Underneath and Then All Around Fandom, Tuesday
Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 02:53 pmTamsin | "So," Tamsin said flatly, staring at the geeky-ass control room spread out under the island, "You nerds sent my island into space." She had said this at least once before, but it was worth mentioning again. "How do we get it out of space?" |
Bo | "And officially transferred to your ownership so you have to pay the property taxes?" Bo asked. "Or should we just concentrate on the space part for now?" |
Zoe | "In our defense, the island sent itself into the air. We just... increased the elevation, for the greater good," Zoe said, trying not to smirk. "I'm sure the controls to send it back to sea level are here somewhere." |
( Suuuuuuuuuure they are. )
Meanwhile, up above...
The island jerked away from its orbit around Earth, pausing comically in the middle of space for several long, uninterrupted seconds. Then there was a flash. A big flash. It zapped right out of its old space, and reappeared somewhere else - in the center of an entirely different kind of grand expanse. It was a lake, sort of, but it barely resembled its usual anchoring point.
In fact, the substance itself couldn't even be called water: it was chocolate. A large expanse of chocolate, which washed up against the dome surrounding the island every now and again, splattering little brown flecks all over it. The top of the dome opened up, letting the fresh oxygen in, but the walls stayed up just far enough to stop the chocolate from running into the waters of the beach and docks.
The Causeway dropped down onto a cobblestone path. ... No, wait. Not cobblestone. Lemon drops. It was made of lemon drops. The surrounding green wasn't actually grass, either: it was apple-flavored marshmallow. The path led into a small village not far away. Large lollipops lined the entrance, while the skyline appeared to be comprised of a combination of chocolate bars, gummy bears and hard candy. A small brook made entirely of caramel flowed gently from the edge of town over into the licorice hills further away.
