The Perk [evening]

Rory left the wedding in a haze, finally locating somewhere before she fainted. She wept and wept in the coffee shop, knowing full well that for the health of the future Skywalker heir, she could not indulge in any of the lovely Colombian roast from her native land of Colombia.

...not that she knew the child was a Skywalker, of course. DUN DUN DUN.

Jess came into the Perk looking for coffee, but all thoughts of delicious roast faded when he saw his darling Rory and the state she was in. "Rory?" he said, going to her side. "What's wrong?"

He had noticed, but he figured it wouldn't be polite to say anything. "Is Anakin not happy about that?" he asked. "He's an idiot if he isn't - any man would be blessed to have you bear his child."

Jess reached down to take Rory's hands and looked into her eyes. "If it's true, I promise, I'll take care of you and our child, however you need it. We can get you away from Anakin and finally be together like we were meant to be."
