refused2berescued: China Anne McClain as Uma, Daughter of Ursula (zzzCecaelia: Shrug)

With advance warning from Bobby, Uma had managed to avoid her so-called guests for the weekend. She didn't know what the hell Ben and the Fairy Godmother wanted her for and, honestly? She didn't care. She wasn't at their beck and call anyway.

Though that whole 'tried in absentia' thing didn't sound all that promising. It fact, it had unsettled her enough that this morning when she'd woken up, she'd headed down to the beach and immediately dove into the water, spending most of the day swimming far below the ocean surface, letting the water calm and soothe her. By mid-afternoon, she was relaxed enough to contemplate getting out of the water and getting some lunch. Bobby had said that the Fairy Godmother wanted to be gone by this morning, right? She'd probably outlasted them, ha! Another win for Uma!

That feeling of triumph hadn't lasted much past surfacing the water and seeing both Auradonians waiting for her, the magic wand being held like a divining rod in the Fairy Godmother's hands.

"Ha! I knew this would find her!" the Fairy Godmother announced. "There you are, you little hooligan! Come out and face the music!"

Yeah, Uma was no dope. Immediately, she turned to dive back under the waves. But Fair Godmother's magic wand wasn't the most powerful magical artifact in the United States of Auradon for a nothing. Before she could even properly dive, she was surrounded by a bubble of shimmery, sparkly blue magic that pulled her up out of the ocean and deposited her right back onto the beach.

"I don't think so, missy," Fairy Godmother told her, looking prim and smug at the exact same time. "You're gonna stay in that bubble until you're back on the Isle where you belong!"

[Technically it's still Sunday! In other, not-me timezones, sure, but still! Open? For all the SP ever though]

Maybe it was too soon, considering the level of trauma some people were dealing with, but Sabine needed to do this while the image was still clear in her head. Besides, it wasn't like a ton of people visited the warehouse district, so the number of people who'd stumble upon it would be minimal, probably.

And either way, Sabine was spending at least part of her day painting a giant Big Mouth Billy Bass on the side of a warehouse (not hers, of course), including the new inscription on his nameplate. It was more cartoonish than anything because that whole thing had been ridiculous, but it was definitely easy to tell what it was.

Look. It was what she did.

[If you think every BDE she's present for will get represented in paint somewhere in town, you're correct! If you ever want one on your building let me know.

Also, open!]
myownface: The rainbow Pride flag (Pride)

Thunderstorms on the mainland? Were there thunderstorms on the mainland? Because once again, the island had braced itself for a beautiful Pride weekend, and had gotten those thunderstorms out of the way early enough in the day that, when the sun came out to shine for the parade itself, it had also provided a beautiful rainbow, clear across the sky.

Regular meteorologial event with fortuitous timing, or Fandom being supportive? Who knew?

Like last year, the parade itself was to start on the Causeway, a good gathering point for Fandomites in the past, and a fairly central location on the island. From there it would follow Griffin Lane to Galactica Drive, Serendipity Place, Godiva Street, back onto Serendipity and following it until it turned into Loon and Loon turned into Chimera. Then one final turn onto Apocalypse before ending up at the Park, where people were welcome to sit and mingle to their hearts' content.

All in all, it was a lovely day for Fandom Island's second annual Pride parade!

[OOC: Open! Get your Pride on!]

What truly blessed miracle was this? Whatever it was that had caused the complete break in the weather, that banished the banks of snow as easily as though they were but illusions, that ushered in the warmer weather, chased away the cold, and inspired all these spectacular flowers to bloom, Sidon was certainly grateful for it! And he was not about to squander such a miracle, either. The moment he realized the winter weather had dissipated, even if only for the day (he certainly hoped it was here to stay, though), he knew what he had to do.

Into the water and around the island! But it was a little obvious after his second time around that the winter had put him in horrible shape, exhausting him by the time he rounded into the port to settle for a bit and just float, breathing in the fresh spring air, the salty water, the warming sun, and gave a sigh of happiness. He might be out of shape, but he was looking forward to getting back into fit swimming form again!

[[and of course it's open!]]
