Setsuna came in that morning for her last shift, writing out a nice note of apology for Moist because she was barely giving him the usual two weeks notice. And the settled in for what would be a usually quiet afternoon, her suitcase and Yuunagi at her feet, ready to leave for the airport as soon as her shift finished.

She eyes went over toward Not Tiddles, narrowing slightly. "I feel no regret in saying that I will not miss you in the slightest."

Not Tiddles' head tilted; the cat was sitting there quietly, tail whipping lazily behind him, looking up at Setsuna. He let out a questioning meow.

"Not one bit."

Another meow, and then the cat got up, moving behind the counter. Setsuna got ready to jerk her leg away from yet another slash of paw, but Not Tiddles wasn't scratching her; instead, he started rubbing up against her leg and purring.

"Oh, don't even," she muttered angrily at him. "You're just doing that because you're happy I'll be gone and because you know I have my sword with me right now until I send it out before I'm finished here today."

[[ETA: on my OOC note: lol, wrong schedule. I'm around for a bit after all. ]]

Setsuna found it difficult to wrap her mind around the fact that this might be her last time, ever, bartending. It seemed like some great intangible thing, and, really, perhaps it wasn't. Perhaps she might. It was unlikely that she would ever have a need to find a more...citizen job again, but there was comfort in the knowledge that she could.

And with that, Setsuna was offering half price on drinks she considered her specialties: anything fruity and, of course, the infamous alcoholic bubble tea drinks.

Well, infamous for her, anyway.

Besides serving the drinks, which she didn't mind and would actually miss a lot, not much work could be expected from Setsuna tonight. She didn't mean to appear lazy or uninspired, really, but she was too busy brooding thinking to really get the urge to do much here. She felt it would be pointless. After all, she'd handwavily made the call to Elder Konoe and made it official. He should enroll her at Mahora for the next semester instead of Fandom.

The decision had been both difficult and simple; she should have done it a long time ago, but she would miss this place, the people, even working at the bar. Although, really, she thought, smiling slightly, she knew the girls of 3-A would probably insist she keep it up. Anything for a party, those girls. She missed them. Most of them, and, of course, Ojou-sama...

She sighed, pushing up from where she was leaning on the bar, and gave an idle glance around. Her dye had finally started taking again; her eyes were back to brown. She was back to 'herself' again.

It felt good.

A long time ago, Drax had set today as the Fandom Multi-Cultural Festival. As the date got closer and he had to deal with things like prankster fairies and rabbits made of chocolate, Drax realized that he really preferred mindless violence over multi-cultural understanding.

As such, Drax went ahead and spent school funds on adult-sized Sock 'em Boppers, Inflatable Pummel Sticks, and Inflatable Sumo Suits.

Several areas were set up, one for dueling, one for playing Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, and a large area by the pond for a free-for-all.

Drax posted three rules in plain sight everywhere: 1) There are no rules. Just fight. 2) But if you fight without the ridiculous inflatable padding, Drax may be forced to hit you. 3) And if you try to hurt anyone, Drax may be forced to hit you.

Sure he was wearing Sock 'em Boppers over his hands. But still. A cosmically powered punch dampened by air and vinyl is still pretty impressive.

In any event, it was time to rumble in a safe, padded way.

[OOC: Seriously, this was going to be a multi-cultural festival, but it was decided that punching people would be more fun. Seems like something good to end the summer on.

I just want to take a minute to give a big thanks to everyone who's participated in the Friday Events this summer. It's been a blast to coordinate them and I hope you've all had fun playing in them!]

A very significant part of Setsuna woke up that morning not ever wanting to leave her room. Most of it had to do with the realization and horror at what she'd done that weekend, but a still significant part of it was from sheer physical inability. It was the waking up with a sudden inability to move without pain that made it click in Setsuna's head exactly what had happened.

For the most part, it seemed, she was back to normal. Probably went back to normal sometime yesterday, didn't realize it, and now her body was paying for attempting to do...something that was beyond her abilities without the increased power.

...How exactly had all that happened? Trying to puzzle it out and figuring she should talk to Lucifer, she realized that she'd skirted out of all her employment responsibilities last weekend. She...really shouldn't skirt out of another one...

