When Rey came in today, she found that the woodchucks weren't around, not there were several stuffed ones lying around in various places. Which raised several questions.

Did the stuffies belong to the woodchucks? Were they woodchucks themselves? If so, would they change back? Were the stuffies some weird decoy plan so that they could sneak out unnoticed?

It was possible it was just to mess with her.

As far as Rey knew, Anakin was still a cat, so she wasn't expecting company. She also wouldn't mind it. Maybe it was restlessness, maybe she was bored, but she needed to be in here and doing something today.

So if you needed her, she'd be upside down, balancing on one hand, eyes closed and focusing. She also her her phone on the floor with the stopwatch running, but that was just for fun.

After last weekend, which she was having a lot of feelings about and not dealing with, Rey www is walking the course and looking for ways to punch it up some. That was a dangerous thing when you were dealing with Anakin, but maybe it was needed.

And maybe it said something that the things she was coming up with were "this thing shoots projectiles now" or "I don't know, fire?"

It had been… wow, four years since Leia died. At that time, Rey was still very much learning, doubting herself, mostly untested. She'd grown a bit since then.

Naturally, Leia wanted to see how she'd progressed, so Rey set up the remotes and the drones so she could run the course. Which now had lava. And floor projectiles that if she wasn't careful, could shoot her right into it. There wasn't really a chance of that now, unless she was having a very off day. She knew to bat the remotes away while she was making her slow way through the net. The things that were randomized, she knew how to handle. It wasn't easy for her, but it wasn't that hard.

And when she finished, she jumped down off the top of the climbing wall, looking like she was expecting a grade.

It was cleanup day at the warehouse. Cleaning up after the unsurprisingly chaotic woodchucks, clearing off the course because the weather controls could do some damage over time, things like that. There was actually something relaxing and mindless about it that was needed sometimes.

Though she was giving death glares at the woodchucks anytime she heard a noise. One day. Give her one clean day, guys.

It was back to normal after a few weeks, so Rey was back in the warehouse, and it was definitely a meditation day. The last few weeks had been great, but they'd also left her with a lot of things to think about. Things she strived avoiding thinking about but it was getting harder and harder not to.

If the woodchucks were here, they were keeping quietly to themselves for once, so Rey could just focus on her breathing, and not what that noise was or whatever.

Rey pulled up to the warehouse with coffee and bagels from JGOB, and set them down on one of the crates while she set up for training today.

Every time she turned her back, one woodchuck got closer and closer to the bag, freezing instantly when she looked over. So she did it a few more times than necessary just to see if he'd chicken out.

The woodchuck remained undeterred.

"I don't even know if you can have that," she said.

Rey came into the warehouse to find a note written in terrible woodchuck-y handwriting (yes, she could tell) saying "GONE FISHING."

She had several questions about this. How long would they be gone, where were they going, do woodchucks even eat fish? Or were they just catching them and throwing them back, which was a whole other thing she do not understand.

At least it'd be quiet.

Rey had been gone last weekend, and she'd returned with a shiny new holocron. Well, it was not shiny or new but like most of her things, it was simply new to her. She'd gotten through some of it earlier in the week, but it was slow going when she'd been making notes as she went.

She'd brought it to the warehouse today, both so Anakin could see it, and because she actually did need to get through it all.

Rey didn't understand the superstition around Friday the 13th, but apparently the woodchucks did. She walked in to a broken mirror near the crate sitting area, and a random ladder in the middle of nothing. She didn't know why these things were there, and she wasn't asking. She was just getting to work with the dustpan (the Force saved her from actual sweeping) and watching as the woodchucks tossed salt over their shoulders before walking under the ladder. Where were they going? Also not asking.

"You can just go around," she said, deeply confused.

Rey came in to find that the woodchucks had again gotten into the weather controls and had somehow made an ice rink out of a portion of the course. They were apparently figure skating.

She was totally going to fall running on ice. Whatever, she'd done worse.

Before any kind of laundry fun today, Rey was at the warehouse, practicing some fine detail work. She'd gotten some sugar crystals- not a lot, she didn't want to be wasteful- and had spread them across the floor, doing things like moving them into patterns, or picking up very specific ones one at a time.

She was now on the floor, very focused as she tried to split one of the crystals into two. If she could crack a big rock, she could crack something this small, it was just a matter of adjusting.

