn't that be something."

Frowning, she pressed her chin into her palm, "Uhhhh, no. I guess I'm just a loser." And at that, she made an L with her thumb and forefinger and slapped it to her forehead, grinning.

Billy snickered. "What the hell was that?"

"Hmm? You talking about my loser sign? You can borrow it sometime if you want. Not that I think you are a loser, cause you're not. Just saying."

"I've never seen that before. It's cute."

She grinned, "Thanks Billy. I just wish it wasn't true."

"I don't think you're a loser." he assured her.

"Thanks, Billy. There might be a couple people who would willingly disagree with you."

"That's because they're losers."

"Aw, you should be riding a white horse Billy and wearing shiny armor." Annette said, grinning sweetly.

Billy laughed. "Oh, I don't know about that." he said. "For one thing I've never ridden a horse. And I don't know if I'm that much of a goodguy."

Which made her grin like crazy. "Yes, you are a good guy. I bet I could trust myself completely with you." She was tired, okay? Her thought process might not be dead on.

"Do they have horses on this island? I'll take you horse riding one day, Billy. It's fun."

Actually she could. Probably. "I don't think so." he said. "But I'm not sure. Only one I knew of was Pippi's."

"Yeah, I meat Old Man once. Pretty horse. Hmm. Might have to check about the horse thing."

"There's always the mainland. I bet there's something not too far away."

"Oh, we ought to really go and do that Billy, maybe we could double date. I wouldn't want Ami upset at me for stealing you for the day."

"I have no idea whether she knows how to ride horses, but that does sound fun." Billy made a mental note to start looking for other places that people might like to go.

She nodded. "I love riding. It is such a free feeling."

"Is it hard to learn?"

"Nope. You're not afraid of horses are you?"

"I don't think so." he said. "Never had much to do with them though."

"Then, you'll be fine! And we'll have lots and lots of fun." She beamed at him.

I'll have you spending all you got...

I want one of those big huge Disneyland suckers that take a whole freakin' year to eat.
