Faraday, contrary to what he was half-convinced of on some hungover mornings, still owned a store. That had not been a hallucination. He had even, over the past few weeks, begun to make attempts at doing an inventory and learning bookkeeping, although they were going about as well as could be expected, which was: not well.

Today, though, he had even managed to remember to open said store, and had hung a 'Now Hiring' sign in the window in hopes of attracting some assistance who would be better suited to this venture than he was. Such as, say, your average teenager.

Wellspring Arms was open, and would probably be open well into the evening. Faraday wasn't really clear on regular business hours yet.

Faraday officially did not understand anything about this place.

He'd managed to glean that today was New Year's Eve, which meant that after arriving in the future, and barely beginning to get accustomed to that fact, it was about to be even more the future, which seemed downright rude of time somehow. He'd decided to refill his ammunition pouch, as being able to shoot his problems always making him feel better about life and all, and upon tracking down a place he could do that, when he'd introduced himself the guy behind the counter had handed him the keys and told him the place was all his, then left.

He was reasonably sure there had been some grievous mistake made here (For one thing, he didn't know what a meditation was. Maybe he should ask Goody.), but there was a fair amount of cash in the safe he suddenly had access to, an unseemly amount of guns in inventory, and a dusty and disused apartment that was a damn sight better than sleeping on the beach in winter upstairs, so he was going to pretend he was supposed to be here until someone called him on it.

Wellspring Arms is open.

One moment, Faraday was on his knees in the middle of a field.

The next...the next he was on his feet, considerably less bullet-riddled, and his horse was lipping at his hat. "Aw, buddy, not you, too," he said. Jack just snorted. Last thing he knew he'd been locked up at the livery stable back in Rose Creek, not that he, being a horse, knew what Rose Creek was. "Although I have to say," Faraday said slowly, looking around, "I expected hell to be a bit warmer than this."

Jack made another attempt at stealing his hat.

"Okay, buddy, okay. Let's figure this place out...see if hell has a livery stable, at least." Faraday took the reins in hand and led Jack onto the island.

((Open to anyone who'd like to encounter a cowboy leading a big bay stallion around the island!))

Dani had gone between Fandom and her old home in Fremont so often in recent months that she was having trouble remembering where she was waking up before her first cup of coffee. As she stumbled into The Gig, clutching her to-go cup from The Perk and making a note that she really needed to keep coffee in the kitchen of her Fandom home, she noticed that the barn had an extra stall not currently occupied by a horse. Dani stopped and stared at it for a moment, then went around a did a head count. All of her horses were accounted for, and yet there was space for one more. So Dani drained the last of her coffee and got to work prepping the stall for a new occupant, just in case.

The Gig was open.
