The Park - Late Tuesday Morning 5/15
After leaving Lucifer's apartment, Wilson had headed straight home, arriving just in time to catch and hold Aziraphale as the angel experienced a nightmare ... or whatever it was angels experienced. It had been a long night of fitful dozing broken by more nightmares and Wilson had been genuinely grateful to see the dawn peek over the horizon.
What he had not been grateful for were the number of eggs left around by Phale's library!
A brief discussion determined that Aziraphale would stay and take care of the egg situation while Wilson took his coffee and headed out to the park to enjoy some of the warm May sunshine.
So, that is what he was doing. Stretched out on a tartan blanket, Wilson was surrounded by ducks -funny how that happens when you feed them- sipping his coffee and taking in some fresh air.
[ooc: Open as parks tend to be!]

She just smiled, and her arm sharply shot out to point to the west. "That way!"
"We've been that way already."
"It's that way, Ken-chan! I know it!"
He went over to a tree and slid down its trunk until he was sitting. "We take a break for now." And possibly then try to find Yachiru a damn map.

So in the interest of being neighborly, he smiled and waved to them.
"Good morning."
no subject
Yachiru, on the other hand. "Good morrrrrrrning!" she called out brightly, leaning forward against Kenpachi's head a little as she waved excitedly.

His attention was drawn to the brightly bouncing one and his smile grew into a soft chuckle as he was affected by her natural exhuberance.
"Indeed it is! I'm afraid that I don't think we've met. I'm Dr. James Wilson."

Then he chuckled ruefully and shook his head.
"Unless you're a denizen of Hell trying to eat me, I make it a point not to get into altercations with people I've just met. I'm a doctor, not a fighter."
no subject
Yachiru's mouth made a little 'o' and she shook her head. Not a fighter. That was saddening to her and it showed in her face. "That's too bad, Doctor No-Fighty."
no subject
"I'd say I'm sorry, except I think you'll find there is plenty of oppertunities for fighting on this island, at least it seems that way when I'm busy patching people up in the aftermath."

Leaning back on his hands, Wilson pursed his lips thoughtfully, his expression clouding a bit since his own philosophy ran counter to this gentleman.
"Some of them are exemplary. They have a wide range of skill sets coming here to fandom and a deep well of experience that gives each other them a quick mind and a resourceful level of imagination. Many are skilled with firearms, bladed weapons, hand to hand, magical weaponry, it's a wide range. Though there are an equal number of students who have never known violence and would be considered complete novices."

His head straightened again. Well, technically...they were gods. Huh.
"I hope, then, their sense of preservation is strong. Or that you're skilled in what you do, Doctor." He grinned.
no subject
"Err, yes well. Do you know your class list? I've taught a handful of the students all ready last year and could maybe give you a quick run down on their talents if I recognize the names."
no subject
"Nope!" she did a little twirl on her toe in the grass.
"Do we care?"
"Nope!"
Kenpachi redirected his gaze pointedly toward Wilson. "If they're worth knowing, they'll make me know them on Thursday when we meet."
no subject
...
No, he really wished Jamie was in summer session but as he wasn't he simply smiled and gave a nod of his head.
"Very well then."

"Good morning," he said with a friendly smile and a wave.
no subject
"Oh dear," Millie said, a bit ruefully. "She does tend to make herself at home. I do hope you don't mind."
no subject
"Don't mind in the least. It's a beautiful day and the more people out to enjoy it the better. I'm afraid we haven't met, I'm Dr. James Wilson."
no subject
She blushed a little. "Oh my, do forgive me, I'm not generally quite so forward. It's just that ever since he mentioned it I've been thinking how delightful it might be to go so fast."
Proudfoot ignored the entire exchange and simply butted up against Wilson's hand to demand her fair share of petting.
no subject
"Yes, Aziraphale is my..." Wilson trailed off a little because she'd used the term friend and Wilson realized that might mean she either wasn't aware or didn't wish to be aware of the true nature of the relationship between the pair.
"He's my friend and I'd be more than happy to take you for a drive."
no subject
"But, oh goodness me, I should be delighted to go for a ride at some time. Cars in my time are rather noisy, smelly things with quite a bumpy ride, but Aziraphale assures me things are quite different here."
Proudfoot couldn't care less about the conversation or the sexual preferences of people as long as they continued to pet her.
no subject
"I'm sorry, I ... it's fairly common knowledge that he and I are lovers but when you said friend I wasn't sure how ... I mean, I know there are still places and times where our relationship would not be comfortable conversation for someone so..."
Stammer, stammer, handwave.
Pausing, he looked over at her and grinned warmly.
"I'm sorry, I was making assumptions. Aziraphale is quite right that cars have come a long way in the past 80 or so years."
no subject
She fanned her reddening face. "Quite, quite outside the scope of anything I was familiar with."
no subject
Wilson found his words trailing off and he was left making awkward hand gestures before giving his head a shake and trying to move the subject along.
"Ah, so, you've met Aziraphale then?"
no subject
Millie smiled widely, grateful for the subject change. "Aziraphale, yes! He's such a dear. He's going to be working for me at least over the summer. And it is such a relief to know that at least one of my employees understands how to make a proper cup of tea!"
no subject
"You're the owner of the bookshop."
Yes, every so often Wilson did have to take a moment and state the obvious.
no subject

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Proudfoot and Millie, you'll probably get tired of finding me underfoot at the bookstore when Aziraphale is on the job."
