Parents' Weekend Brunch, Sunday Morning to Afternoon, The Park

As was traditional, the start of the end of Parents' Weekend featured plenty of food, benches, chairs, and coffee in the park. After all, the Student Council couldn't let the parents be weirded out one last time without a feast.

The sky was a little overcast, but the temperatures were still above normal, which was a lucky break for the final day of the weekend.

Angelica took a deep breath to gather her nerve, then let everything out in a rush. "I'm Angelica. Bobby said he told you about what happened but I wanted to say I'm really really sorry and I never would have done anything like that I swear. Bobby's my friend but not like that."

"Oh." Oh. "Oh, sweetheart, it's fine," Sookie rushed to assure her, shaking her head. "I trust him, and it was a funny weekend, and...it's okay. Don't worry. I'm not mad and I wasn't when he told me."

Angelica nodded, relaxing a little now. "Bobby said you weren't mad, but I still felt like I should apologize. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. Well, not exactly. I had my mind controlled once but I was a whole different person this time."

"I only just came here this summer," Angelica admitted, blushing a little that her inexperience was that obvious. "I've seen weird things back home, but nothing like here."

"This place'll get you," Sookie agreed. "I mean, I'm a telepath from a world where vampires are out and common, and I still get surprised here."

"A telepath?" Angelica said, perking up. "Like Ms. Frost? Are you a mutant?" Her voice dropped on the last word by pure instinct.

"Fairy," she corrected, grinning. "But I'm a little like Emma, yeah. 'Cept Emma's a bit more intrusive than I tend to be. I try to keep in my own head. And you don't have to say mutant like it's a bad word, honey."

"I know," Angelica said, but she managed a smile of her own. "It's great to be able to be myself here. Even back at the Academy I had to hide what I was and what I could do from the other students. Just Ms. Frost and the other mutant students and the security people knew what we were."
