Annie walked into an Issue today, wherein they were receiving a mystery shipment that... didn't appear to exist. As in, the guy came to deliver the stuff and there was nothing in the boxes.

It all made sense when the delivery guy explained that he was delivering a shipment of Sprite Zero, which of course, did not exist.

SPECIALS
Xermaauc

Annie was a little afraid the special didn't actually exist either.

Susan had been more than a little social this weekend- for her, anyway- but at least coming in to work tonight felt a little more routine.

If it hadn't apparently been the night of endless Bon Jovi. Not that Susan knew who Bon Jovi was or that she cared, but after a while she found herself getting really tired of hearing about Tommy and Gina.

The Devil's Nest was open.

Now firmly under the control of Mr. White, the Auditors were becoming a little... more coordinated. They had found some of their powers failing that morning, which was terrifying, but then Mr. White had given them that look and they had given in to their bodies' apprehensiveness and scurried off.

Now...

"We must learn more," Mr. White crowed loudly. "Most of the humans are in there." He pointed at the school. "That is a fact."

The hundreds of Auditors gathered in front of him nodded meekly.

"So we must study it from the inside," he continued, "This is also a fact."

Another unanimous nodding session.

"Those inhabiting the town are also of interest," he added, "Which is also a fact."

More nodding.

"They have proven hostile so far. Also a fact. That means we can only conclude one thing."

He held up the axe. A good chunk of the Auditors held up their own weapons, mostly because they didn't want to be singled out for another experiment.

"CHARGE!" Mr. White yelled.

The throat protested. Interesting.

Seven hundred Auditors charged through the streets of Fandom.

[[ ocd up! Have at! Note that after this, all of Fandom besides the school and dorms is gone, so be sure to read the OCD. Also, if you need an excuse to get your character out of the affected areas, the Auditors are everywhere and they're going to be very hard to miss. ]]

It probably shouldn't shock anyone that Hermione was feeling a little down after the weekend. She missed Ron and Harry already, and she'd be lying if she said there wasn't part of her that wondered if it might be about time to go home. But she meant what she'd told Harry. She was actually learning things from her job, things that she thought might end up being useful someday, and that kind of inspiration was something she shouldn't just leave behind.

This was easier to believe when she wasn't distracted away from all the files she was attempting to go through. Oops.

Jack hadn't had anyone visiting (or at least, he hadn't recognized anyone, and now he felt kind of bad wondering if maybe he had missed the eunuch or Mr. Gibbs if he'd taken a bath...)

He was behind the bar trying to alphabetize the various kinds of rum, humming along with the various accordion-music versions of pop hits that the DJ (who would probably be dead by morning...) was playing.

Jack was behind the bar cleaning the glassware--he wasn't that big a believer in cleaniness but his boss terrified him--while Tiny stood at the other other end of the club and sent Tino increasingly bizarre limericks.

Everyone needed a hobby, all right?

Plus column: Bo was human again.

Well. Bo was human-shaped again, and she had legs that were human-shaped again, and those legs had boots that were human-shaped again, so no one had to die.

Minus column: her favorite Hot-Girl-I-Can't-Sleep-With-But-It-Won't-Stop-Me-From-Flirting had skipped town and wasn't here to admire them.

Sigh. Tonight's borderline-illegal skirt was for Isabela anyway.

Jack was behind the bar trying to make small talk with Tiny, which was going about as badly as you could imagine. So far neither of them had picked "Japan of the future!" as where they were: Jack had money down on Singapore, which was...closeish, at least.

The Devil's Nest was open! And slightly confused.

While Jaina was in a much easier mood than she was last week, she was feeling a little paranoid tonight. All because she kept catching Tino staring at her suspiciously. She ignored it at first, but after a while of being at work and catching him doing it, she'd finally get frustrated enough to ask "What?" and have him not answer.

This was going to go on all night. Now taking bets on whether or not Jaina ended up throttling him.

