Jaina was not quite herself today, so she would not be opening up the bar. On Monday she was going to have withdrawals from having gone this long without showing up to work.

Tino, however, was completely himself today, and he was looking oh so pleased about having to be here on a day everyone had gone insane again.

...Maybe he'd get a hookup from someone who didn't know any better. That made him feel better.

First shipment of the new year had arrived and John was carefully going through it. Most of it was stuff for sale, but there were also some books he'd been after for his own research into the Yellow Eyed Demon Problem, as well as some hunting supplies -- enough for his own occasional hunt as well as to restock Dean and Alec the next time they came to visit. It made him feel better if he could make sure his boy had everything he needed while he was out there hunting without him.

It was a new term as well and so John had put the HELP WANTED sign back in the window.

The Magic Box was open.

The day his eldest was coming home for a visit and John was stuck at the shop because of an unscheduled delivery. How did he get into this owning a business thing again?

He was doing his best to get it all put away and organized as quickly as he could so he could get home. In the meantime though, the Magic Box was open.
[identity profile] demons-death.livejournal.com
John was actually pausing in his demon research today to go over the shop's books. It wasn't exactly his favorite pastime, and it hadn't been even back in the days when he had the auto shop and didn't know what went bump in the night. Still it had to be done, and so here he was, elbows deep in invoices, orders and receipts.

There was a sign in the front window advertising for HELP WANTED. Maybe he would get lucky and someone would apply who had bookkeeping experience.

The Magic Box was open.

John was doing inventory today. Because it needed to be done. It was in no way an effort to distract himself from the fact that his eldest was leaving tomorrow.

Nope, not at all.

John was in the shop, organzing the latest shipment and being quietly grateful that nothing in it or his house had turned human.

As it was he'd heard the radio and knew that the impala was running around with Dean and he didn't let that train of thought get any further. He knew Dean loved that car -- and had since he was a baby -- but John was going to pretend that it was in a very platonic sort of way.

And this was something he totally didn't think he'd ever have to try and repress.

So he concentrated on unpacking boxes of charms and setting up new sales displays. There was still a help wanted sign in the window but he was going to make sure if anyone came to fill it that they were human longer than just yesterday.

The Magic Box was open.

Zoe was getting caught up on principal type paperwork so John had brought Grace with him to the shop today.

Some people would probably have had something to say about letting his 23 month old build a tower out of the curse boxes that were in stock, but they were empty and therefore harmless, and not easily breakable like, say the crystal balls. And it was keeping her quiet so as far as John was concerned she could use them as blocks as long as she wanted.

Zoe had been busy with the welcome picnic yesterday and with the events of the past week, both of them were a little twitchy about taking Grace out, especially where there was going to be crowds, so John had stayed home with her and postponed his shift at the Magic Box until today. You could do things like that when you were in charge. He still wasn't quite sure how he managed to get in that position, but he wasn't complaining.

He opened the shop up that morning as usual and added a HELP WANTED sign to the window. Then he settled in behind the counter with a cup of coffee and a book of prophecies on demons that Bobby had brought him last week.

John had been up bright and early and off to the shop so hadn't noticed yet that there were a number of small people running around that weren't usually there.

How long his state of blissful ignorance would last was open for debate.

[ooc: open, especially for any wee ones, and most especially for wee ones he is related to.]

Magic Box Saturday

John had spent much of the week researching and being the parent at home with Grace while Zoe had to be out doing Principal things as they didn't want to risk taking the toddler out admidst the zombies. The fact that in the past John may have made different decisions was not something he was exactly proud of.

But Zoe was staying at home with Grace today and John was heading out to the Magic Box to check if there's more things they could use there and to make sure the business was still standing. He was armed to the teeth and if he happened to encounter some zombies either on the way or at the shop, well, there was nothing like a little empirical research to determine the best way of getting rid of a zombie.

The Magic Box was open.

[ooc: open, to both humans and any zombies who may want to encounter the Winchester. ;) ]

John came into the store this morning with a hot cup of coffee and no idea that the number of children on the island had suddenly increased exponentially.

So he calmly sat down with his journal behind the counter, waiting for any customers.

The odds that he would make it through the day still unawares? Yeah, pretty damn low.
[identity profile] demons-death.livejournal.com
John was in a much better mood today than he would have been at this time yesterday. It was amazing what a night of adult extrracurricular activities could do for a man's outlook on life.

He may have even been whistling a little as he opened the shop but he'd deny it if called on it.

[identity profile] demons-death.livejournal.com
John was a little late in getting to the shop because of distractions brought on by his and Zoe's celebration of Valentine's Day. It was also why he was in such a good mood that he may have been whistling a little as he opened the door.

Since it was Zoe's birthday tomorrow, they had decided to not do anything too big today and leave the celebrating for then, but breakfast in bed had seemed like a small enough observance of the day. And one thing can always lead to another and the next thing John knew he was smiling dopily as he was late for work.

He got everything ready and switched the store sign from CLOSED to OPEN, then went about doing a little restocking. The texts on demons he was resolutely leaving alone. Some things were more important than even that hunt and he was putting it on hold for this weekend to concentrate on them.

It had been a long time since John had worked in a store as something other than a cover and then it was a garage, but he figured the basics were the same.

He opened up the store in no way late at all, checked over the stock, then settled down behind the counter with the demon text he'd picked up earlier in the week and his journal, taking notes.

