The Devil's Nest, Monday Night

For the first time in a week, the Devil's Nest was open for business once again.

Lucifer supposed he ought to let his employees know that they weren't in fact out of a job, but that could wait. He was celebrating how his business trip had gone with a bottle of champagne. He might even be in a good enough mood to share the alcohol with his customers.

Might.

Did someone say champagne?

Please, as if Wilson could miss out on that, particularly after Phale came home with a certain bit of news.

The doctor's expression definitely brightened when he saw the bubbly and he made a beeline for the bar, dark eyes making a careful study of the man shaped being behind the bar.

Yes, he might have been looking for unauthorized holes.

"You appear to be in one piece," Wilson said, just barely managing to curb the mother hen tone.

Sliding up onto a bar stool, Wilson reached for his glass of bubbly and after one last, concerned glance, the corners of his lips twitched playfully as he adopted a haughty 'I am doctor I am right' pose with his nose.

"Well, I guess it's possible you might survive without following my fine advice," he teased in return.

Ahyep, tiny bubbles right up the nose.

Wilson choked and flailed, just managing to get the glass safely back down to the bar before he bent double coughing.

Nothing like inhaling your champagne.

"Fine," Wilson managed to squeak as he finished clearing the champagne out of his airway and straightened back up, his eyes a bit damp from where he'd been coughing.

"Uh, so...good trip?"

Wilson absolutely did not blush!

He was just a bit pink in the cheeks as a result of his coughing jag.

Really.

....

Honest.

....

shutup

"A wasteland?" Wilson asked curiously, thinking about how Phale had ended up nude down in the Wastelands when they'd gone down to save Bel.

"Like another version of Hell?" Wilson asked with a curious expression in his dark eyes.

He recognized that there was a lot in the Celestial landscape that his mortal mind might never be able to completely comprehend, not the way Phale could understand but that didn't dampened his curious enthusiasm to know more about the world so far removed from his own.

Didn't mean Wilson was going to stop coming after it with the full desire to understand.

"Izanami?"

The question was asked with his full focus on Lucifer, the champagne flute gently held in lean fingers, the tips lightly brushing the stem in an absent gesture.

Lifting the champagne glass in an acknowledging gesture, Wilson sipped at the cool liquid in a thoughtful manner.

"You're probably right, though that shouldn't surprise me. Uh, I mean the sharing bit not the...well, okay the your being right also, oh you know what I mean."

Wilson waved off his own tripping words with a pass of his hand and crossed his arms on the bar.

"Given the shared philosophies through all the different organized religons that mankind likes to build it's wars upon, it would only make sense that there is a root familial tie between the mythologies."

"It's always about power," Wilson said thoughtfully and he frowned slightly.

After a couple of breaths he looked back up at Lucifer and the corner of his lips twitched as dark eyes flash narrowed and then brightened impishly.

"Dancing." He said, tossing back the remainder of the champagne in his glass.