And she was late; oh, God, so late, and too tired to fly in. Not enough time to dye her hair, dig out her contacts, but after parading about like this all weekend, what would even be the point!

It was a good thing that once Setsuna did get to the post office, she had nothing but time. To think. To ponder. To emo commiserate.

The Post Office is open.
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Setsuna found herself distracted again as she settled in to start her work behind the bar. She couldn't quite explain it, but she felt restless. She felt a bit like something was going to happen, and she hated that feeling. Hopefully, a little bit of work would get her mind off that feeling of impending doom. It really put a damper on a girl's mood, that.

The Devil's Nest is open.

Kabuto was feeling his OCD tonight. He cleaned the entire establishment from top to bottom, taking out some of his nagging frustrations by making things neat and orderly. It helped, actually.

His main task completed, he moved behind the bar to clean glasses that might, possibly, have invisible specs of dust on them.
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Today's boredom at her post office shift had Setsuna discovering something very important. Not Tiddles hated paper magic birds. Especially when Setsuna could have them take dives at the cat of evil from high above and when Setsuna made them out of junk mailers that went to people addressed as Current Resident and Mailbox Owner.

The Post Office is open.
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Setsuna was a little bit calmer tonight. A little bit. A handwavey all-day call back home to Ojou-sama did wonders...until Elder Konoe would get the cell phone bill, at any rate.

Any particularly colourful or girly drinks were on special tonight, as a nod to the...assumed success of the girlkissy rebellion that she'd missed last night. Not that she had any interest at all in knowing how it really went, of course. None. None at all...

The Devil's Nest is open.
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Elbows on the bar, chin in hands, Setsuna leaned forward and frowned out at the club. Her fingers tapped a little against her cheeks, dashed with pink. If anyone asked, she would deny left and right that she was moping thinking about what she was missing tonight. Really, though, she was thinking about why she was thinking about it so much. Not that she would ever in a million years want to participate in something like that. At all. She was mostly bitterly fuming that such a thing would exist. It was awful. Pure moral depravity and sensationalism. Fetishism.

...And she couldn't be a part of i--

Wasn't! Wasn't going to be a part of it! Wouldn't! Ever! Ever, ever, ever...!

She had to fume. She turned around. "Musubi?" The other demon turned her head toward Setsuna expectantly and Setsuna's face burned red. "Nevermind! Nevermind! I, uh, just, uhh....."

"Might be a good idea to just work...away from each other tonight," she muttered. "Just...'cause...."

[[ when did I get a social life? Won't be around until late-late, so please don't mind SP, 'cause I don't! come laugh at the ultimate closet lesbian missing the girlkissy. So cruel, that Fate fellow.... ]]

Setsuna had a little bit of foresight today; she'd brought along with her a nice plate of sushi (yes, sushi, shut up) for Not Tiddles as a sort of peace offering, and explained to the feline from hell that it could have all the sushi to itself if it agreed to be good and nice and not scratch at her calves today because these were new socks and she'd like to keep them nice.

It worked.

For about the first hour of her shift.

The Post Office is open!
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
There wasn't anything too special about today. Just another night at the bar, really. Setsuna's weekends here were seeming so slow to her that she worried that she might almost be getting bored with it. Between any orders, she leaned forward a little on bar, drifting off a little in thought, trying to think about what might make things more interesting.

Most of them involved blades and blood and left her a little...worried about herself, really. So she bothered Musubi and they could talk about kabuki art. A little less disturbing, that. To an extent.

The Devil's Nest is open!
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Setsuna was working on her throwing and catching behind the bar, trying to do neat little tricks with the bottles and glasses. And, under Musubi's cool watch, she knew better than to mess up. She worked best under pressure, after all. No broken glasses tonight.

Somewhere not far from Fandom, a bus full of very smart people was broken down. One decided to continue on the path to the island and tell them what was going on (he didn't have a cell phone, unfortunately) while the others attempted to fix the bus. Unfortunately, not a one of them had a degree in bus repair.

In Fandom, Dean Drax was disappointed that it was the day of the Academic Fair and none of his guests had shown up yet. Only one of them had even sent anything, some guy named Dex. Apparently he was going to lecture on aeronautics and robotics so he sent a model airplane. Of course. Because that was very scholarly.

