Faith had found some loose change under her couch! Four whole dollars!

So she did the 'sponsible thing and went to the ice cream shop and got the biggest, gooey-est sundae she could for four dollars. It had whipped cream and nuts and sprinkles and everything.

(So, so open.)

Faith had a request for the zombies. Wasn't as good as the original, but it seemed fitting.

How can I put this in a way so as not to offend or unnerve*
But there's a rumor going all around that you ain't been gettin' served**
They said that you ain't you-know-what*** in baby, who knows how long
It's hard for me to say what's right when all I wanna do is wrong****

Caritas was open. And groooooovay.

*Not likely, since it's Faith
**Alcohol. Obviously. Which is why you should come to Caritas, as they don't card.
***Been drunk.
****No, this line's perfect for Faith.

Murdock had commandeered one of the larger comfy chairs and was sitting cross-legged with the computer on his lap. He seemed to be working on some kind of statistical chart.

He was also humming under his breath and would occasionally stop to nibble on a cheese danish.

(so very, very open. gah, I'm bored)

Last night's radio broadcast had given Faith an idea, and Faith and Ideas were dangerous things. So there was a huge jar on the bar countertop that said:

STRIPPER POLE FUND

with a little disclaimer at the bottom:

If Faith's boss don't go for the idea, Faith's keeping the money.

Caritas was open.

She was, of course, wearing something sleeveless to show off her own tattoo.

Dale is cheerfully whistling his way through his paperwork as he sucks down his fifth cup of coffee for the day and munches on his third doughnut.

Despite the change in locale and the influx of ponies over the weekend, life in the office is quiet and peaceful.

Still likin' Greece. Getting her tan on. All that good stuff. Meeting such interesting people.

Caritas, it was open, and its bartender was in a pretty good mood.

Days like today, when he'd spent an hour or so moving his stuff down to the cabins, Anders was really glad he had that Glider; it wasn't quite as convenient as having a boyfriend on hand to shimmer stuff down, but still easier than walking. Of course, he'd then spent all the time he'd saved packing things up to ship out to Neptune, so he hadn't earned high marks for efficiency.

Well, maybe.

Maybe the Greek air was getting to him in some way or other, because he was leaning against the bar, staring into space and humming tunelessly to himself; he never even noticed that the olives Tino occasionally flicked against his head were kalamatas instead of the usual cocktail olives. Shame about that; he really liked kalamatas.

[OOC: Modding Tino's your best bet tonight, since I'm taking my mom out for dinner shortly and won't be around much until later.]

Before she came to Fandom, the furthest Renee had have gone from Gotham was to Central City for a prisoner transfer.

She stoop just outside the trooper station, fingers itching to grab a cigarette as she looked out toward the ocean and... Greece. Weird. Weirder than normal, even.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
There were a lot of kids running around town this past weekend.

Renee counted herself among the lucky few childless and avoiding the general amount of chaos they seemed to bring with them. And she had coffee.

Oh yeah, life was good.

Faith set up the bar on time, bouncing around, showing off her t-shirt.

Tino didn't seem too impressed.

She put a sign up for the night's special:

Free Drinks for the Sexually Adventurous

because she had a feeling that phrasing it directly might get her fired.

Caritas: way open.

Tea was quite obviously not going to solve her little 'problem', but it would help her calm down and concentrate, which is why Ghani made her way to the Perk after finding appropriate clothing.  Tea and breakfast first, hunting down a solution second.  The world would not end if she took a few moments to find some peace and quiet.

Although if that little barista-girl fluttered her eyelashes at Ghanima one more time, she was going to scream.

[Open for all your Perk needs!]

Dale is back at his desk and is reflecting on the events of Friday and Saturday as he goes over the reports from the troopers regarding the increase of prepubescent children that had occurred over the weekend.

There's a cup of coffee and a jelly dougnut on his desk, his voice recorder is filled with observations and there's a small grin on his face as he knows that everything in the universe is exactly as it should be.

Or at least as close as it gets here in Fandom.

[Open and no ocd]
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
No new broken limbs this time around. Just a cop searching for information, any information, on Katherine Kane over the past ten years.

Interesting how people change, isn't it?

So preoccupied, she even forgot to start the coffee. The troopers weren't pleased.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
Odd couple of days didn't even begin to cover it for Renee.

She sat at her desk, hunched over a keyboard and trying to find any information on Intergang she could.
[identity profile] neverfaithful.livejournal.com
Well. Last week had been such a great time, Faith just couldn't wait to hop on in and start tending bar. Really.

Caritas. Open. Whatever.

