The Devil's Nest, Monday Night
For the first time in a week, the Devil's Nest was open for business once again.
Lucifer supposed he ought to let his employees know that they weren't in fact out of a job, but that could wait. He was celebrating how his business trip had gone with a bottle of champagne. He might even be in a good enough mood to share the alcohol with his customers.
Might.

The Bar
Re: The Bar
Please, as if Wilson could miss out on that, particularly after Phale came home with a certain bit of news.
Re: The Bar
Lucifer looked up when the doctor entered the club, placing a glass of the sparkling wine on the bar for him.
Re: The Bar
Yes, he might have been looking for unauthorized holes.
"You appear to be in one piece," Wilson said, just barely managing to curb the mother hen tone.
Re: The Bar
"So it would seem. Though I'm afraid to say that I was unable to wear a sweater on the trip," Lucifer teased.
Re: The Bar
"Well, I guess it's possible you might survive without following my fine advice," he teased in return.
Re: The Bar
And yes, he did wait until Wilson had started to take a sip to say that.
Re: The Bar
Wilson choked and flailed, just managing to get the glass safely back down to the bar before he bent double coughing.
Nothing like inhaling your champagne.
Re: The Bar
Re: The Bar
"Uh, so...good trip?"
Re: The Bar
"As good as could be expected," Lucifer replied, filling Wilson's champagne flute. He smirked before explaining, "It was a realm where no cloth, or metal, or stone from another realm could exist."

The Dance Floor
Re: The Dance Floor
"Are you implying, you would follow my lead?" Wilson asked, arching a challenging eyebrow at the Prince of Hell, dark eyes positively glittering with rich, genuine amusement.
Re: The Dance Floor
Re: The Dance Floor
Nodding to the Advesary, Wilson took Lucifer's hand and set the frame for the classic Paso Doble (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paso_Doble).
He thought that Lucifer might appreciate the story within the dance as well as it's classic lines and quick footwork. Given the Prince of Hell's size vs Wilson's own, it was possible that they might forgo some of the more intricate spins of the cape across the floor.
Wilson was feeling high spirited. Not stupid.
Re: The Dance Floor
Lucifer waited for the music to start, pressing in close to Wilson to play the role of the cape in this dance. Perhaps another time they would try this with his wings out to get the proper look.
Re: The Dance Floor
Part of the fun of the paso doble was getting into the roles, the dance as much about the fierceness of the lead from the bullfighter as it was about the whip and turn of the cape and though he had a couple moments of wtfamIdoing Wilson quickly fell into his role.
Maintaining a strong, but not punishing, grip on Lucifer's hand, Wilson signaled to the Advesary in the split seconds before he spun his partner in close, or otherwise executed a bit of tricky footwork, while their frames were tight together.
He could return the courtasy shown during his birthday dance and keep them off each other's toes, while not sacrificing a moment of the speed and complexity of the graceful dance.
Re: The Dance Floor
It was an interesting role to be in.
Re: The Dance Floor
Also, this was supposed to be fun, light and enjoyable for both partners and Wilson was careful to catch and guide the Advesary in such a way as to make it more inviting for Lucifer to relax and trust him if he was willing.
Re: The Dance Floor
Lucifer pressed up close to him, breaking the lead. One leg hooked up around Wilson's thigh into a pose. He leaned in to whisper in the mortal's ear in the small pause, "Are you going to lead or are you going to just gently push me about the dance floor?"
Re: The Dance Floor
So, Lucifer was going to make him work for it. It was perhaps, foolish to accept the devil's challenge but backing down would be weakness and while Wilson was willing to be Graceful in accepting his mortal limitations, he wasn't going to whimp out of something he had initiated.
Leading Lucifer back off his thigh, Wilson went from a heel/flat step, up onto the balls of his feet, into the more energetic form of the dance. He closed the angle between their bodies, bringing them close together so that the swift steps had to be spot on or they risked tripping each other up, but what was life without a little risk, right?
In no way was he rough but his leads began to snap, from step to step as he commanded Lucifer into the spins, twirls and sweeping dips, often taking both of the Advesary's hands as the cape was swept, artfully outwards, only to drop one hand and catch Lucifer by the waist, twirling him back in close to Wilson's own body in between the flashy poses. When they were caught close, Wilson used the guiding leads of his own hips and shoulders against Lucifer's frame.
Re: The Dance Floor
He was careful to keep up with the steps, not interfering with Wilson's footwork and gracefully weaving in between them as they danced. The forcefulness necessary in the dance to get it right always drew him to be the lead, but now...
He could get used to this
