The Great Fandom Fight, The Park, Friday Afternoon

A long time ago, Drax had set today as the Fandom Multi-Cultural Festival. As the date got closer and he had to deal with things like prankster fairies and rabbits made of chocolate, Drax realized that he really preferred mindless violence over multi-cultural understanding.

As such, Drax went ahead and spent school funds on adult-sized Sock 'em Boppers, Inflatable Pummel Sticks, and Inflatable Sumo Suits.

Several areas were set up, one for dueling, one for playing Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, and a large area by the pond for a free-for-all.

Drax posted three rules in plain sight everywhere: 1) There are no rules. Just fight. 2) But if you fight without the ridiculous inflatable padding, Drax may be forced to hit you. 3) And if you try to hurt anyone, Drax may be forced to hit you.

Sure he was wearing Sock 'em Boppers over his hands. But still. A cosmically powered punch dampened by air and vinyl is still pretty impressive.

In any event, it was time to rumble in a safe, padded way.

[OOC: Seriously, this was going to be a multi-cultural festival, but it was decided that punching people would be more fun. Seems like something good to end the summer on.

I just want to take a minute to give a big thanks to everyone who's participated in the Friday Events this summer. It's been a blast to coordinate them and I hope you've all had fun playing in them!]

Off to the side there is a roped-off "No Violence Zone." Here you can safely mingle without fear of an inflatable pummel stick hitting you.

And Eve mingled. Even though she was slightly disappointed at no pummel sticks in the NVZ. Because what was the fun of mingling at this event without them?

There's a bunch of inflatable weaponry to use. Gloves, "pummel sticks," and lots of them.

I love saying "pummel sticks."

Over by the duck pond is a section devoted to a large-scale melee. Just wander in and punch people with your air-padded fists. Or stick. Or your sumo suit.

And if you get thrown in the pond, you'll float!

Jaina kind of loved Fridays for this very reason. Also, she had a pummel stick and wasn't afraid to use it.
