Jess got everything set out so he could open the bookstore, and settled in by the register like every other weekend. But instead of reading a book like he usually did, he was trying to discreetly flip through a catalog of community college courses. It was crazy to think that he was considering more school as a valid option for his time in the future, but at least he was being crazy where no one would probably catch him.

[open and ocd-free!]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
A year ago, Jess would have freaked out at stepping outside and getting nailed with a falling Pop Tart. Now, he just considered it encouragement to eat breakfast, and as he made his way through town, he made sure to grab a few more of the pastries before they hit the ground. Setting out food for customers to eat seemed kind of silly, so Jess just settled in at the register with his bounty and his book of the day.

[open and ocd free!]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
The weather was nice enough that Jess had the door to the shop open, partly for his own sake, and partly for the small chance that the smell of books would entice people to come in and want to read or something. He got the tea and treats setup ready, and then settled back to his usual spot at the register.

[The OCD is on vacation!]

The dance was still in full swing. It was still brightly decorated, the music was still pumping and the punch was completely spiked.

Have fun!

[This is post two. WAIT FOR THE OCD OR I WILL SEND YOU TO A FAKE TIMEZONE! OCD IS UP! No one has to be banished to a fake timezone! Have fun!]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
Jess knew that there was going to be a dance tonight, but he wasn't really thinking about it. He was much more occupied with the new book he'd picked up, and with occasionally keeping an eye out for customers.

[Totally open on time, for reals. >.>]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
Jess had gotten curious about the new books that were shipped in during the week, and amazingly enough, he'd managed to find one that looked interesting. He wasn't comfortable enough yet to put his feet up on the counter while he read, but he was getting closer.

[Open and OCD free.]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
After the embarrassing mess with Joan, Jess had spent the last few days hiding out and trying to keep his thoughts clean. Living with a hot girl made that infinitely more difficult, so he was almost glad for the excuse to go to the bookstore for work. Reading true crime novels about adulterous murders might not have been the best way to spend his time, but it made him feel a little better deep down.

[The OCD is in the backseat with its boyfriend.]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
Jess was a little out of breath when he got to the shop, having raced over on the trip through town. Just because he didn't see any alligators didn't mean it was impossible for any of them to still be out there, and considering his history with violent animals, he wasn't going to take any chances. Even when he got inside, he still peeked out the windows every once in a while to see if it was still safe.

[OCD-free!]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
Jess was back at work today, and when everything looked like it was in the right place, he set out the drinks and pastries and hit the science fiction books, seeing if he could find anything that didn't make his head hurt from just reading the synopsis. It was a long shot, but he had plenty of time to try.

[OCD-free!]
[identity profile] noboynextdoor.livejournal.com
It was the first day of work at Book Haven for Jess, and he had to admit that he'd kind of been looking forward to it. This was the first job he had that didn't involve constantly moving around and fetching things for people he didn't like, and he was pretty sure he could deal with whatever else Millie, or Fandom, threw at him. Today Jess still had the whole store to explore, and that was pretty awesome as far as he was concerned.

[OCD on a weekend? Ha, of course not!]

It was the day before graduation. The day before pomp and circumstance, diplomas, smiling seniors and proud guests. What better way to spend that day then partying the night away? That's right, tonight was the night of the senior lock in! Many NPC workers had been busy in town, cleaning up and setting up an abandoned warehouse for the event.

Now, the front of the warehouse was lit up with neon signs and stanchions that would lead the seniors into a huge building where not one speck of floor space wasn't being used for something fun. There was loud music pumping through the building and strobe lights were swirling around the area, lighting up the room in blues, reds, greens, yellows and various other colors. Decorations of all kinds painted the walls, giving the room a party like atmosphere.

Of course, it would just be a regular ole party, right? Nothing surprising would happen, right? Oh, of course. No surprises. Riiiiiight.

The senior lock in was open and it was time for the seniors to get their party on!

[Posted early for super duper SP! This is for seniors only. OCD is good to go! Have fun! Comments are off so, if you need me, ping the OOC thread or email me!

ETA: And there's something going down here! Have fun there and please please continue to play in the party beforehand. It's your party, seniors, please enjoy it!

ETA 2: And the thread to get free is here!. Hack it up! It's moddable!]

Lacey had heard all about the kid invasion this time, oh, yes. For once. Yes, she was shocked too.

That was why the buffet table was set out today, loaded down with mac and cheese, Jell-O, and other kid-friendly foods, and Lacey herself was being as scarce as possible. It wasn't that she didn't think the kids were cute; there was just a risk of balloons.

Today's Special
Kids' Buffet Time!

Luke's is open and liable to get a little messy today.

"The sun'll come out tomorrow!" a six-foot plus man wearing Jedi robes sang as he twirled around the benches and reached down to pet an imaginary dog.

When the venom wore off, Anakin was going to find a way to kill Zoe, but for now, Annie was just a bright little ball of red-headed optimism.

"Bet'yer bottom dollar that tomorrrow, there'll be sun..."

[OOC: Mwhahaha.]

It was a little cool and dreary, but the rain seemed to be staying at bay, so Joan and Jess headed to the park for their lunch.

Joan had packed what she hoped was a decent picnic.

[Joan's here for Jess and their Cheerleading Auction date, but feel free to use the post for your own park needs. I'll be on and off all day as one of the roomies is turning 21.]
[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com
Joan had made handwavy plans to hang out with Jess after classes today. For some reason because their muns are cruel, this ended up with them deciding to go bowling.

So Joan was hanging out at the bowling alley, waiting for Jess and munching on some Lucky Charms. It occurred to her that eating cereal that fell from the sky might not be the smartest choice in Fandom, but she decided that after spending a weekend as a five year old, she didn't much care.

