Aiden never had been the kind of person to waste a good day. So what if it wasn't sunny? It was warm, and that was the main thing.

Seeing as work seemed to be slow today, Aiden took herself out to sit on the bench outside her offices with her coffee, and set about flicking through the brochure of spa treatments on offer at Theodorics. Her far more intellectual book on forensic anthropology lay forgotten on the seat beside her.

[ooc: And totally open, yes.]

Seeing as it was sunny, dry out, and warming up if only vaguely, and because Aiden was sick of being cramped up indoors... She set herself up a deckchair on the street just outside her offices. More potential for catching passing trade, and it was a nicer environment.

She would be there with her laptop doing background checks for some customers on the mainland, most of the day.

[ooc: Open, but expect some slow pinging from me, as will be off out for dinner in a couple of hours.]

Aiden is hungover and grumpy. The office squelches underfoot and smells worse than it did before. She also has a sneaking suspicion that something alive is still camping out under the carpet as the back right corner keeps jiggling. The courage to go and check it out has eluded her so far.

The door is open and she's all dressed up in waterproofs, brushing as much of the leftover water out of the front door and away as she can with a lot of muttered cursing.

[ooc: Open, but SP for the next hour or so while I finish playing with radioactive things!]

Aiden thought the whole weekend was all just a very vivid dream.

Then she listened to the podcast of the radio.

Now, she can be found hiding behind her laptop, totally engrossed in running preliminary background checks for a client on the mainland. It's very dull but ultimately distracting work and makes it unlikely she'll run into any of the people she met during the weekend. For once, she's actually happy to be doing desk work.

ABIS is open for all your mortified and no-longer-weetiny detective needs.

Aiden stowed some pie in her office freezer last Tuesday.

She went back in hopes of a snack today, and found several frozen books and a pack of latex gloves instead. All of which are now thawing out over radiators around the room. She's not particularly thrilled about this.

ABIS is open, and Aiden is pouting.

Aiden opened her office this morning after the weekend, and found that something was making the place smell. Really smell.

Two hours later after a thorough search that involved moving almost every piece of furniture in the place around, she still hasn't figured out where it's coming from, or what it is.

This is why Aiden can be found, complete with several layers, sitting on the chair from her desk outside the open door. She's not looking all that pleased, surprisingly enough.

Aiden is, rather belatedly, sticking up coloured twinkle lights in the office window.

It's actually not as easy as it looks. She's had to re-stick one corner several times already and is beginning to seriously doubt the efficacy of scotch tape.

Eventually she'll get back to work, she has some background checks to run for a couple of new customers on the mainland, after all. But the place needed brightening up and this seemed like the best way to do it. time to embrace the holiday season.

She has the radio on in the background is swaying a little to the music as she works.

[ooc: Open! Although, I'll likely be back and forth a bit, so SP at points.]

Despite the fact her office is now all back in one piece, and clean and it's been a couple of weeks since the last bout of destruction, Aiden's still a little posessive of the place. She's even been poking her head out of the door every once in a while just to check there isn't anything about to come and rampage through it again. Re-painting it twice in her first two weeks was more than enough for her.

The office is open and the 'Free Spy Pen' sign is still in the window. After all, she still has some leftover, and it did draw people in the last time she did it.

Aiden had spent the entire weekend barricaded in her room. The quick glances out of her windows had assured her that she really, really didn't want to meet any trolls, and she'd decided that keeping well hidden and out the way, really was the best plan.

It took her until lunchtime on Monday before she'd decided it was definitely safe to walk the streets again. Everyone else seemed to be out there now. She considered that a good way to judge the level of safety.

She let out a deep sigh once she got to her office, and stood back in the street, hands on her hips, eyeing up the damage. It was just her luck that the moment she'd got the place finished some goddamn great trolls had to arrive and smash the place to bits.

At least she didn't have to worry about whether or not to replace the door anymore. It was essentially gone, after all.

[ooc: Open, as these things generally are. The business, is in pieces, obviously.]
[identity profile] outofbrooklyn.livejournal.com
Aiden is sat at her desk spinning back and forth on her nice and clean (but still unhealthily squeaky)
chair and taking in her new office. She's alphabetised her books, cleaned every inch, and covered the board behind her in newspaper clippings of the DJ Pratt case. She's feeling more like a real PI every minute.

There's a smart printed sign taped in the window, Free Spy Pen, for everyone! because she sure isn't afraid to lure possible custom by offering free things.

Yes, Aiden does know that spies and detectives aren't the same thing. At all. She just doesn't really seem to care all that much. A gimmick is a gimmick, after all.

[ooc: It's actually open for business at last. Just in time for rampaging trolls and everything!]
[identity profile] outofbrooklyn.livejournal.com
Seeing as it was relatively clear afternoon, Aiden decided that today was the right time to get the last of the organisation of her office done. She doesn't exactly have a backyard to use, so she's making the most of being in a quiet town and is using a part of the street instead.

There are a few pieces of furniture and a couple of other bits and pieces on the sidewalk. Aiden's there, lying underneath a table and scrubbing at it with a cloth. Occasionally there might be some mild cursing when bits of dust rain down from her efforts into her face.

[ooc: Post is open, the business obviously isn't, as half her office currently out in the street.]
[identity profile] outofbrooklyn.livejournal.com
There was something about private investigations that implied a certain seedy nature. The slightly dilapidated building Aiden was looking up at would probably be considered fitting, actually. Didn't look like anyone had actually been in there in a while, and if they had they certainly hadn't given it a paint job while they were there.

She fiddled with the keys in her hand, finally selecting the one she assumed would open the front door and set about getting the property open. After several seconds of struggle the lock finally gave in, and clicked unlocked. Aiden sighed in relief and went to open the front door.

The door however seemed to have it's own ideas, and didn't budge even when she used her shoulder and her hip in an attempt to get the job done.

Aiden kicked it and let out a frustrated, "Goddamn door!" before shoving at it a couple more times.

What good was having an office if she couldn't get into the stupid place.

[[ooc: So totally open. Mock her, help her, freak her out, or just plain meet her. Whatever you want.]]