Up with the sun, Kael'thas had actually deigned to go in to his store today, only to find himself with a resignation in the till and a box of miscellaneous texts and grimoires just arrived from a supplier.

The resignation was regrettable, the books were heavy - Kael folded the letter and put it aside, already directing books to their respective sections. What else had he missed, distracted as he had been this past while?

Luke paced around the perimeter of the pond, brain frantically trying to come up a way to salvage the complete fiasco Jaina's wedding had turned into.

The press wouldn't cover it, of course--there were benefits to owning most of the newspapers in the region--but the Winchesters would never, ever stop holding this over their heads.

There had to be a way to recover their honor. The nunnery hadn't worked before, but maybe it would now. Luke would call his sister--Jaina and Brooke's mother--but she was off with one of her numerous boytoys and was out of contact.

He'd have to come up with a plan himself. He was a Skywalker. They were good at this stuff.

Okay, okay, so Buffy had slacked off yesterday. But there was unpacking to do and she really didn't want to spend her first night in a new town checking for evil things and creepy crawlies... Wait, creepy crawlies were bugs. Okay, none of those, but her point stood!

But with talk of minotaurs and opening up the Underworld and there was a unicorn for a student, she knew today she had to drag herself out to patrol. As soon as it got dark, Buffy was out, walking around town with a few concealed stakes on her, and by the way, it was so much more convenient to store her weapons somewhere not her room where her roommate might stare at her. And if nothing else, this was a good way to get the lay of the land, so to speak. And find out where to get coffee.

[Totally open, and she's covering as much of town as possible.]

Town Hall was still effectively the center of command as those in charge waited for the away teams to return, and continued to form contingency plans for dealing with Hades. As one of the few safe places in town, no one was being sent away if they wanted to stay, as long as they didn't get in the way.

He'd only *meant* to go into town long enough to pick up doughnuts from J,GoB. But on his way to the bakery, he'd been struck with inspiration regarding his latest project and the problem regarding power consumption, so instead he'd taken a detour to the junkyard and then Turtle & Canary to pick up a few parts, and *then* he'd headed to J,GoB. Which is why he's now sitting at a table with a box of doughnuts, his ever-present project sketchbook, and assorted mechanical parts that he's spread haphazardly across the table. He's either ignoring or totally oblivious to the annoyed looks from the bakery staff who seem to think this isn't the most appropriate of places to be working on such things. Knowing Bridge, it's probably the latter.

Christian hated feeling this helpless. The number of patients were growing, and nothing was relieving their symptoms. Even the kids with their magic mumbo jumbo could only bring fevers down for a short time.

He didn't want to admit defeat, but things were not looking good.

This time the meeting wasn't in a temple on a far off island.  This time the meeting was in J, GOB which was oddly closed to everyone else.  Pastries and strategies.  Best combination ever (according to Deadpool at least).

Aly waited until everyone had arrived before she started speaking.  She was pale and moving a bit slowly, but that was all she was going to admit to.  "I think it's obvious to everyone that we've come to the end of the line here.  Umbridge needs to go.  She needs to go now.  She's stopped even pretending to protect the students or listen to the teachers.  She been hurting them with things far worse than minor curses and jinxes.  It needs to be over.

"So  Anakin and I were thinking an all-out strike on her house.  We'll need a fairly strong strike team of the fighters here who want to participate.  Only adults.  We don't need to wrap the students or even the graduates up in this.  We were also hoping for a support group of those who might not be quite so focused on fighting to form a perimeter around the house, ward away students if they come close or pull people out of the way or to the clinic if someone gets hurt.

"Other than that, the meeting's open for suggestions or comments.  Please keep this under your hat  It's only going to be a day or so, everyone can keep their mouth shut that long."

[OOC:  Meeting is for those adults/teachers who know who they are and NFB.  See the OCD threads below (wait for them!) for further information]

Sam was still nervous about going with Dean to tell their dad about what Umbridge was doing. But the latest morning announcements had proven that she was getting even crazier, and if Umbridge tried anything to keep Zoe from coming back...well, Sam didn't really want to think about that. Dean had the idea to ask their dad to come and meet them away from the house, so they could talk without Zoe overhearing. Now, it was just a matter of waiting for him to show up.

Apparently, Yitzhak should never let the busboy handle the resupply orders ever, ever again; this week's supply of canned foods had come in, and all of it was Spam.

. . . look, Yitzhak might have spent years on the road with a washed-out band, staying in the worst rathole motels ever and eating half-moldy three day old pizza out of the box, but even he had some standards. Sometimes. He'd kick you if you hinted as much, of course, but he did, dammit, and Spam was not on that list.

Well, they had to get rid of it somehow, and by the time a plan was formulated the cook hated the busboy about as much as Yitzhak did. They agreed on something, and that was scary. There would have to be drinking later. But for now . . .

Jaina still wasn't exactly sure why she had this job, except it got the owner to shut up. And upon finding out there was going to be a wedding reception here (and hey, didn't she meet Deadpool? she had no idea he was married), she really wasn't happy. Regardless, she set up the best she could, considering she'd never seen what a party here was supposed to look like.

She was trying to think of it in terms like "If this doesn't turn me to the dark side, I'm doing pretty good."

With the school still in ruins, the administration decided that the park would be the best place to hold the Welcome Picnic. Tables were set up with food, nametags, and plenty of glitter. There was also a sign up listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, in case anyone had missed it.
