Today Renee brought in a few muffins from J, GoB. They looked good and she refused to endorse the stereotype of cops and donuts.

Unless the donuts were really good.

She ignored the disappointed looks from the troopers over bringing in muffins.

Dale made a grab for two muffins as he headed to his desk. "Good morning Detective! How was your weekend?"

"Interesting with the convention in town," Renee said, glancing up at him for a moment before making a note on the file in front of her.

"Oh? Did you arrest anyone?" Dale said sitting in his chair and leaning back.

Yes. His paperwork for the week was already done. He's sick in the head.

She snorted, not in amusement, more annoyance. "I'd need a little more back up if the name on the panel was correct."

"What name was that?" Dale asked as he took a bite from his muffin. "Someone from back home?"

"Deathstroke." She shook her head. "Rather not end up with a few dead troopers trying to take him down."

"He's that good, huh?" Dale said. "Of course with a name like that he sounds like a living blood clot."

She kinda liked that description.

"Slade Wilson, AKA Deathstroke. He's an assassin. The Bat was the one to deal with him when he came into town."

"Lovely," Dale said with a frown. "Perhaps having the troopers check the woods for dead bodies might be a good idea just in case someone picked up a job while they were here."

"He's the type to go for a big target," Renee said, thinking back to the old case files on him. "But that couldn't hurt."

A few of the troopers were already heading out the door just base on the suggestion so Dale shrugged and went back to his muffin.

"Did you happen to have time to do anything other than deal with mercenaries this weekend?"

"Did you?" Renee asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I managed to get across the causeway to this little pie shop in Alexandria," Dale said dreamily. "What those people with crust... it's a shame there's no Nobel Prize for pie."

"Sadly I doubt they'll think that contributions to pastries and desserts are direct benefit to mankind," Dale smirked.
