Xander, eating breakfast so late it was brunch because hey whaddya know, his electric alarm clock didn't go off this morning, could be found at a table by the window. He was eating discounted cinnamon rolls, drinking iced coffee and pretending he wanted it like that, and checking e-mail the hard way - by cellphone.

After talking to Willow for a while, Bridge heads out to town in search of breakfast-like things. Coincidentally, when he peers in through the window at J,GOB he sees that not only does it have breakfast-like things, there are also Xander-shaped people. Awesome.

He orders a strawberry danish and an orange juice, and then sits down at Xander's table. "Hi," he grins.

Now I want a strawberry danish. Rarr.

"Morning." Xander slides over the plate of cinnamon rolls just in case Bridge wants to supplement his danishness. "My shower was very very cold today. Sadly not dirty."

At some point when Xander's not all boyfriendalicious Hannelore strode into J, GOB, looking panicked. "Does your coffee work on robots?" she asked the guy behind the counter, looking very much like she hadn't slept for several days.

He stared at her and shook his head.

"Crap. Can I have a large black coffee?" she asked.

The robot in the crook of her arm said, "I need to charge! I am only at 45% of my battery supply!"

Xander looked up. "Now would be a good time to apologize for not having installed some backup generators for the apartment building, huh."

"Mine too," Bridge says, happily taking a cinnamon roll. "Except I was still kinda asleep when I was taking it so I didn't even *notice*."

"It's not going to kill him or anything," Hannelore assured him. "It's just a pain in the ass because AnthroMacs sleep for like five hours. Hi!"

"Note to self: remove 'cold water' from list of Effective Ways To Wake Bridge Up."

"Sometimes we had training missions where the only water around *was* cold water," Bridge shrugs.

John came in with Zoe and, after a brief stop at the counter for coffee and an apple turnover for Zoe, they headed over to Xander's table. "Morning."

"...And you learned to sleep through your showers?"

"Well I wasn't *asleep* asleep, just not really awake enough to notice?" Bridge says.

"Hey!" Xander proffers his not entirely-demolished plate of cinnamon rolls. "I'd say maybe he could charge from my laptop? But I wasn't picking up wireless when I tried it this morning, so I didn't schlep it along."

Hannelore shakes her head at the pastries. "Who knows what could have happened to those between their baking and now." She sighs, taking her coffee from the clerk. "Oh, yay. Cold coffee. Just what I wanted."

"I do not wish to crash asleeeeeeeeeeeep!" Winslow wails.

"Morning." Xander looked up and smiled. "Principal Zoe! And...we haven't met, unless it was for five minutes, seven years ago." He searched his memory just to make sure, but came up empty.

"John Winchester," John said, holding out a hand to the younger man.

"Ah, gotcha." Xander nods and doesn't file that away for future sneakiness should the opportunity ever arise. "So anything interesting going on besides cold water? Which... is not all that interesting."

"Well. Uh. You know how people from different versions of your reality keep popping up?" Bridge says oh-so-casually.

"Please tell me some version of my Uncle Rory hasn't opened up a taxidermy shop on the island."

"But sleep is awesome," Xander tells him. "You can be a viking there!"

Xander stood and shook it, then pulled out a chair for Zoe, and indicated the empty one opposite him to John. "Professor Sam and Dean's Dad?" he asked with a grin.

"John's a lot easier to say," John said with a smile.

"Your kids, I've met. Before I left the island, so that was longer ago for me than it was for them." Xander thought back. "Sam and I talked monster-hunting shop."

"Really? It's usually Dean who wants to talk about hunting more than Sammy."

Wow, that was a long time ago from his POV, but Xander raked his memory over the coals. "I think I brought up flamingoes as a zombie-scaring device, and we ended up comparing what we knew about your various undead types. You guys don't exactly have the weetiny vampire problem my dimension has."

"No, we've managed to get the vampire problem under control. Just have all the other supernatural critter probelms to still deal with."