Check it out, Valentine's coming up. Specials on pink and red fruity fizzy kinda drinks. Hell, maybe a special on hard liquor for anybody single and looking to get laid.

Your bartender for this evening had decked herself out in a mostly red shirt and leather pants, and Caritas was open.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
Having just got back into town, Renee didn't look like she'd gotten much sleep. Or any at all, really.

"No, don't put me on hold--!" She slammed the phone down on the desk a few times in frustration. "Idiots."

Sighing, she lifted the phone to listen to the soft jazz. It didn't calm her down. She picked slightly at the cast, wondering if she should get to the clinic to see about getting this taken care of a little faster.
[identity profile] neverfaithful.livejournal.com
Faith was in a pretty good mood for once, as she unlocked the bar and set up for her shift. She even apologized to Tino for being so cranky last week.

Tino, as usual, just looked at her and shrugged. Might've been a grunt there.

One of these weeks, she was gonna show up covered in Saran Wrap and dance the hula just to see if he'd say something then.

But not tonight.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
Today Renee brought in a few muffins from J, GoB. They looked good and she refused to endorse the stereotype of cops and donuts.

Unless the donuts were really good.

She ignored the disappointed looks from the troopers over bringing in muffins.

Town hall seemed to have gone through a transformation for one evening as both security forces had outdone themselves. The ballroom had been made to look like the inside of a log cabin, a rather large log cabin at that, but still a log cabin. The walls were temporarily covered with woodwork and the decorative fireplaces had finally been put to use, casting a warm light on the rest of the room. The usual tables and seats to the side of the room had been replaced by comfortable, squishy couches. The middle of the hall was left open so there was plenty of room for people to dance.

Of course, there still were wooden tables covered with food and drinks spread along the length of the room. There was hot cider, mulled wine, gingerbread, apple pie and tarts with whipping cream and cider donuts,... Pumpkins, squashes and oranges with cloves were used at decorations. The tables away from the fireplaces and closer to the cooler dancefloor had been made to look like they were snowed under and the windows had been covered with fake snow and ice crystals to establish the winter theme.

It was something different.

((Up early for timezones and slowplay! As indicated before, this time it's adults only. So enjoy not having to watch yourself for ankle biters! If there's a need for it, a second post will be thrown up later.

Wait for OCD please! Watch me forget something, I'm sure. Done. I think. Have fun!))

Still not too thrilled about the whole cheerleader deal, but other than that, Faith was in a pretty sweet mood. And since it seemed to be warming up nicely for January (wtf, Fandom?) that meant she could get away with wearing a t-shirt instead of long sleeves or a coat. Good times.

After handwavily omg damn trains scouting out the hotel and surrounding area yesterday, Rain found her way to what looked like the local law enforcement station.

Who knew if the infection was here as well, though.

Not chance she was letting herself get bit by one of those zombie freaks.

Renee...

Might still have a bit of a hangover from the weekend. so she was quietly working on some nonsense paper work and drinking a lot of coffee.

And the bad stuff too.

Faith made sure to show up bright and early for her shift, since she'd been late last week. Freaking New Year's.

So the school had new kids. Should be interesting. Good thing they didn't card. She'd never been one to deny teenagers their booze.

Caritas. Open. And all that jazz.

Cold.  Ghanima let the sand slide through her fingers in fascination.  It never ceased to amaze her, the ocean, despite so many images of it in her Other Memory.  Sand should only be cold at night, the fierce freezing cold of the deep desert at midnight.  During the day, it ought to be hot, burning the hand that dared touch it.

Grinning, she removed her shoes and set them off to the side, enjoying the feel of sand again.  Taking a deep breath, she centered herself, allowing her mind to empty as she began moving through the basic forms of the Weirding Way.  Anyone who was walking by would see a flickering as Ghanima vanished and reappeared in various spots around the beach, kicking and twirling her way along the sand as she danced with the waves.

It was New Years Eve and Renee settled in for the long haul.

Always a fun night for drunks and- she rolled her eyes -daring criminal enterprises. It sometimes surprised her how dumb people could be.

And really, better to be at work than alone tonight.

[[OOC: SP due to me getting a laptop today and flailing about as I set it up!]]

Renee sat at her desk, sipping some of the coffee Cooper gave her for Christmas.

And eying the coffeepot in case any troopers decided to try and steal some.

They could get their own damn coffee today.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
With a prisoner in the cells and most of her paper work done, Renee's morning was less annoying than she thought it would be.

She eyed the coffee Cooper gave her and shrugged, just brewing a pot of it. A celebration for the psycho no longer being on the streets.

Or something.

Anyone walking into the station would probably note that Dale is sitting on top of his desk cross-legged in a meditative pose.

