The Causeway, Sunday Morning/Afternoon

It was that time of the year again: spring break, with its travels to far away and exotic locales! Like Brazil.

Teachers and students had been asked to assemble at the causeway as per usual. Their portal would be leaving early on into the afternoon, so there was plenty of time to pack up your things and hurry on down to catch it.

So, the question remained: was everyone ready for some fun in the sun? Or was there still too much bodyswappy freaking out to be done?

After the utter shock of waking up in Surreal's body, Tara had spent most of the day yesterday at the Magic Box trying to figure out how to reverse a body swap. So far, there was nothing -- well, unless somebody had a Draconian Katra just lying around, which she doubted.

She'd gone back to her room for a few minutes to pack and was now sitting on her suitcase, squinting at everybody else. Reading auras was harder in Surreal's body than in her own, but she could just about see who else had gotten hit by this one.

This was Quinn's last spring break trip of high school. It could almost make a girl nostalgi, if she was inclined that way. Quinn wasn't, usually, but even she felt a twinge.

She paced restlessly around the causeway, wanting to just get going already. Rio awaited.

Puck wandered over, peering at Quinn's face. "Are you in there?" he asked suspiciously.

He'd heard about the whole bodyswapping thing. Thank hell no one had stolen his beautiful body and mistreated it.

Topher drew his wings tight around him and looked sullen. That was sort of a thing with him today, the sullenness.

Look, his shirt was uncomfortable and yesterday had been absolutely awful except for the Tony part and he just hated everything. Ugh.

Ender approached him with care - partly because he didn't want to startle the poor kid, and partly because he didn't know if this was a one-day stint or a weekender. Ahem.

Rebecca had gotten all the necessary pre-spring-break spa treatments done and was dressed... far more appropriately for Rio than for Fandom right now, let's leave it at that.

And lo, there was a Miley, with her huge glittery pink suitcase and way, way too much enthusiasm to be normal. She hadn't been to Rio since a Hannah tour two years ago, okay? At least she thought it was two years. And at least she thought it was Rio.

Luke had his own body, thank you very much, and that body was excited to go to Brazil. For someone who could go where he wanted with a snap of his fingers he hadn't been to a lot of places.

Simon had his own body, and his own face, and his own... slightly sceptical look on said face. His pale plae face. Which he wasn't sure would withstand something like Brazil.

He'd almost stayed in England, but Alisha had convinced him he needed to see Rio, so... Here he was.

Ender had his bags packed; he'd found this morning that he actually hadn't even realized it was Sunday, which was a bad sign.

He looked like he'd only just gotten out of bed, too - because he had.

"Everybody's wrong." The body was Surreal; the body language ... really wasn't. "And, uh, hi. It's Tara."

Peter wasn't too happy about having to put down his work now that he finally had enough of his brains back together to try and make something of it.

And, okay, everything was one massive clusterfuck right now, but at least it was one he could think about again, and...

... well, this hotel better have internet.

"Olá, Peter," Natalie greeted him, glancing up from her dictionary. "Looking forward to being overly productive in a slightly warmer climate?"

Jeremy had entirely too many pieces of luggage with him.

But he also had a grin on his face so he probably wouldn't mind having to carry all of them himself.

Dany had gone on a bit of a shopping spree to gain new things for her trip -- she was determined to be prepared, this time, and to that end she'd not only bought herself a new swimsuit (modern and appropriate for this world) and packed all her modern clothing and even gotten a suitcase, but there was also a large pet crate sitting beside her parcels today.

As though she'd leave her three dragons at home. She'd claim they were lizards if anyone saw them, yes.

"Are you excited?" Petra asked Dany. "Rio at Carnival is one of those places I've always wanted to go."

It was nothing short of a miracle that Puck still had his shirt on. A cold miracle, but one all the same. He was bouncing on the balls of his feet beside his duffel bag, considering doing some pushups to ensure he looked really, really good for the beach.

Bruce had a couple bags, a sense of being refreshed after spending the past day in his cave, and no idea that people were in different bodies since he had spent the past day in his cave.

He would eventually consider the fact that he was in his own body to be a birthday present from Fandom to him.

Warren was there, and distinctly not Warren shaped, looking... mostly tired. Tired, and a bit disgruntled, and a lot like Topher.

Still.

He wasn't entirely convinced that Rio could make him feel better, all things considered.

And there was Ender, holding half a cup of coffee and shooting Warren a brief glance.

He'd gotten Karla's voicemails and Topher's end of the story just now. Warren was getting offered the coffee.

As she stood waiting for the portal, Natalie had a bag at her feet, a backpack over her shoulder, and a traveller's Portuguese dictionary in her hands.

It wouldn't hurt to know the basic phrases, you know.

Cara had her pack and her own body. Since she'd stuck to her room yesterday she was also unaware of why the latter was even needed in narrative.

Lex was thumbing through a Portuguese/English phrase book. It seemed prudent to have at least a few key ones memorised.

Karla was hunched over and cupping her elbows, standing a little away from everyone else. She was in her own body, thank the Darkness, but everything else was still upside down and inside out and she really. Didn't. Like it.

Topher, Warren, and now Karla - Ender was really making his rounds today, and by now he was occasionally peeking towards where he'd last left Ben to make sure he was still doing okay.

Bobby was not about to let a little thing like looking like Emma Frost make him miss out on the Spring Break trip.

The fact that he felt comfortable enough in her skin to show up in public, when he'd spent a weekend hiding out in his room when he was himself-as-a-girl was... something he was not dwelling on, thank you.

Ben was off to one side with a lightly packed travel bag at his feet.

Not that it was easy to see his face at the moment: he'd pulled the hood of his robe up to shadow it almost entirely, which was going to be an impractical solution to hiding his facial scars once they got to Rio.

Toby was still finding this weird and unsettling, but on the plus side he'd had the first night of sleep uninterrupted by other people's dreams that he'd had since before he could even remember.

Packing had been interesting, because he had no idea if he should bring his clothes or hers or... well. He supposed if they swapped back, they could also just swap luggage. Or maybe someone would be willing to lend him the money to go clothes shopping. Something.

Seifer was leaning against a light post, duffel bag at his feet, watching the goings on as he waited for the portal. He wasn't having fun with other peoples misery, but he was damn glad the weirdness had skipped over him this time.

He was planning on a nice, quiet vacation, full of sand, surf, clubbing, and hot girls. Nothing was going to ruin this week for him.

Tony was there, tired still from working on... something... into the late hours of the night, but he was there.

He also had a cup of coffee to stay sane and awake.

"This is the worst beginning to a school trip ever," Bobby complained. No, he hadn't really considered the fact that Tony most likely had no idea who had just randomly started talking to him.

With a freshly returned magpie on his shoulder, Loki had arrived at the causeway for this trip. Hopefully he would not have to deal with anyone down there who knew his elder self.

It would get him into trouble, no doubt.

Annie had done more sulking yesterday than she thought she was even capable of, and it had continued into this morning. She'd been hoping that she'd magically wake up today with her own face and body, and nope! Nope! After creepy dolls and a week of... last week and everything else lately, Fandom had still saw it fit to keep her in this body, and worrying about Rebecca was doing to hers while she was being a good person and trying to figure out things like whether it burned when she peed.

Don't look at her like that, had you heard radio this week?

But on the bright side- and there was always a bright side- she was going to Rio! ...That was the only bright side, but it worked! So she could look happy to be here, and hope she'd wake up normal tomorrow.
