Disregarding last year's meadfest with their friends the Vikings, it was a fine Fandom tradition that the graduation day was followed up by a grad brunch on Sunday, and this year was no exception.

The weather was okay, and a feast had been laid out in the park. A banner spelling out CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2012 hung from the trees, and there were tables and chairs spread all around, some covered by tents and some not. And at the center of it all, naturally as at any good Fandom event, were the tables of moddable foods and drinks.

Even cake. Fandom High graduation ceremonies might have been things of surprise dropbear terror, but the school did take care of its own when it came to food. It was a very good time for the graduates, along with their classmates, friends and families, not to mention random townsfolk, to gather and celebrate yet another class making its way through the challenge knowns as high school.

The rules had been explained. The supplies had been distributed. The sun was down, the preserve was nice and secluded, the squirrels and other assorted wildlife were armed with tiny helmets and equipment that Topher certainly hadn't ordered, and there was no school board here to disapprove.

Welcome to Paintball 2012.

[[no OCD, but open for joining in/stumbling across the game! equipment and a list of the rules are stationed around, home base is back at Caritas, and that rule about sticking to the preserve is SO getting forgotten in all the chaos. HAVE FUN!]]

Caritas was open before sundown due to DST and it being light out forever anyway, but whatever, the place was ready to serve as Paintball Headquarters before sundown. Tino was behind the bar in case anyone wanted drinks, the lounge was set up for game night, and all that was needed were a few people to show up!

And turpentine. Lots and lots of turpentine.

[The bar is open till morning for your non-paintballing needs, though it's a mod Tino night. Feel free to cover the exterior of the place with paint in this post, too. In fact, I encourage it. A preserve post will be going up to start the game officially is here! PLAY BALL!!
And if you're paintballing, please refer to the rules/sign up so you know what's up for destruction and what's not! (You can totes still add your business or things to the list, too.)]

Simon seemed to be having a good week for once. He'd made the most of Spring Break in Rio if largely handwavily, taking in the sights, doing a bit of parkour... He'd even braved the crowds during the carnival, though invisible. It was the best way to people watch.

He was glad he'd gone.

Of course, his cheeks and nose were still suffering from how they'd been burned by the harsh Brazilian sun, but he didn't mind. They'd heal. And they seemed to be providing entertainment for Nathan – the one at home. Simon had texted a picture of his poor face to Alisha, who'd apparently shown it to the group since it hadn't been more than fifteen minutes until the first message from Nathan had arrived, filled with profanity and a baffling paradox of both accusing Simon of sending filthy, filthy photos to Alisha, and neglecting to send Nathan anything.

To be honest, the texts were making Simon smile to himself as he walked into the Perk for a morning cup of tea.

It was that time of the year again: spring break, with its travels to far away and exotic locales! Like Brazil.

Teachers and students had been asked to assemble at the causeway as per usual. Their portal would be leaving early on into the afternoon, so there was plenty of time to pack up your things and hurry on down to catch it.

So, the question remained: was everyone ready for some fun in the sun? Or was there still too much bodyswappy freaking out to be done?

Stay tuned.

During the afternoon, workers had built up a large firepit in the center of the park. Smaller ones were built a short distance away from it, just to make sure nobody froze during the festivities.

There was ice on the pond, thick ice, and someone had set up a small booth alongside it renting out skates for the night. Closer to the bonfire, there was a buffet, partly already cooked (and with cocoa, too!), partly set up with raw meat, fish, marshmallows and vegetables for the more enterprising crowd who might want to roast something over one of the fires.

Lights hung in the trees, and the fires blared merrily. Fandom was ready for the changing of the years, and all were welcome.

Anakin came back from Connecticut with a new sense of purpose (and a deep hatred of the idiots who drove on I-95), several 2x4s, a hammer, and some paper.

A few minutes of banging later and Anakin had a giant bulletin board...thing.

In big bold letters he labeled one giant sheet of paper "CONFIRMED DISAPPEARANCES" and the other "RETURNING FANDOMITES."

He took a deep breath before scrawling information under the disappearances, then tacking up two dated photographs of the people in question on the blank area on the board he'd left for that purpose. For some reason it seemed vital that someone other than him remember what they looked like too.

He placed a piece of glass down over the sheets of paper (no use going to this much trouble if things would just get blown away or wet) and headed back to the trooper station to catch up on what he'd missed the last few days.

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

Ramona didn't do it often, but girl knew how to throw a party. Granted, at the age of seventeen, she hadn't been to a ton of college parties, but she'd been to enough to emulate them effectively.

She'd gotten to the beach early enough to set up a couple beer pong tables, along with one for flip cup. There were several kegs of (really, really cheap -- might as well go for the full college draw here) beer, and nearby those, she'd placed an assortment of liquors and mixers. There was no bartender or anything for this party -- not only to fit with the theme, but also because Ramona was cheap and practical. See also the traditional red party cups she'd gotten for their drinks!