"Ah," said Apu when Shunsui came stumbling in through the doors of Turtle & Canary that afternoon. "You do still work here, I see..."

"Apu-san ♥! Don't sound so disappointed ♥!" Oh, how he had missed that constant look of disapproval! He fluttered immediately over to the liquor aisle, sweeping up a bottle of the finest sake. "Come on ♥! Let's have a drink ♥. I bet it's someone's birthday somewhere ♥!"

Apu-san was going to not so politely decline.

Another night, another rooftop, another prolonged bout of lurking keeping an eye out. She'd almost gotten used to it by now -- the eerie, almost preternatural quiet of Fandom's streets compared to the constant chaos that was Gotham City -- but it always left her with the feeling that it was too quiet and something had to give.

When that happened, she didn't want to miss out.

The girl in the bright red and green costume, hints of equally-bright yellow showing when the occasional breeze caught her black cape and made it flutter to expose the inner lining, was grinning so brightly it was probably visible even in the darkness. Nobody had ever told her about the boy who'd worn these colors before saying that being Robin gave him magic, but she'd completely agree if she knew. Just being out here and feeling the weight of her utility belt, the snap of her grappling line pulling taut mid-flight, and the domino mask around her eyes -- that was a thrill in and of itself.

That she clearly wasn't the only one around here who indulged in these nocturnal habits (Huh. Wonder if the roomie's weirded out by my apparently nonexistent sleep schedule yet?) didn't escape her as she crouched on the edge of a warehouse roof peering over the edge with the night-vision lenses in her mask activated. That part was nice; that part made it a lot like home, where some nights -- as she'd cracked to Batman on one occasion and almost gotten a hint of a smile for it -- you couldn't swing a purse recovered from a mugger without hitting a vigilante.

That part made her smile even wider.

Let the boss be grim and serious about work all the time; that wasn't for her. Being Robin, even when the Fandom streets were awfully light on bad-guy butts to kick, was an amazing thing, and she was going to enjoy it for all it was worth.

[OOC: Totally open, though I may be slow until I get home! As always, the fact that the person on the roof is actually Stephanie is NFB. Wait, that's my linkdrop. OH WELL.]

So maybe America's Next Top Model had lost something over the years. That intangible quality that made it so much fun as it tumbled into a formulaic cesspool of Tyra Banks' ego.

But that didn't mean it wasn't still fun to watch and mock. Mostly mock.

So, Deadpool took full advantage of the community center that he'd actually forgot existed and set up a viewing of the show. Oh yeah, this was just what he needed. Socialization forced upon people with the lure of bitchy, bitchy models.

"Ooo, this one has a catfight," he informed a slightly bored Jan as she colored what appeared to be a rainbow with a very crude drawing of the dog back at Wellspring Arms. "Not that it's very different from normal, I know."

Jack was back behind the bar tonight, still sober. The new DJ (he didn't ask what happened to the last one; his boss didn't seem like the overly chatty sort) was playing the greatest hits of Wham, which didn't strike Jack as the best way to keep a job, but what did he know? He ran a radio statio, but it's not like he listened to half of the music he had access to.

He waved at Tiny, then settled behind the bar for the evening.

Eric Northman didn't get nervous over club openings--he saved his nerves for important things like potentially meeting the sun, getting staked or talking with Nan Flanagan--but he was a tad...apprehensive. It would be embarrassing to throw a party and not have anyone show up.

Tiny, the enormous bouncer, was at the door waiting to check IDs, the newly hired DJ was in the booth, the lights were dimmed, the bar was staffed, the overpriced appetizers were being prepped...it was time to get started.

Eric slouched into his leather booth in the VIP section, put a vaguely bored expression on his face and waved his hand at Tiny to open the doors.

Welcome to the Devil's Nest!

The past week had been quiet. One might say too quiet, but Vimes was not such a person. Oh no, not after having various children in his station, looking for their mothers and/or fathers.

This was just the break one needed.

Which meant he was just going to spend the day in his office, procrastinating doing the paperwork that was piling up.