She would likely never need to use this, but you never know!

Rey had felt just enough of a draft this morning that she'd gotten up into the rafters for a little bit of maintenance on the hole they'd patched last year. You know, from when a boulder had gone through it. This was how Rey realized that some things in Fandom sounded weirder more time away you had from them.

If you needed her, you'd have to look up. Way up. And she might ask you to toss her the duct tape from there. Not because she couldn't just levitate it up, or even because she needed it, but because it could be fun.

Once Rey figured out the trick to the popups that had been a thorn in her side for months, they were actually sort of fun? All the time she'd been worrying about the objects themselves was a waste of time when she should have been worrying about the space around the objects. That moved. That she could predict.

She'd started dreading running the course, but she was going at it pretty hard today. She wasn't doing anything to show off yet, but at this point not getting knocked on her ass felt like showing off.

Rey had been spared the Fandom weirdness for once, which was good for her because she thought that after months, she'd finally figured out how to deal with the popups on the obstacle course and it was easier to do that without hooves.

And she was trying to ignore the noise as she considered the course, because the woodchucks had not been spared the weirdness and they were fighting with their antlers like actual reindeer so that was gonna be a thing today.

Rey should have worn black. But no, she failed to look outside before leaving- a rookie mistake in December- and now she was going to have to spend a while in MCA's laundry room washing white clothes.

She was already irritated about that, but she was also spending training time trying to very carefully scrub the color off an unlucky woodchuck. "I'm going to need you to stop squirming if you want me to do this," she said. "Unless you want to run through the course while I turn on the rain controls."

You might think that in a large warehouse with a lot going on inside it, you might not hear the little horses on the roof. But you did. And it echoed.

Rey took the opportunity to get some meditation in, figuring that it was good practice in shutting out distractions. It was made harder by the woodchucks, who seemed to be driven crazy by the little clip clops. After a while of sitting in the air about a foot off the ground with her eyes closed, Rey did hear the door slam as they left, and now the distraction was wondering how they got over the quicksand.

Rey was determined. She was going to beat the pop-ups on the course today.

Or, more likely, she was going to get frustrated and accumulate a lot of bruises.

She was really throwing herself into it today, which might have been her way of dealing with leftover Feelings from the week. She'd been through the course several times, had fallen all of those times, dud something weird to her ankle once but not badly enough to stop... There had to be a way to do it. Without pushing that whole section into the lava, which was a very normal thought she'd had a couple times.

Rey wasn't trying to run the course today. She was still not getting the new additions to it, and she refused to spend all of next week explaining where she got that bruise or how she broke her own face or whatever.

Instead, she was sitting on the course near where the pop-ups started, meditating. Maybe she could figure out a pattern, but mostly she was focusing on how they moved, what it did to the space around them. Was this the right way to go about this? Maybe not. But she could also stand to chill out around these things a bit.

Rey hadn't been to the warehouse since she'd come back, so she was unaware of any changes that had been made in her absence.

So imagine her surprise when she'd gotten inside and up over the quicksand, just in time to see a woodchuck launched in the air from a certain part of the course.

For as alarmed as she was, the other woodchucks gathered around it where it landed, and when he stood up, it sounded like they all cheered?

Jaina had too much time on her hands here. She also continued enough in the way of supplies to this particular warehouse that she felt she had the right to make an edit to the course while Rey was away. Was it mean? Yes. Was it going to be helpful? Also yes. Also probably really annoying and possibly a little painful.

It also involved mechanics and while Jaina was more than capable of handling it, she also had a pretty handy grandfather on island who knew the course better than her, so she was about halfway done when she gave him a call and waited for him to arrive.

For as much as she loved last weekend, Rey still hadn't made a trip home in a bit, and since she wasn't going to be doing much in the way of training there, she was trying to get it out of her system today. It wasn't as challenging without a droid trailing her and she kind of missed that, but she was a lot less worried.

And when a woodchuck threw a single solitary 4x4 at her mid-course and she sliced it in half while barely breaking stride, she was pretty impressed with herself.

At least till he got to the lava, at which point he stopped, rolled up and back a little, and then screeched.

Rey stopped and turned around. "I warned you it was too far to get across."

He again, rolled up towards the edge of the course, swiveled his dome to look down, and rolled back again.

Rey sighed, holding out her hand to float him across to the other side as he beeped a thank you.

