Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

Peter turned up while in a totally stellar mood - really - wearing a t-shirt and jeans and a completely neutral expression on his face that was meant to obscure the rainclouds under the surface.

Why did he have to deal with his parents again?

He completely missed the guy standing by the food and drinks on the other side of the brunch area.

Tony looked around, biting his lip as he waited for Stephanie to arrive and introduce her to his... guest. And Rhodey.

His Mom had made him and Jack go off island to "explore the seat of our democracy" yesterday, but today they were supposed to meet here so his Mom could see how everything was going.

Bobby was a little bit nervous over that, but he was excited to see his friends and maybe meet their families or friends or...whoever.

Tara hadn't planned on coming to any of the big parents' weekend events, but she was hungry and brunch was usually mellow. If nothing else, she could people-watch and be grateful her dad hadn't taken it into his head to show up.

She filled a plate and went to lean against a tree.

Even knowing that his brother could not make it, Faramir had been a little disappointed but he put himself over it as he showed up for the brunch. He was curious to see what visitors had shown up and what better place to do it than when there was food.

Jeremy wasn't going to embarrass his kids! But that was only because he didn't have any. Hopefully he wasn't going to embarrass himself in any way.

He was pretty good at events like these, though, so there was hope. He'd just focus on meeting people. Or at least weaving through the crowd with a smile on his face. It was safe to say he'd gotten over not getting any guests with his sister.

Bod had spent most of the morning walking quietly with Scarlett around the island before they'd stopped at the brunch. She'd wandered off to get some food so Bod was left on his own for the moment, absently drinking from a bottle of water while he walked around.

Grover had stopped by the food table at first but he realized it'd be hard to balance a plate with his crutches so he'd just started hobbling around, checking people out and possibly keeping an eye out for Kelli and Luke.

Miley was around with a plate of food and her best friend Lilly, though the latter kept disappearing to restock on sandwiches. It was probably the last chance she'd get to wear her orange dress (http://www.glamour.com/fashion/2010/10/36-cute-fall-dresses-for-under-100#slide=34) before it got too cold, so she intended to mingle hard to make up for it.

Jackson, as annoyed as he was to have to be here on behalf of his lame little sister, was not going to turn down food.

And if he wasn't dating a b-b-b-b-bikini model, he wouldn't have been able to turn down a chance to flirt with these girls, either. Well, too bad. 'Cause he was.

Aria was cradling a large mug of coffee in one hand and checking her phone as she weaved through the crowd. Nothing. It was like being in one big A blind spot here, and she wasn't complaining.

With any luck Hanna or Emily would find her, and preferably before she walked into someone while trying to multitask a little too excessively.

Emily was around, absorbing the environment. It just seemed so different from Rosewood in so many ways, but in a comfortable way. Idly, she wondered if they had a swim team here.

It was probably a good thing that George hadn't told most people about the whole ... being dead thing, now that she absolutely needed people not to mention it to Reggie.

Okay, then.

So she was going to take her little sister to brunch and ... mingle. With people.

More likely, she and her little sister would sit at a table in the corner and roll their eyes at people.

God, she had missed Reggie.

It was the last day, and Hermione was sorry for that. She liked having Ron and Harry around. She told herself that she wasn't going to be here forever, and that she could easily pop back home to see them, and to stop thinking about it.

She could do that while mingling, really.

Just because Billy's family wasn't here, it didn't mean he was going to skip the brunch. If nothing else, he wanted to have the chance to see who had shown up - if the parents of the people he'd met so far were half as interesting as their kids, they needed to be seen.

Lucrezia had not done nearly enough mingling, and so she and Cesare found their way to the brunch late Sunday morning.

They had gone to church first, and had stopped in long enough for an abbreviated handwavey mass, which Cesare had been good enough to perform. He had offered to hear her confessions, but she had declined.

Peter stood by the food, carefully picking out his meal for the day. He was in a fairly decent mood, having spent last night with Valentine and Ender. It was almost... nice, to have a sense of family with his siblings again, even if the two of them still so obviously distrusted him.

He was smiling a little bit to himself as he picked out some sandwiches.

He had noticed the guy on the other side of the brunch, but he wasn't interested in misbehaving this weekend. It would be of absolutely no benefit to him, and perhaps even less so for tiny-him, much as he'd like to save himself some heartache and embarrassment.

Natalie was here, seated at a table all on her own with a plate of food that she was absently snacking from while she read a book, just occasionally glancing up at people passing by.