[Joan's here for Jess and almighty SP, but the bowling alley is open for anyone!]

Even with the sun out, it was still fairly chilly on the causeway, creating a brisk reminder of what everyone would be leaving behind for the next week as they traveled through the Caribbean.

As the students, teachers, and guests gathered to wait for the portal to Florida, everyone was given a copy of their lodging information and a trip itinerary to peruse:

Obi-Wan had much to ponder from this weekend. He found it was much easier to ponder things with a supply of pastries, which was why he was at a table at J,GOB, trying to explain to the squirrels at the doorway that no, he would not be sharing with them, and no, he didn't care how cute they were.

[OOC: For all your vague Jedi Master-y needs!]

Marion hadn't noticed anything weird going on in town today. Then again, Marion wasn't exactly the most social of people these days and wouldn't have known the difference between one crazy person and another.

It had been a long weekend for Jess, and with no classes to go to, he had every intention of spending the day pretending Luke and his mom had never been here. For now, he was at one of the corner tables in the Perk, nursing a cup of coffee and trying to drown out the sounds of anyone else as he read.

Harvey didn't have too much trouble arranging the brunch in the park. Between the help of the rest of the StuCo members and oddly enough, Marshall (apparently he had a thing for brunch), Harvey hardly had to do a thing. And isn't that what being president is really about?

There was a harvest theme in the tent, with the tablecloths and napkins all in reds, yellows and oranges. Marshall even hand-made the autumn-themed centerpieces on the tables. There was also, of course, every kind of brunch food imaginable set up at the buffet table. There was probably even foods there that didn't even qualify as brunch. Harvey had a hankering for pizza earlier.

A sign was posted outside the tent:

Welcome Parents, Relatives and Friends!
Enjoy Sunday brunch with us!

As the sun went down, the twinkling fairy-lights that had been strung around the park took its place as a light source. Not nearly as big, but it was enough to see the food and the dance area by, with the help of some strategically placed torches in the shape of old-fashioned gaslamps. Nor nearly as warm, but there were carefully-controlled braziers here and there to take the nip out of the evening air.

Around the dance area and along the buffet tables there was a proliferation of orange, brown and rust-coloured harvest flowers that might have bordered on excessive, as if someone got rather excited about being offered a job this important, but it was still within the bounds of good taste.

[OCD is now up. Have fun!]

By some act of Fandom, the weather was behaving itself. Any clouds or rain the weather forecasters had blathered about on the news seemed to have skipped over the entirety of Fandom Island. It was a perfect afternoon in October, just the right temperature in which to spend the day outside with pleasant company. Or even relatives.

A wide variety of sumptuous food was spread out on long tables at one end of the park. In the center were plenty of comfortable blue and gold tables and chairs perfect for sitting, chatting, and eating. To the other end of he park was the registration table where visitors could sign in and pickup their name tags.

Just above the registration area was a bright banner announcing the start of a hopefully calm weekend:
Welcome to Parents Weekend 2008

Luke paced around the perimeter of the pond, brain frantically trying to come up a way to salvage the complete fiasco Jaina's wedding had turned into.

The press wouldn't cover it, of course--there were benefits to owning most of the newspapers in the region--but the Winchesters would never, ever stop holding this over their heads.

There had to be a way to recover their honor. The nunnery hadn't worked before, but maybe it would now. Luke would call his sister--Jaina and Brooke's mother--but she was off with one of her numerous boytoys and was out of contact.

He'd have to come up with a plan himself. He was a Skywalker. They were good at this stuff.

Rory left the wedding in a haze, finally locating somewhere before she fainted. She wept and wept in the coffee shop, knowing full well that for the health of the future Skywalker heir, she could not indulge in any of the lovely Colombian roast from her native land of Colombia.

...not that she knew the child was a Skywalker, of course. DUN DUN DUN.

[open if you like; expecting one.]

It was entirely possible that going out and being gluttonous after Ethics class meant he had kind of missed the point, but Jess was hungry and not in the mood for anything too healthy. So, it was off to the bakery he went, for something to eat while he scribbled notes to himself in the book he was re-reading.

When Robin came into work, feeling all attractive and swaggery and boobless, she found a very disgruntled young woman behind the bar.

When she was done laughing, she assured him she'd be calling him Tina all night, and then wrote up a little sign.

Girly drinks and manly beer -- half price!
Or free if you tell who you are right away, thanks

And with that, she went back to admiring her own reflection in a back of a spoon.

Brooke showed up at Caritas early, finding it empty so far. She looked at her watch, and decided if the door was open, then it couldn't hurt to just stop in and see if anyone minded her topping off a totally empty glass in exchange for the troubles that came with a total lack of service.

Which meant that she was behind the bar when Tino came in and started setting up. And when she waved and tried to get to the other side of the bar, he blocked her way, because no way in hell was he dealing with some of these crazies by himself.

So huh, looked like Brooke was working here today. Yay for access to all the alcohol?

Since the weather was decent, Jess decided to get out of his room and take his reading outside. Listening to the radio made him glad he'd brought his own books, and didn't have to rely on checking things out of the library. Of course, listening to the radio also meant he knew about a certain new couple that he really, really didn't want to think about. Hence the nice, complicated, distracting reading.

Not wanting to spend the better part of his day sitting inside and moping, Sam had decided to take Scout for an extra long walk. Scout seemed to sense Sam's need to be outside, away from his room and all the things that reminded him of Dawn, and was currently taking Sam on his third trip around the lake, searching for the perfect tree.