It was a very complicated week! There wasn't anything bad, but Rey's head was in a lot of different places, sometimes all at once. It was going to be that kind of day.

After spending most of her life having to handle everything so physically, Rey didn't use the Force for a lot of minor things. Sure, sometimes you didn't want to flip a light switch or whatever, and picking up on things like Force senses was more like something she had to switch off, but the only time she defaulted to using things like telepathy was when it was instinctive.

She'd given herself a little mission, and she was trying to use it for as much as possible for about a week. It wasn't about being lazy, but she figured there were ways to use it that she'd never thought of before. At worst it was an exercise in fine control.

So today she wasn't doing anything by hand that she didn't have to. Opening the door, setting up remotes, cleaning up the confetti that she was still finding in places from last week, she wasn't doing anything of that herself/i>. It was harder to remember to do it than to actually do any of it.

Rey had gone into one of the storage lockers to get the remotes, only to immediate have confetti explode all over. No woodchucks in sight, so she couldn't blame them. Must be a Fandom thing.

She took the remotes out, started to set them up, and one again shot out confetti from it. She didn't even know where it was coming from. There was no confetti compartment in these things.

Cool, she'd just put it back and do something else, only for more confetti to does out when she opened the locker again.

All right, just going to do nothing today. Nothing was safe.

The floor of the warehouse was covered in scattered patches of ping pong balls. A problem, yes. And because they moved so much, it was more annoying than it was when Rey had to sweep up sand or whatever, so she levitated them into a crate.

A moment later, even more were spilling across the floor.

That time, Rey tested a theory by levitating them into the lava. (It had its uses.)

The woodchucks had been quiet and normal lately (as much as warehouse-dwelling rodents could be), but when Rey got to the warehouse today, she found a few stacked on top of each other, trying to get into the snack locker.

They looked at Rey.

The top woodchuck quietly dropped down to the floor.

Rey was headed home for a few days after she left here, so she had her bag ready in her usual spot with the rest of her stuff, and this meant that she wasn't trying to do anything high impact today. She was considerate to any fellow travelers.

Rey had gotten back on Wednesday, hadn't come down to the warehouse yesterday, and today when she got there, everything was caked in a thick layer of dust. With the trip next week, Rey knew she probably wouldn't be able to get anything like her usual training in, so she was trying to go harder this week to make up for it. That wasn't how it worked, but it made her feel better.

One woodchuck was "helping out" with his usual wood chucking, but after the third time he completely whiffed while she was running the course, Rey stopped, turned off her lightsaber, and called, "Everything all right?"

And that was how she ended up jumping down and crouching by him for a good long time as he prattled something in woodchuck that she didn't understand, but occasionally she'd add in a "I get it" or "that's so unfair to you" and these seemed to be the right things to say.

There was a porg in the warehouse today. Which was fine, this place was halfway to a zoo by now anyway, except that it kept putting itself in the way as Rey was training so that she had to keep stopping so she wouldn't hurt it. She finally had to give a little Force suggestion to get it to back off... only for it to keep coming back.

Rey had been doing less training in the warehouse than working on the building itself. The heat was working, she'd found the draft, so it was a normal temperature finally, aside from the lava and the fact that it was a warehouse.

Even after all this time, Rey was not the best with winter. The fact that she hadn't exactly been able to localize the source of the draft in the warehouse didn't help.

Rey didn't love the cold, and the warehouse had a draft that she did not appreciate. She'd jumped up to the rafters and was checking on what used to be the hole in the roof. It had been amateur work fixing it, maybe it wasn't entirely sealed. It seemed fine, though, and she was going to have to hunt down other sources. Rey still had no idea what she was doing while everyone else was going on the trip next week. Staying in a mostly empty town was depressing and she usually went home, and she had no idea what to do or where to go. It had been easy when everyone was working out of one base, there was plenty to do, she was always being sent off on missions... And now everyone was scattered and this time she didn't really have leads on anything. For the first time she was trying to figure out how you made your own work- the galaxy was huge, did you just fly somewhere and ask if anybody needed a Jedi?

She'd spent a good chunk of time today on the comm trying to figure this out and see where people were, if they'd heard anything. It was starting to give her anxiety.

On one hand Rey hadn't had a crazy amount, on the other hand, she had no tolerance because for some reason she didn't like drinking, so there would be no running if a lava course today.
