Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Even after all this time, Rey was not the best with winter. The fact that she hadn't exactly been able to localize the source of the draft in the warehouse didn't help.

It may not have been the most normal thing response, but she was doing the course today with the weather controls on and the heat on blast. It had actually been a long time since she'd had to do this in hot weather. In a way it was perfectly necessary.

"Rey?" Anakin called from the door, holding a holiday bag in one hand.

"Happy new year," she called from the top of the course. "I'll be right down."

Give her one more second where it was really warm.

[sith_happened]

"Take your time," Anakin said, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

She wasn't going to do that, but she was going to flip herself off the course to land near him.

"I probably shouldn't be using the course as a heater."

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "Probably not," he admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did you have a good holiday?" she asked, walking over to grab her water. Because she was a psycho working out in heat on purpose.

[sith_happened]

"I did," Anakin said, "Connecticut was cold."

[thatwaslucky]

"That's not surprising," she said. "As long as there were people and pie."

She'd never met them but she strongly associated Rory's family with pie now.

"There were too many of both," Anakin said, smiling. "I sat through a four hour town meeting deciding if they could drop something in Stars Hollow and make it as interesting as New York City. Fortunately my mother-in-law brought snacks."

"How would that take four hours?" Rey said with a frown.

[sith_happened]

"Everyone had to have an opinion," Anakin said, sounding tired.

[thatwaslucky]

"No one has time for that."

They did.

[sith_happened]

"Oh, but they do," Anakin said. "And they have a meeting every week."

[thatwaslucky]

"About what?"

Don't go down this rabbit hole, Rey.

[sith_happened]

"I honestly tune out when Lorelei tells me," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did they even drop anything g?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"No," Anakin said, "though by hour three, there were suggestions to drop the mayor."

[thatwaslucky]

"Then I'm very glad they didn't stop anything," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Sometimes Taylor may deserve it," Anakin said.

Your Ethics teacher, gang.

"Just what you want to hear from the person teaching me how to be a Jedi," she said lightly.

[sith_happened]

"As long as you don't cause the punishment or smirk too openly, it's fine."

"I'll keep it in mind," she said wryly, and nodded towards the bag. "What's that?"

[sith_happened]

"Gift for you," Anakin said. "Juliet picked it out."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, neither of you had to do that," she told him. Appreciated! But they didn't have to!

"It's the holidays," Anakin said. "Giving presents is part of her culture."