Nevertheless, Drax put the airplane up at a stand in the park under a sign reading "Airplane. Feel smarter yet?" He feared that this was probably going to be considered to be the peak of his deanship.

After the model had been in place for about twenty minutes, Drax noticed something odd. There was a slight hissing sound throughout the park. He looked around and noticed that there were some very large snakes lurking. They seemed friendly enough, though. Drax sought one out and picked it up. It stared at him for a moment before its eyes glowed blue. Just then, Drax heard fanfare that lasted about half a minute. With a feeling of dread at the way this was going to turn out, Drax looked up. All he managed to say was, "It's--!"

And then a giant foot came from the sky and squished Drax into the ground with an inappropriate farty noise. When he would come to much later, Drax would truly hate today.

[OOC: Due to a lack of guest stars for the academic fair, the plan has changed a tiny bit, barely noticeable. There are moddable pythons in the park. They're friendly, if a little odd, and if they touch you (which they will certainly be trying to do) you will participate in a Monty Python sketch/scene. Feel free to pair up or go solo and rip off Flying Circus or the movies for this. Go nuts but remember, it's a comm, no NSFW.

The snakes will only be appearing in the park, but you're free to wander out into town after being Pythonized and interact with bewildered people there. Please note that once you've roughly completed the sketch/scene, you will be back to normal and remember what you just did.

Please note that while it may be clear to anyone really paying attention that the model airplane is in fact a cursed object that has brought this silly fate upon the park, the pythons will prevent anyone from getting to it. If you try, you will make a python go all glowy eyes and you will be turned into a Gumby. There is a plan for getting it all taken care of, I swear.

Oh, and Monty Python itself should probably be metaed if you feel you must compare these events to the acts of the comedy troupe, but I'd prefer it if you didn't touch on that at all, pretty please.

So, have fun! YouTube, Wikipedia, and Googling online transcripts are your friends! The sketches listed in the OCD threads are merely suggestions. You can go with any Python sketch you want. Doubling up on the same sketch is fine.

Dex is from Sky Captain, btw. Done with OOC notes, I swear.]

Setsuna yawned a little behind her hand, starting to think that maybe she hadn't gone out a little bit last night, and slumped a bit on the counter to have her usual staredown with Not Tiddles. The cat seemed to really be on the ball today, to a point where Setsuna was too busy thinking about things that she used a nice little flare-up of demon power in her eyes. That definitely got the cat to slink away easily.

But then she was bored. And Gladys always won staring contests. Always.

Setsuna was in an unusually bright mood today; it had something to do with the handwavey hour and a half long phone call she'd had earlier with Konoka-Ojou-sama, where Setsuna didn't really say much as her best friend back home babbled endlessly, excitedly about that new Barry Plotter book. Setsuna didn't even really understand half of it, but she could listen to Ojou-sama go on and on about paperclips and she'd still be entertained.

Still, it also left her incredibly distracted, so she took on most of the smaller tasks while Musubi offered to serve most of the drinks, about to tell that the little half-demon's mind was a million miles away.

Setsuna was experimenting slightly with drink combinations again, although she knew she probably would never come up with something as successful and brilliant as the bubble tea mixes. It was, however, a good way to pass the time, and she was offering them as specials. She figured that a lowered price was the least she could do for anyone brave enough to actually try them.

The Park was rather busy this afternoon. Aside from a large picnic table littered with all sorts of delicious treats that passers-by were welcome to help themselves to, several activities were set up.

There were jello wrestling and custard wrestling arenas (really large inflatable wading pools), potato sacks for a potato sack race, a few frisbees and balls to throw around and a table set up for a hot dog eating competition.

All welcome!

[ETA: Weather is cloudy. No rain!]

It was rather strange, waking up in the morning, no longer having the dinosaurs there. Setsuna had flown into the post office out of recent habit and got halfway there before she realized that it wasn't necissary and then leaned against the counter in mild shock. The weekend seemed almost like a weird dream. Yes, even after managing to get past and clean up the barricade on the door. All that flying. Too much flying. It left her a little exhausted. And it was a bit weird how she didn't get a second thought to the barricade.

