The Perk, Sunday evening

Angel had coffee, he had his dog, he'd made some handwavey phonecalls to let people know where to meet him -

If only he had music and rhythm. Then he could ask for nothing more.

Actually he was content with the whole coffee/dog/friends thing.

"Hey, I've got plenty of time," Angel said. "Just keep me posted. That way I'll know when to kidnap you."

"Of course," he said. "I'm sticking around for one session of the summer term but then we'll be in Massachusetts. You'll be the first to get the new numbers."

"Gonna get a place together when you're there?" Angel asked.

"Already got one," he said. "Well, at least we will when the person living there now moves out."

"Wow, you planned ahead," Angel said. "I'm impressed."

"Yeah," he said, blushing a little. "I just didn't wanna spring it all on her at one time and make her have a panic attack."

"Makes sense," Angel said. "Besides, you should only do this once. Savor every step."

"Yeah," he agreed. "Still gotta figure out what she's gonna do when we get there. I'll have school. I can't see her just hanging out all day and watching talk shows."

"She's not going to school?" Angel asked, surprised.

He shook his head. "I think she's done with school. For now."

Angel shrugged and took a sip of his coffee. "It's not for everybody. Look at me. 'course I'm not going to marry you."

"And damn, here I was, so hoping we could be together!"

"Blame Aeryn for getting to you first."

John nodded, agreeing. "Yeah, I'm ruined forever. Sean gets to be ring bearer. I decided that."

Sean barked at the mention of his name.

"Can he wear a bow tie?" Angel asked, probably WAY too into the idea of dressing up the dog.

"Hi Sean!" John said, leaning down to give him pets. "And he should!"

Sean licked John's face.

"It's settled," Angel said. "I'm best man, Sean's your ring bearer, Aeryn's the bride - what more could a guy ask for?"

"Nothing," he admitted and gave Sean a hug. "I think Rory'll end up maid of honor too once Aeryn finds out she needs to have one."

Now Angel looked scared.

"I kinda don't want to know what Aeryn would be like as a bridezilla."

He laughed and said, "She didn't even know what that was until today. I think you can worry not about that."

"She doesn't strike me as the type to get obsessive about pew bows," Angel agreed.

"I don't even think she'd do the ceremony if she didn't know it was important to me," he said.

"Any idea of what you'd like?" Angel asked. "You thinking Church?"

"Actually, no," he said. "I'm thinking maybe outside somewhere."

"Gonna get the Mountie to do your vows?" Angel teased. "I hear he's popular for that."
