After getting back from Sweden, Tyler had slept until just before Fight Club. The results had him feeling a bit like a vampire who never saw daylight. But a very well-rested vampire.

"Welcome back," he said, pacing as usual. "It's been a while, but we haven't forgotten you and I hope you haven't forgotten us. If you need a refresher, rules are on the gym door."

"And if you need a refresher after one week, you are most likely still hungover, and have no place on the mats," Ghanima replied. "Which is why we'll hit you anyway, so that you learn."

"Now then. You and you. Young lady, you're with her. And Azula, with me, please."

"Ghanima, I'm picking on your brother again," Tyler said. "Leto, with her. Steve, with him. And those two. Go hit each other."

"I can't say I disapprove," Ghanima laughed. "I think it's a sister's duty to help torment her brother."

"Now, everyone go hit the mats. Get out your dismay that classes are back again tomorrow, and yes, we expect you to be there. We don't care that it's Homecoming week."

"People," Tyler said, looking around the gym. A slight sniffle roughened his voice. "Lots of people. You all came back."

"Which is good, since if they didn't come back, we wouldn't have anyone to boss around," Ghanima pointed out. "Or hit."

"You guys can hit," Tyler said wistfully. "I'm pretty sure I'd give my cold to anybody if I did. I'm just observing today, since apparently I'm the kind of" -- holy word you don't want to use in front of students there, Tyler! -- "person who worries about germs now."

"Next thing we know, you'll be telling people to get off your lawn and futzing about the 'good old days,'" Ghani replied dryly. "Okay. You and you. You. With her. Smile, you with the tiger, you're fighting him."

"Tyler?"

"I am not old," he said sulkily, and folded his arms to survey the crowd. "Oh, him and her, her and him, him and him."

"Go to it."

"Welcome back," Ghanima began, looking over the assorted company. "I'm pleased to see we didn't scare too many of you off by forcing introductions."

"Luckily for you, there aren't any enforced group bonding activities today. Only sparring."

"Sparring," Tyler concurred. "No talking. And, since we're huge now, more matches. You and you, you and you, you in the back and you trying to look too cool for this. Ghanima, pick the last six."

"You can talk to other people, of course, but only if you want to. And you should introduce yourself to your partner," she commented dryly. "Let's see. You, sir, with her. And you and you. Leto, with her."

"Everyone else, grab someone, grab some mat, and start punching."

"We're here if you need us," Tyler added, retreating back to observe.

"Ladies! Gentlemen. Boys. Girls. Other sentient life forms." Someone had given Tyler sugar. "Welcome to Fight Club. I'm Tyler Durden, this is Ghanima Atreides. We're in charge."

"Which is the nice way of saying 'welcome to Fandom,'" Ghanima injected dryly. "You're here because you saw a poster, or heard through a friend, and you want to hit things. We support violence therapy."

"Most weeks," Tyler said, "we do assigned matches. This week is different. This week is introductions -- because you haven't said your names enough yet this week -- and some level testing. Introductions don't have to be fancy. Fight Club is not about your life story. Tell us what you like to be called and how long you've been at this and we'll call it good."

"After which, those of you that are new or trying to move from beginner to advanced can show us your moves, while the rest of you grab a friend to beat up," Ghanima continued cheerfully. "Once we've seen you in action, then our new friends can also hit the mats, and proceed to learn how we make friends and influence people here at Fight Club. I'll give you a hint; it usually involves bruises."

"But first, you all have to listen to the rules."

Tyler pulled out a sheet of paper and read them off. "Hopefully those are all clear, if you do not understand ask somebody. If you still do not understand, consider the possible tragedy of head damage and don't fight."

He glanced to Ghanima. "Anything else?"

"These rules are posted on the door for every Fight Club meeting," she said pleasantly. "Anyone who willfully ignores these rules gets bounced out that door. We are here to fight, not babysit you."

"Now, smile, and introduce yourselves, and let's see what you can do."

After a week spent exploring the cities near the island, Seregil was back and opening the Book Haven as usual. He settled in behind the counter and worked on a letter to Nysander, describing his adventures.

And how, really, that one incident with the constabulary wasn't his fault at all.

The Book Haven was open.
[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com
Seregil opened the shop and settled down behind the counter with a mug of hot chocolate and a travel book about warm destinations. He may still be focused on the cold when they had lost power last week. Cold like that was just wrong.

[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com
Seregil unlocked the door of the Book Haven and set up things before settling down with parchment and quill and a bottle of ink to write a letter to Nysander. Sure, he could've used the more convenient versions that existed on the island, but sometimes one just wanted to go with what one was most familiar with.

Seregil opened up the shop and settled down behind the counter with a tome of Shakespeare. Watching the play that weekend had renewed his interest in reading the man's work.

Seregil had found a whole pile of small presents just inside the door when he opened the Book Haven. He got everything set up and then sat down behind the counter and opened the gifts.

Nothing big, but it was certainly a pleasant way of passing the time.

Setting up snacks at the shop was very easy today considering the proliferation of cookies. Seregil settled in behind the counter with a plate of same and nibbled on them as he read a book he'd randomly picked off the shelf.
[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com
Setting up the drinks on offer for the customers today was far easier than any other day. He had set out a pitcher of cocoa which he got just by using the tap.

