MCA Lobby - Wednesday

Rusty was in a good mood today. He had some money riding on the Pittsburgh Penguins and they were doing really well.

Plus he was hanging up fliers to let his residents know that he was hosting a cookout this Saturday on the roof (weather permitting). If it rained, the cookout would move to the holosuite.

Rusty was chilling in the lobby, watching some crime show marathon on TV.

He was around if any of his residents needed him or if anyone wanted to drop by to chat though.

[no apartments to rent = no ocd. and I'm done spamming now.]

Rusty was pleased that his building was full for the first time since he had purchased it. Since he didn't really have any paperwork to do, he was sitting in the lobby with a calendar and some party supply catalogs, trying to decide on a date and theme for a 'Get to Know Your Neighbors' shindig.

[open! and no ocd because there are no apartments to rent!]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty knew he was likely to rent out his last few empty apartments today, with all the new teachers arriving.

So he was up early, set out some refreshments and propped open the front door to hopefully entice in some new residents.

Rusty was quite happy when he realized the wee mariachi band was gone today. They had given him a headache.

He was processing paperwork for a new tenant and making sure all of the vacant apartments were clean given the influx of folks who were expected to move to town this weekend.

Iced tea, fruit salad and the World Series of Poker was Rusty's idea of a perfect way to spend a relaxing day.

He'd share if anyone stopped by. And he'd even work if his tenants or future tenants needed him.

"Is it ready?" Jolee asked. Tino nodded.

The TV in the back room was showing cartoons. There were juice boxes back there. The adorable droid was nowhere to be seen.

Caritas was ready for any kids who might show up.

[OOC: I'm around.]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty was beginning to hate this town.

The kid that was calling him dad seemed to be having fun sitting around with a deck of cards though.

"Hey, Dad, you wanna play poker?"

"Sure, kid, why not. You gonna tell me your name?"

The kid rolled his eyes. "I told you, you can call me Jack."

Rusty sighed. "Fine, deal the cards, Jack."

[open for any residents or anyone who wants to stop by!]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
All Rusty had planned for the day was hanging out in the lobby and catching up on paperwork.

Damn gremlins had other plans for him.

Which was why he strode purposefully into Fast Eddie's and broke into song.

Rusty was bored today. All of his paperwork was caught up, so he was messing around with a deck of cards.

He would certainly welcome any company.

[like the other cool kids, there is no OCD on this post]

Rusty was finally venturing out of his apartment after hiding from the influx of small children that occurred over the weekend.

[stop by and chat! no ocd]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Anyone seeking refuge from the... things that were littering the skies of Fandom would be welcome in the lobby of the MCA.

The owner, however, was hiding under his desk. He was a smart man who knew his limits when it came to the weird, bizarre and possibly dangerous.

Rusty was at the front desk, paying bills and catching up on other paperwork.

He would be happy to chat with any of his tenants, any potential tenants or any visitors.

Marion had spent most of the afternoon decorating the bar with Valentine's decorations she handwavily got from Turtle & Canary. The whole red and pink theme was kind of making her gag but it was Valentine's Day and people were here to find love or whatever.

Marion hoped she was getting a bonus for this or something

After she had set all the decorations and tables up, she put out a nice sign:

Caritas Presents
THREE MINUTE DATES

Hosted by Marion Ravenwood
Reject people real fast

When everyone arrived, Marion got on stage and grabbed the mic. "Okay everyone, this is how this is gonna work. I call your name and someone else's. You get together. You guys talk for three minutes, get to know each other and then you'll hear this," Marion put a whistle into her mouth and blew. "Then I call your name with someone else's and then you switch. Then you do the same thing again. Five times total. Questions? No? Good!"

Then she blew the whistle for fun.

[3 minutes = 10 comments, 5 for each of you. You can do these out of order but try not to Joss yourselves. Up early for great SP justice]

[Wait for the OCD or, I swear, I will have Emmett hug you until your back breaks OCD UP!]

So far today, Sarah had experimentally stabbed the hat, lit it on fire, tossed it against the way, taken fibers for chemical analysis, licked it (felty), and locked it in the office safe. She only didn't shoot at it because she was worried the noise would carry, but she did think about it.

It kept ending up unhurt and back on her head.

Finally, she adjusted it in her compact mirror and decided to just go with it. Stupid hats were not the worst thing that could happen, or even the weirdest of the week..

[OOC: Open store, no OCD.]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
After a quick trip to the sporting goods store, Rusty returned to his building. If he couldn't get his hands on a generator, he could at least do his best to keep his tenants warm and comfortable.

There were battery operated lanterns all over the lobby. In one corner was a pile of down sleeping bags. A propane stove on the counter boiled water for instant coffee, tea, or hot cocoa.

And a fireplace had randomly appeared in the lobby as well.

[open to any residents or anyone else who wants to stop by! no OCD.]

With the power outage and the cold, Savannah really hadn't wanted to leave the dorms. However it was cold out there and it was a bit gray due to the snowing and the cloud cover.

