Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

After last week's experience on the ridiculously difficult course, Rey hadn't been sure if things would be changed by today or not. She'd come prepared with bags full of water and first aid supplies that she'd picked up on the way, because she liked to be prepared, even if she had to float them in before making the leap over the door quicksand without whacking herself in the head or something.

Yep, it was still ridiculous in here and there was still lava. It was fine and this was all normal.

Anakin hopped over the quicksand as he came later. "Rey?" he called. "All of your limbs still intact?"

Anakin, what kind of obstacle course was this?

"Still good so far," she assured him from where she was sitting. "I figured if I was mid-course when you got here you'd worry."

"I would," Anakin admitted, smiling ruefully. "I haven't had a chance yet to modify this to a degree I'm comfortable with."

"What are you comfortable with?" she checked.

Anakin eyes darted around the warehouse, assessing. "Probably fewer things with so many points," he said. "Juliet uses this room, too, and she can't make that jump--" he pointed, "--for another few years, probably."

"Good point," she said. "Somewhere between her and me."

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded with a small smile. "I think Rory would be unhappy if Juliet needed a hand."

"I would too," Rey told him. "Does this also mean no lava?"

She'd told people about the lava, Anakin.

[sith_happened]

"No, she'll have to work with the lava," Anakin decided.

[thatwaslucky]

"Because you never know," Rey reasoned.

They'd dealt with a volcano!

"She's a Skywalker," Anakin said. "The chances of her finding lava in the rest of her life are higher than average."

[thatwaslucky]

"Luke and Leia never mentioned lava," she told him.

[sith_happened]

"Luke got swamp instead," Anakin said. "Lava's probably better."

[thatwaslucky]

"Hmm," Rey said, with a tilt of her head that said she did not agree.

[sith_happened]

"Swamp might less...full of fire," he said, "but it lingers in your clothing for weeks."

Just think of his hair, Rey! The hair!

"This is such a strange metric, it's fire," she told him.

[sith_happened]

"I used to live on a volcano planet," Anakin said.

Because he was the most extra.

[thatwaslucky]

"An actual lava planet?" she repeated.

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "Mustafar."

He didn't have issues, he had volumes.

Amazing how she was still learning that!

"Was that the same place as...?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded again. "I built a fortress there."

The rage and self-loathing he'd unleashed on that planet had fueled him for decades.

Rey blew out a breath. "This shouldn't surprise me."

[sith_happened]

"But it did," Anakin said with a tiny smile. "I enjoyed how no one would visit me."

[thatwaslucky]

"I do see the appeal of that," Rey said with a little smile in return.

[sith_happened]

"I wasn't really up for hosting dinner parties then anyway," Anakin added dryly.
