Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

Aria was cradling a large mug of coffee in one hand and checking her phone as she weaved through the crowd. Nothing. It was like being in one big A blind spot here, and she wasn't complaining.

With any luck Hanna or Emily would find her, and preferably before she walked into someone while trying to multitask a little too excessively.

Hanna found her. She, too, had a large mug of coffee. Caffeine was always a necessity. "Hey you."

"Hey!" Aria looked up from her phone immediately and grinned. "Your school does ridiculously good coffee considering it's a school." How was that even possible?

"The food, and by extension drink, is supposed to be horrible. It's practically a rule."

"This place is just different. I can't really explain it." Well, she could, but she'd probably sound like a lunatic. "The coffee has extra caffeine, though it still doesn't hold a candle to Spencer's rocket fuel coffee."

"I don't think I want it to," Aria admitted with a laugh. "If I've got to travel home, its probably for the best I'm not bouncing off the walls."

"That stuff keeps her scary intense," Hanna said, snickering. More seriously, she asked, "So, how's things? How's your brother? Your parents?"

She wanted to ask about Ezra, but she figured that was a touchy subject right now. Besides, she genuinely was curious about Aria's brother after...everything.

"Things are... I think 'tense', is the right word," Aria answered carefully. "I still have no idea what's really going on with Mike. I almost don't want to know."

"I do, but I really, really don't." If that made sense?

"But at least he's...talking to someone?" Hanna said, equally as careful. "Maybe it will help. I mean, if it can help me, it can help anyone, right?"

"Considering how many time we all went and said nothing..." Aria reminded her. She shrugged. "I just hope you're right."

"Do you think you'll come back for a visit any time soon?"

"Yeah, when we were all together and trying to hide certain stuff," Hanna said. She opened up a lot more during private therapy sessions. "Anyway, I guess I'll be home for Thanksgiving, but...considering how pleasant things are here..."

She almost didn't want to go home.

She could understand that. There was something about getting away from Rosewood, and she'd felt the same way in Iceland.

"Well we miss you," Aria told her. "So think about the thanksgiving thing. I'm sure I can talk Ella into having you and your mom over with us."

"Awww, I miss you all, too," Hanna said sincerely. "Thanksgiving with you and your family is a good reason to go home. I'll keep it in mind."