There were, however, tiki torches and a bonfire, and she'd sprung for festive little umbrellas to go in the drinks. Ramona hadn't really wanted to go totally tropical for this thing, but she'd dressed relatively beachy for her -- she was wearing a sundress, at least, over her swimsuit, and she had a little white flower in her blue hair.

She was determined to make sure Kate didn't miss any of that vital college experience. Because clearly, this was the important stuff.

[up early for sp and to accommodate time zones since SOME people live in like the north pole or whatever! all students (except topher) are welcome!]

It had taken some doing to get a decent party together on an island currently off the coast of Atlantis, but the Darlings knew that all things were possible with enough money and a few well-placed tantrums from Juliet. And so the pre-Fourth of July summer fiesta came to be.

Chinese paper lanterns marked off a section of the beach, and a mix of popular music came from the DJ booth in one corner. A barbecue-themed buffet was set up in a tent, which also hosted a few small tables and chairs for anyone who needed to take a break.

Once the sun was all the way down, a special fireworks display was scheduled to go off -- just to add that special finishing frisson to the night.

[OOC: Open to all! Emails of handwavy invitation went out to the students.]

This infernal rain would not let on. There was a steady drip that made Dilios' red warrior's cloak heavy on his shoulders. Even the eyepatch covering the left side of his face was soaked through, but Dilios did not let it bother him. The constant patter of the rain on his heavy bronze shield was almost cheering. They did not get much weather like this in Sparta and so Dilios stood, vigil even in this strange place.

Remember us, the rain seemed to tell him and perhaps that was why he was here. To tell of Leonidas and his 300. Of the Spartans who he fought with side by side, but whose grave he did not share.

[Open for rain drenched park needs or anyone wishing to run into a soaked Spartan.]

Vida had gotten an early start in the park to set things up for the Strawberry Social. It had been chilly and damp when she arrived, but a stern glare at the clouds had sent them fleeing, and the sun was shining over the park now, making for a bright and sunny day. There was danceable music playing and plenty of places to stretch out and enjoy the sun.

Several picnic tables were laid end to end, covered with red table cloths and adorned with edible arrangements. There were plates to load up with food, which was available in plenty, including just about every strawberry dish imaginable. Vida had also thoughtfully provided red flowers to tuck in the hair and red scarves for those who might be feeling red-deficient.

[Please stand by for OCD. All systems go!]

This gloomy afternoon, Simon was out of his usual uniform of button-up shirt and dark jeans in favour of a black hoodie and tracksuit bottoms. It was the sensible thing to do when he was out running in the rain.

He hadn't been on the island for too long yet, but he was already getting to be fairly familiar with the streets. Running was getting to be routine, and it was good to be able to say he was doing it for class. No need to tell people he would've been doing it anyway, especially not with Nathan back on the island. He thought about the impossibility of that as he ran. He also thought of his friends back home, and things he didn't know how to do, and how long it'd be before he'd dare to take to the rooftops.

The rain made his hair stick to his forehead and his clothes cling to his body a bit, but he didn't mind. He kept running.

As announced by the posters that had appeared around the dorms earlier in the week, there was a party on the beach this warm Friday evening. Or at least, there would be, once people arrived.

The setting was party-like enough, at least. Along with a lovingly modded Bod who'd been drafted in to carry stuff around, Kate had somehow managed to recruit Jeremy to her cause as well, and he'd graciously (because he was still feeling guilty over his doppelganger having made Bod feel bad) offered his financial help for the party. As a result, they had a couple of tables filled with an array of snacks and drinks (regular, Viking, and Egyptian), and the darkening evening was being lightened up by strings of colorful paper lanterns stretched between a few poles they'd brought to the beach for this specific purpose. There was no bonfire as of yet, but Kate wouldn't mind one if someone else wanted to make one their responsibility. She was intending to get a little too tipsy for that.

It was a party, that was what you did.

[ooc: OCD up, have at! All students are welcome and won't be discrimated against based on their floor of residence, promise.]

Alexander certainly had his work cut out for him today. Unfortunately, none of that work had anything to do with the shop.

It had everything to do with all the scouring of the Alexandria library he had done, inspired as he was by his Try Not To Die!!! workshop. Fandom High's library was certainly impressive, there was no doubt about that, but the same could be said exuberantly for Alexandria's, especially after the less than impressive records of the Vikings. Either way, Alexander had collected many notes, copied out countless maps, and now had them spread out on the counter of Things Reborn. He did not want to waste a single second, when every moment could be used in trying to find some hint of his missing Land of the Green Isles.

It was proving fruitless so far, but who know? Perhaps, just around the next corner of research, there would finally be his key.

Things Reborn is open!
