The Perk, Sunday evening

Angel had coffee, he had his dog, he'd made some handwavey phonecalls to let people know where to meet him -

If only he had music and rhythm. Then he could ask for nothing more.

Actually he was content with the whole coffee/dog/friends thing.

Bel nodded. "Could help you, too," he said.

"You know you're welcome," Angel said. "But could you honestly spend even 12 hours in the same building with Logan without the building being destroyed?"

It's not that Anders had been lurking outside or anything, really. No, he'd just happened to be passing by the Perk, and noticed Bel and Angel in there.

It's not that he was in any way jealous, either. That had absolutely nothing to do with his reasons for walking in, laying a big, showy kiss on Bel, and then fleeing like hell.

No, really.

Bel flailed and turned bright, bright red. He was going to kill Anders later.

Angel took a long sip of his coffee as he took all this in.

"So," he said, conversationally, "how much to keep me from telling Anakin or Logan all about that?"

Bel buried his face in his hands. "The whole school knows already anyway," he said in a muffled voice. "It's a recent thing. Well. Kinda recent."

"As a reminder," Angel said, "I know exactly how recent it was."

Bel turned even more red, if it was possible. He coughed and cleared his throat. "He and Phoebe got close while I was dead. And he doesn't hold what the Source did to him against me."

"If you're happy, I'm happy for you," Angel said.

"It's going good so far," Bel said. "It's kind of a new thing for all of us. But I'm sure you don't want to know the details."

"I'm good with what I've got," Angel assured him.

"So, what's new with you?" Bel said, eager to change the subject.

"My best friend's having a threesome."

Angel was such a guy sometimes.

"Jealous?" Bel said, only half-joking.

"Anders isn't my type," Angel replied.

Once again, Bel bit his tongue to stop himself from saying "But I am?" Instead, he said, "Kinda surprised myself there, too."

"Don't get me wrong," Angel said. "He's a nice enough guy. Just not for me."

Then, again because he was such a guy, he grinned and added, "Now Phoebe on the other hand..."

"Not for you, either," Bel said quickly.

Bel smirked. "What are you going to do about it?" he said.

"Say I'm happy for you," Angel said. He reached over to clap Bel on the shoulder. "Which I am."

"Thanks," Bel said. He chuckled. "Would've thought two years ago when we first got here that we'd end up like this?"

"Not me," Angel said. "But I'm proud of you."

"I'm proud of you, too," Bel said. "You're like my inspiration."

"I have better hair, too," said the vamp who was oh so comfortable taking a true compliment.
