Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

Emily laughed. "Okay, good, because I was gonna say," she giggled. "Did you have a faaavorite?"

"Not really? But my fifth date, Bruce, is hot." Look, Hanna had eyes, okay?

"Not a huge surprise," Emily said with a grin. "A lot of the people here are pretty good-looking."

Hanna raised an eyebrow. "See something you like?"

"Well." Emily blushed. "There's this girl I ~~am SPing with~~ just talked to."

"Really? Who?" Hanna asked excitedly. "I'm nosy. I need to know these things."

"I think her name was Tara?" Emily tried, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

"I know of her but haven't talked to her, yet. She's in Pride," Hanna said. "She's cute."

"Yeah, she's sweet," Emily said shyly. "What about Bruce? What's he like?"

"I only talked to him a few times, but he seems nice enough," Hanna said, shrugging.

"Uh-huh," Emily said, clearly not believing Hanna's casualness. "You so like him."

"He's nice to look at," Hanna said with a grin.

"Then go for it!" Emily encouraged. She paused for a moment, then leaned over to try to set a hand on Hanna's shoulder. "You've got an advantage here, Hanna. You can maybe even pull off a normal relationship, without 'A' messing everything up. The rest of us can't, so you should take advantage of it."

"I don't know if I want a relationship right now. I mean, I'm still thinking about Caleb and..." Hanna smiled, glad for Emily's comfort. "If I do want one, then I will think about it."

She was always grateful for advice from her friend. "Are you sure you can't stay?"

"I'd like to," Emily admitted. "It's so comfortable here, and after talking to Tara and everything..." Sigh. "But we could never afford it. And if I'm ever going to get that scholarship, I have to be at a school where I can swim."

Hanna nodded. "Yeah, that makes sense. There's a pool here, but no team, so...I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too," Emily replied sincerely, moving in to try to hug Hanna. "I'm glad you're in good hands here."

"I really am." Hugs from friends were nice and always things Hanna accepted. "You'll have to keep me up to date on what's going on in Rosewood."

"I totally will," Emily promised. "And you... tell me what's going on here." A grin, then, "And say hey to Tara for me."

"I can do that," Hanna said, nodding. She was going to make it a point to meet Tara now.