No, that wasn't her sleeping. Setsuna was just...resting her eyes.

Thank goodness Not Tiddles was there to rake against her calves and keep her up. But waking her up reminded her of her hunger. Her eyes fell down toward Not Tiddles.

The cat smartly found his way to the back room.

The post office is open!
[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com
Having missed so much work lately for jobs, Setsuna wasn't going to let a little thing like patrolling the disappointingly empty skies keep her from work. Besides, after having burned the place down once, she almost felt like she owed it to Lucifer to keep her chi up and Yuunagi with her under the bar in case any dinosaurs did feel like attacking here. She hoped, though, if anything, perhaps her being here could supply a place where people could at least feel safe, if they wanted to avoid the dinosaurs but couldn't get anywhere else.

The Devil's Nest is open.

[[ the word from the devil: he's keeping a careful eye on the place, so that any dinos, in their primitive pea-brains, would come near the Nest, feel that it's the type of place that means death, ala T-Rex lair, and avoid it if they have any sense of self-preservation, but a very good safe-haven for everyone else because of that. And the sword-happy bartender, too. :) ]]

After they'd found a good, clear spot (Setsuna had rather insisted that they go trekking through places there weren't paths first; it didn't feel right otherwise), the sun was starting to set on the girls as they set up their camp. Setsuna helped Ami with the tent a little, but left it mostly to her so she could get used to the set-up for her scouting class; she mostly worked on getting a safe firepit and getting it started. Very easy, considering that her only innate magical ability was fire and all.

And there they were. Camping. And Setsuna didn't even have to ask Ami to put up the tarp.

As Setsuna came in to open the post office today, she narrowed her eyes at Not Tiddles as the cat sat there on the counter, tail swishing back and forth innocently. She wondered if Karal had brought that person he said would talk to Not Tiddles in yet, and there was a moment where they seemed to have had a staring contest for supremacy. Finally, the cat moved, hopping off the counter and Setsuna let out a short laugh of victory and took her rightful spot.

True, Not Tiddles had moved because the sound of Gladys pouring the food into the bowl from the back room had drifted in, but a victory was still a victory. The cat's soul, clearly, was weak.

Setsuna couldn't help but try to put her whole arm and muscle into cleaning the glasses today. Which turned out problematic, with a lot of glass on the floor when she forgot herself and worked a bit too much of her whole arm and muscle into it. It might result in her not even knowing some of the new kids until the end of the semester, as usual, but she never was very big on large gatherings.

After what seemed like forever to dry off, Setsuna came in to open the Nest, and getting everything organized the way she liked it before settling in for a night of work. She rather missed it this last weekend. And she didn't even have to mix drinks one handed today, either.

She may also have still had a water pistol with her. Just in case. Not that she couldn't just spray anyone down with the drink-dispensing hose things. Somehow, though, she imagined that Lucifer would look down on that sort of use of alcohol in his establishment.

In the morning, the event coordinators came to start setting up the park for today's event. They set up a bunch of extra benches and picnic tables for people to congregate at and marked off the run area to keep it clear for the participants. They also set up water stations along the race way just in case anybody needed them. This wasn't going to be a marathon, or even an actual race, but if anybody didn't want to stop running they might want the water.

The park was decorated with ribbons and bunting for the event. Mostly in teal. There were tables set up with modable picnic-type foods and a special table set up for a DJ to play music.

Alphonse was pleased to know that, before he came in for the day, that he was not getting anymore strange voicemails. Thankfully he was familiar with the last time this happened, so he decided not to touch his phone for the time being, and as for the messages...

Yeah, there was definitely a lot of facepalm-worthy mixups in there.

Alphonse came in by himself this week, unlike the last, which made setting up go by faster. Once he was done with that, he settled in behind the counter, picked up something to read, and then the entire world fell over from the shock.

What an odd, depressing, flail worthy day. With the litany of calls received and sent today, it was no wonder that Setsuna nearly forgot that she had work today. Alphonse hadn't called her back yet, and that had her worried and rather focused on the possibility of it ringing.

Well, actually, reading might not be the best word for it. More like he was boggling over the book and working himself into a small panic attack. Those were some... interesting pictures there.
