Fast Eddie's - Tuesday After Classes

Joan had made handwavy plans to hang out with Jess after classes today. For some reason because their muns are cruel, this ended up with them deciding to go bowling.

So Joan was hanging out at the bowling alley, waiting for Jess and munching on some Lucky Charms. It occurred to her that eating cereal that fell from the sky might not be the smartest choice in Fandom, but she decided that after spending a weekend as a five year old, she didn't much care.

Jess was still picking cereal out of his hair as he came inside, but he managed a smile when he spotted Joan. "I guess this weekend wasn't enough. We can't have more than one day of normality," he said in greeting.

Joan laughed. "At least this is moderately healthier. I am pretty sure I ate my weight in ice cream this weekend."

"Were you a kid?" Jess asked. "I guess I can't complain too much since I stayed the same."

"Lucky. I was five. And I really liked ice cream. And candy."

Joan sighed. "I had a stomachache all day yesterday."

Jess smirked at Joan. "I'm surprised there wasn't a candy shortage with everyone running around without parental supervision," he said. "Are you feeling better now?"

"Yeah, I am," Joan said with a smile. "I actually craved vegetables yesterday."

"Are you sure that means you're feeling better?" Jess teased. "Because that doesn't sound right."

Joan laughed. "Well, I'm totally in the mood for a cheeseburger now, so I think it's all balanced out."

"I'm pretty sure they have cheeseburgers here," Jess said, looking around a little. "Am I setting myself up to get beaten if I tell you I can't remember the last time I went bowling?"

"No, because I can't remember the last time I went either," Joan admitted.

In fact, she really had no idea how they ended up deciding to go bowling.

"At least it's fair if we both suck at it," Jess pointed out.

"True," Joan agreed. "So, bowling first and food later?"

"That sounds good," Jess said with a nod. "Unless you suddenly start craving vegetables again, in which case, we can take a break."

Joan rolled her eyes and reached over to playfully punch his shoulder. "Never going to let me live that one down, are you?"

Jess laughed and put his hand over his arm like the punch had really hurt. "I might bring it up occasionally. Unless I'm gonna get hit every time."

"Yes, you will," Joan joked. "So you should totally forget I ever mentioned it."

"Didn't you ever learn that violence isn't the answer?" Jess joked. "There's other methods of getting your way."

"There are?" Joan asked. "How do you get your way, Jess?"

Jess was pretty sure that saying he rarely got his way wasn't the answer Joan was looking for. "I use this thing called logic," he said instead. "It doesn't work on everyone, but it's pretty close."

"Logic. I'm not sure I'm familiar with that term."

Yes, she was joking. But damn if sometimes she didn't feel like it was true.