Getting a mug of cocoa himself, Seregil settled down behind the counter with his sketchpad.

As the sun went down, the twinkling fairy-lights that had been strung around the park took its place as a light source. Not nearly as big, but it was enough to see the food and the dance area by, with the help of some strategically placed torches in the shape of old-fashioned gaslamps. Nor nearly as warm, but there were carefully-controlled braziers here and there to take the nip out of the evening air.

Around the dance area and along the buffet tables there was a proliferation of orange, brown and rust-coloured harvest flowers that might have bordered on excessive, as if someone got rather excited about being offered a job this important, but it was still within the bounds of good taste.

[OCD is now up. Have fun!]

It was still a beautiful day and there was still plenty of wonderful food in the Park, welcoming visitors to Fandom Island.

Seregil opened the Book Haven and settled in with parchment and pen, to work on a letter back to Nysander. The upcoming weekend being called Homecoming had reminded him just how long it had been since he'd had a homecoming of his own and he was left feeling more than a little homesick.

[identity profile] suit-of-sables.livejournal.com
He hadn't had much of a weekend, other than his usual slinking around his theatre, working on ideas for the production. A part of him was wanting to dress it up since they had some funds to spare, but another part of him loved the bare-bones production style regardless of how much money they had. It made the actors work harder and as far as he was concerned, that work was worth a lot more than quality sets and costumes. That said, no one had ever really hurt for having a little help and this wasn't anything particularly deep. It was as deep as a comedy could go, really, especially an amateur production, but...

He sighed and opened the door.

He'd have to talk to Tony about it.

[ocd coming up!]
[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com
Seregil opened up the shop and settled down with his sketch pad to pass the time. If pictures of young dark haired men in leather pants were predominant in his drawings, well, there were a lot worse things he could be drawing.

Jolee was grouchy tonight. Not that this was a big change from normal, but it might be noticeable. Somebody else had taken up residence in the woods that had been basically empty aside from him and the animals. The Onsen he could deal with. An abandoned mansion? Not a problem. Other people? That caused minor annoyance. And when Jolee had nothing better to do, he let minor annoyance inspire him into greater curmudgeonly behavior.

And that was what he did for fun, so, really, he probably liked having someone else out there. Not that he'd admit it.

[OOC: Can I call The Gig "The 1000 K?" Ahem. I'm around.]
[identity profile] therhimineecat.livejournal.com
Seregil had pretty much gone to ground this past weekend. The whole running into old enemies thing that seemed to be happening had made him worry that if he had put himself out and about he might've ran into Illar and that was just... No.

Better to hide spend time in his room, discussing the finer points of romance novels with Bob than risk that.

But now it was Monday, the current bout of weirdness was over and Seregil had ventured out to go to work. So here he was, behind the counter, sorting through some new books to possibly take home to Bob.

Geoffrey had woken up early today.

Today... was the start of a new play. Today he'd get to deal with a new set of actors, a new text, a new production. Today, a fresh new brew of insanity was due to begin percolating.

It was like crack.

For today, they'd be doing a read through and so he set up the chairs in a circle before taking his own seat.

[OCD up!]

When Seregil got everything set up in the shop this morning, he went through the shelves and pulled out a few tomes by this Shakespeare fellow. If he was going to audition tomorrow, it only seemed right to try and learn as much as possible first.

As soon as Zoe heard Hades' announcement, she headed to Town Hall.

Actually, the first thing she did was let out a string of profanity that would have made Mal blush, and if Grace picked any of it up later, she would only have herself to blame. Then she took Grace, promising John they'd be safe, and headed to Town Hall. She handwavily contacted the others in charge on the way, and started working on a plan for how to take care of Hades. At the moment, the plan involved a lot of violence on her part.

Seregil had never actually been to the shop before impulsively volunteering to help Tinkerbell out in class last week, so the first thing he did when he opened this shop this morning was to explore it curiously.

There were several racks of formal dresses (with a sign up saying they were for prom), an array of formal wear for men -- tuxedos, he believed the correct name was -- and also a selection of footwear.

Seregil spent as much time browsing through the dresses as the men's clothing, and idly concocting various identities he may assume where such outifts would be needed.

Seregil was in a good mood when he came into the book shop today. The speed dating thing on Saturday had gone better than he had anticipated and had left him with several peple he wanted to get to know better as friends, and one or two possibly even as more than friends.

After the whole Three Minute Date thingie, Robin figured people would need their booze. Badly.

So she was still behind the bar, though she'd enlisted Tino to help her.

[I might be kinda slow, so mod Tino for speedier service kthnx. This is for AFTER all the crazy 3MD action, whooo!]
[identity profile] canadianpopstar.livejournal.com
Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

Three Minute Dates @ Caritas
Hosted by Robin Scherbatsky
Presented by loneliness and desperation*
* beer goggles recommended/necessary in some cases

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

[OOC: Three minutes equals ten comments for our purposes. That's five comments per person. Try your very best to get it wrapped up in that time. You do NOT have to do these in chronological order. Do them as people are available. Just try not to Joss yourself.

Remember, if you're violent, you'll be teleported out of the club and will have to make your way back. If you can't get through all of your dates today, you can sp, don't worry!