That would be why she was at the store on her day off. She figured people would need camping equipment and other things for light and warmth right now. She had lit a few of the laterns around the store and was bundled up in a coat at the front of the store.

It was cold! She really hoped she didn't get sick from this.

Nast's is open.

"There, there," Jolee told Tino. "It'll be okay. Lift your head up high and get back to work. There are new people in town. That always causes people to want to drink more."

Tino couldn't help feeling sad, though. All of the teams he had been rooting for this weekend had lost! All he knew was that the Eagles had better win or he was going to be very angry.

[OOC: Tino up there is reflecting my opinions of the NFL playoffs this weekend. GO PHILLY! I may be a little slow again. Please mod Tino for speed or groups.]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty was once again hanging out in the lobby in case there were any new folks who needed an apartment.

This time he had beer, chips and dip and was watching football playoffs. He'd probably share if anyone wanted to hang out.

[No OCD again. *is lazy* Come hang out with Rusty and watch football or rent an apartment! Three apartments available, details here.]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty had caught wind of the fact that there were a bunch of new folks moving to the island this weekend. He made sure all of his empty apartments were cleaned and ready for renting.

Now's he got a soda, some snacks and is hanging out in case anyone is in need of a place to live.

[ooc: OCD free! There are four vacant apartments currently in this building. Details about them are here. Email me at nugents.shirt AT gmail DOT com if you need anything!]

The lobby of the MCA was fully decorated for the holidays, there were small gifts for each of the residents and a table full of food and drink.

Holiday music played at a comfortable level so people could still mingle and chat.

The party was technically for the residents and their guests, but Rusty wasn't likely to notice or care if anyone extra showed up.
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty was finalizing the last details for the party tomorrow.

And he was around if anyone needed him for anything.

[ocd free again!]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty was finally getting around to decorating the lobby of the building. He hung stockings with the names of each of his tennents and put a small tree in one corner.

He also filled a crockpot with mulled apple cider so people could help themselves.

Additionally, there were signs hanging up announcing the holiday get together he was hosting on Saturday evening. All of the tennents were invited and welcome to bring guests.

[ocd free! I meant to post about Rusty's party a week ago and kind of flaked, sorry! It will be open to all because he's not gonna know or care if people crash.]
[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty was bored. He needed to get out more.

At the moment, he was sitting at the front desk and writing out some ideas for the party he and Mary had discussed on their date last week.

[OCD free! There are two apartments available if anyone needs a place or if anyone just feels like chatting, they are welcome to stop by!]

After making sure that Mutt was settled with Indy and his father, Marion headed down to Caritas for her shift. She was in a good mood, knowing that her son was hanging out with his father and grandfather for the first time. She just hoped they didn't get into trouble.

After making sure that the zombies were all taped up (and boy, was that disgusting) Marion unlocked the doors to the bar.

[Up early for earliness! I'm around!]

It was still a beautiful day and there was still plenty of wonderful food in the Park, welcoming visitors to Fandom Island.

The registration desk was still open and the banner waved in the comfortable breeze announcing the event of the day.
Welcome to Parents Weekend 2008

[OOC: DONE! Just like Part One | Registration | Security | Food & Drink | Mingling]

Rusty had the cleaning service come in and make sure that #9 was well cleaned now that the former tenant had moved out.

He sat in the lobby, doing some paperwork, but was totally interruptable.

When Robin came into work, feeling all attractive and swaggery and boobless, she found a very disgruntled young woman behind the bar.

When she was done laughing, she assured him she'd be calling him Tina all night, and then wrote up a little sign.

Girly drinks and manly beer -- half price!
Or free if you tell who you are right away, thanks

And with that, she went back to admiring her own reflection in a back of a spoon.

[I AM AROUND ALL NIGHT WHAT UP.]
[identity profile] bad-nose-job.livejournal.com

To say that Penelope wasn't nervous for her first night of work would be a vast understatement. She was terribly nervous and excited and coming into work early only managed to give her time to work up more nervousness. It was an awful feeling in the center of her belly.

Tino set a draft beer on the counter in front of her and without a word, Penelope sipped it using a straw. Ten minutes later she was feeling much better and ready to serve the public.

The zombies were playing something she didn't recognize but it didn't matter, it was entertaining if not bizarre.

Caritas is open!

[identity profile] nugents-shirt.livejournal.com
Rusty had definitely not gotten used to this place yet. It was beyond weird, but it was certainly interesting.

In a quest to find the best food on the island, he was currently seated at Jeff, God of Biscuits with a sandwich, chips and several pastries.

[expecting one, but open before that]
[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com
It was a boring night in the bar. Tino had briefly decided to go on strike before Robin threatened to make him dogsit again if he did.

And as a result, Robin was now behind the bar reading Cosmo (specifically an article on hatesex) and Tino was obediently cleaning the bar.

[This is what happens when you ask people for ideas. Also, I'm kind of randomly exhausted so if I'm slow, it's because I fell asleep on you zomg. Not literally. Probably.]
