Book Haven; Saturday [ 10-2 ]

Alphonse woke up knowing he took up the BIG BIG task of looking over the bookstore today for a little while.

He knew there was something about tea and hot chocolate that were supposed to be put out for customers, but he didn't know how to make those! Alphonse fretted a little and hoped that both no one would mind and he wouldn't get in trouble for that. Besides, why did that matter? There were books. EVERYWHERE.

Alphonse grabbed the biggest interesting book he could find in the store, and... well, he was too short for the counter, now, so now he was plopped on the floor beside the counter, reading. Surprisingly, he was still able to understand some of the huge book he picked out, but at other times was frowning at stuff he couldn't.

The store was open for all your weetiny book needs. And if you weren't weetiny... just your book needs.

Demyx bounded into the bookstore and glanced around. Not seeing Al, he shouted his question to the store in general. "DO YOU HAVE MUSIC PAPER?!"

"Why?" Demyx demanded. "It's just a store. It's not like I gotta worry 'bout the Superior gettin' mad at me or nothin'." He folded his arms, trying to look important.

"So? They'll get over it!" Demyx replied cheerfully. "But I need music paper. Do you have any?"

"Yeah. Like for writing music. It comes in booklets." Demyx gestured. "About this big."

((ooc: augh work! back later x_X))

"That might help," Demyx agreed. "Where's the music stuff? I've never been in one of these bookstore thingies before." He looked around himself at all the books everywhere. "Do people really read all those? That's so boring."

"Music is way better than boring ol' books," Demyx insisted. "And it doesn't smell like dust, either." He sneezed, emphasizing his point.

"Mm...I think I'm good!" Demyx grinned, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Thanks!"

After her training was finished, Setsuna wanted to play a little bit, and was thinking that she wanted to play with Alphonse and went looking everywhere for him until remembering that oh! He was probably at the bookstore! Her frustration at her search was the reason for her exasperated sigh as she finally came into the shop and found him there, of course. How silly of her to not remember!

"Alphonse-kun! There you are!"

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Setsuna blushed a little, because it was a really good point, and she felt silly for not realizing it sooner. "Dunno...." she said quietly. And then got over it and went over to where he was, plopped down beside him, and leaned in toward the book. "What're you reading?"

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2007-04-28 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Setsuna looked very, very impressed, and smiled in bright admiration that Alphonse could make sense of all those funny looking letters that she couldn't read despite having no problems speaking the language. It did have pretty pictures, too, and she appriciated that. "What's that say?" she asked, leaning in and pointing at something on the page.

Setsuna head tilted as she listened closely to Alphonse explaining the conversions, and she ended up leaning on him a little. "I should go find a book about sword," she said. "And then I can teach you about them like you're teaching me about chemisty."

"Look! I have mine with me!" Setsuna pulled her bokken out from where it was tucked in the straps of her hamaka and showed it off proudly to Alphonse.

Setsuna giggled a little and, in response to him poking the bokken, went to poke Alphonse with it but stopped before it reached him. She looked around for any senseia around that would yell at her for practising improper handling of a weapon. "Jus' the bokken," she told him. "I'm still too little for live steel yet." She pouted a little at that.

"Alphonse-kuuun," Setsuna smiled at him. "I promise I won't break anything. I am a trained warrior, and know how to use my sword without putting people...or books...in danger." She nodded assuringly.
