Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with drama and stuff when you came to visit," Bobby said. Bobby was not very used to saying the word drama when not talking about theatre and it showed. "But I bet she's really glad you're here! And she cares a lot. She was my brother's school assigned little sibling when she got here. She signed me up for this dates thing which was weird but kind of cool!"

Tyler laughed. "Caroline's setting you up on dates? That can't be a good sign." Sounded like her way of giving Bobby someone else to be into. "Let me guess, another tall, chatty, blonde?"

He considered that and shrugged. "It's okay. I'm kind of bad at talking to girls. Only one of them was blonde and tall. But she - wasn't so nice."

"I'm surprised Caroline didn't force you into some made up course on how to deal with girls on a date beforehand," Tyler teased. "But then, my advice would be to go for the not so nice girls. They're usually a lot of fun."

"...please don't suggest that to her," Bobby said, looking worried. If he started to worry about talking to someone then it was going to be the worst thing ever. "I don't think she'd agree. And I don't ever meet any others."

Mostly because the vast majority of girls instantly treated him like a little brother.

"Oh, I'm definitely mentioning it," Tyler said, smirking at the kid. "Just 'cause you said that."

Bobby narrowed his eyes at Tyler. "You wouldn't do that."

Oh, he was pretty certain he would.

Sigh. "Okay, but what if I make sure she's okay if she's upset this week?" Bobby tried to negotiate.

"Well....I guess it'd be good to have someone on the island who I can consider trusting to check up on her," Tyler said thoughtfully. "You guys have class this week?"

"Yeah. We're in, um, badass class tomorrow," he said. Yeah, that sounded really stupid aloud.

"Badass?" Tyler was so laughing at the both of them for that one. "You're kidding me."

"This is a weird school," Bobby said, making a face. "Caroline's the only girl, and it's me and Jack and Jake and some other guy."

"Oh damn, no wonder Forbes likes it here. I don't guess there's a lot of classes that go the other way, huh? I'm kind of intrigued by the idea of a school for freaks." It might make his life easier.

Bobby gave him an odd look because, please, Tyler would want to go to a school for freaks about as much as Jack did.

"There's a lot of classes with mostly girls too," he said with a little grin. "All of the girls are really pretty too. Not that Caroline likes that part so much. It's a good school."

Caroline was a loudmouth, so Tyler generally assumed she mentioned him to all her friends as the werewolf.

"Caroline just doesn't like the competition. But then--nah, I won't scar you with tales." Because no one wanted to be the one to scare the preteen.

"See, you can't do that - all offering a story and then taking it away," Bobby argued.

"Yeah, but you don't want to hear this kind of story. I mean, you guys obviously don't do the big kegger parties here. I feel like I'd be corrupting minors or something." Ignore that Tyler was technically still a minor too.

"...you're like a year older than me," he pointed out, not buying this story. "And there's a bar here that serves everyone so no one needs a kegger."

He'd so never said 'kegger' before.

"Yeah, we went there last night," Tyler answered. "So weird. But sad if it keeps you guys from doing anything crazy." He wasn't even touching the age thing.

"I don't usually do a lot of crazy things," Bobby admitted. Cause that was a surprise.

"Big shocker there, Bobby," Tyler returned. "Remind me why Caroline hangs out with you again?" And just because she was nice could not be it or Tyler was sending in reinforcements.

Tyler's face went all confused pretty much instantly. "Jake's your brother?"

Bobby started laughing at the confusion. "No. My brother's Jack. She didn't date him. I don't think." Now he was wondering, and it wasn't a fun time.