Well... meditative if you count the fact that he's talking to his tape recorder. Again.

"Diane, it is Wednesday morning approximately 9:25 am. Once again we appear to have someone on the island attacking innocent people. The felon goes by the name Angelus. If memory serves me correctly 'Angelus' is a devotion used in the Catholic church in memory of the Incarnation in Christianity. Several people have been brutally attacked and one girl is currently in the hospital, Miss Willow Rosenberg. If you remember Diane, Miss Rosenberg was one of the first people to greet me here in Fandom as well as giving me a lovely fruit basket which contained six bananas, five apples, a pineapple and a tin of cookies. I've sent an order of flowers over to the hospital along with a card personally written to me. Remind me to tell you how much that was.

We've increased the amount of troops to help patrol the streets. Our only hope is that we can catch the monster before someone else can get hurt. My only regret is that in all the disaster scenarios that Detective Montoya and I had worked on, not one of them dealt with a single maniac preying on our town. I assure you that will not be the case the next time this happens."

Dale clicked off the recorder and hopped down off his desk giving his legs a little stretch.

Right before clicking the recorder back on again.

"Diane, it struck me again earlier this morning... there are two things that continue to trouble me. And I'm not just speaking as an officer of the law but also as a human being: What really happened to Jimmy Hoffa and how exactly was the Gambino organization involved?"

The troopers were either too busy or too used to Dale to notice his antics.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
There was porn on Renee's computer. Not even good porn at that.

She was not amused.

Someone was going to get yelled at for this.

Hey, it was Wednesday, and she still had a job. Wasn't that something. She had an apartment, a real job, and she hadn't even gotten into any drunken brawls lately. Still felt kinda strange, going legit.

In the meantime, Caritas was open, and its bartender was sipping on a Jack and Coke.
[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com
Renee was working.

Well, she was reading the old reports on this place, at least. This counted as working when the biggest crimes in town while she had been there seemed to be public intoxication and vandalism.

If only everything could be so easy.

She sighed and grabbed another file, stretching out her lower back before getting back to it.

Mohinder had had a quiet Thanksgiving, an evening of hypothesizing only interrupted by an awkward, brief phone call from New York.

Only theories were all very well, but they needed to be backed up with solid numbers. And Mohinder had neglected to bring any chai with him. So this afternoon found him sitting in the Perk, behind a laptop screen of scrolling figures, rather than his apartment.

The additional caffiene may have been why his attention was straying from genetic migration algorithms to the cup of iced coffee at his side.

[Open for any Perk-type needs]

Faith wasn't expecting much of a crowd. It was almost Thanksgiving and normal people had families and homes and whatever to get back to.

Then again, this island wasn't in the shouting distance of 'normal.' And more importantly, last time she'd come into work, she'd taken someone home with her.

So Faith opened Caritas bright and early. Hoping nobody wanted Thanksgiving-themed liquor.

Even with all the weirdness of the previous week, the plague and then the time shifting stuff, Cassandra had made a commitment Fina so she wasn't going to miss her shift. In a way, she was sort of looking forward to it. It gave her something to do, after all.

She snagged the specials board and took it back to the kitchen with her when she arrived. Then she got into a long discussion about her proposed special for the day. It wasn't that they couldn't do it, of course (this was Fina, after all), but that it was so... plebeian. It was a simple idea, but lacked any sort of understated elegance. Still, in the end, they had to admit that Cassandra's idea was at least a very tasty choice, and that won them over

Cut for image )

Cassandra stood looking out over the cafe with a grin on her face. Maybe she was starting to get the hang of all this.

After she had been handwavily shown where the station was, Renee had no trouble finding it again today.

Of course, this also meant she'd have to do something with her desk.

She sighed and started shifting through paperwork instead. Nice and distracting.

Mary stayed overnight at Town Hall yesterday because she wanted to be certain that her employees River and Hoshi would be alright. She came back to the hotel this morning, had a very long shower to make up for three days of lying in a cot, changed her clothes and went to the memorial service. By the time she got back to the hotel just before afternoon tea, Mary was just about exhausted. She wrapped a shawl around her and crashed for the rest of the afternoon on one of the comfy couches in the lobby while Gunther kept bringing her more tea.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Please join us for afternoon tea, especially if you need to stay hydrated.

There was a pile of paperwork stacked on Roy's desk which was threatening to fall over. This was what happened if you weren't around for a few days and Roy was seriously wishing that his right hand was the one in braces. That way he could pawn off the files to Cooper. Or maybe he'd get a stamp so he wouldn't have to scribble things down. Stamps were cool and would save him so much time.
