"Ladies! Gentlemen. Boys. Girls. Other sentient life forms." Someone had given Tyler sugar. "Welcome to Fight Club. I'm Tyler Durden, this is Ghanima Atreides. We're in charge."

"Which is the nice way of saying 'welcome to Fandom,'" Ghanima injected dryly. "You're here because you saw a poster, or heard through a friend, and you want to hit things. We support violence therapy."

"Most weeks," Tyler said, "we do assigned matches. This week is different. This week is introductions -- because you haven't said your names enough yet this week -- and some level testing. Introductions don't have to be fancy. Fight Club is not about your life story. Tell us what you like to be called and how long you've been at this and we'll call it good."

"After which, those of you that are new or trying to move from beginner to advanced can show us your moves, while the rest of you grab a friend to beat up," Ghanima continued cheerfully. "Once we've seen you in action, then our new friends can also hit the mats, and proceed to learn how we make friends and influence people here at Fight Club. I'll give you a hint; it usually involves bruises."

"But first, you all have to listen to the rules."

Tyler pulled out a sheet of paper and read them off. "Hopefully those are all clear, if you do not understand ask somebody. If you still do not understand, consider the possible tragedy of head damage and don't fight."

He glanced to Ghanima. "Anything else?"

"These rules are posted on the door for every Fight Club meeting," she said pleasantly. "Anyone who willfully ignores these rules gets bounced out that door. We are here to fight, not babysit you."

"Now, smile, and introduce yourselves, and let's see what you can do."

Rose had missed Fight Club the past two weeks so she was so incredibly ready for this one. Plus she kinda wanted to see if Dimitri would end up fighting at all because she so wouldn't mind watching him in action not dirty dammit.

She arrived as early as she possibly could without being a total dork and stretched on the mats while waiting for things to get started.

Rose had mentioned Fight Club to Jak, and he'd been eager to take a look since last weekend. He arrived with a grin on his face and curiosity in his eyes, peering around.

After the weekend he'd had, Arthur wasn't... eager wasn't the word for it, although what had transpired on Friday might have made him a little more anxious for violence. He was there, however, and looking entirely available for a fight even as he put in effort to look like he didn't particularly care.

He was, however, scoping out the newbies. Secretly.

Cable was there, lingering by the kiddie section of the area as he usually did. He'd brought some of Jan's new toys (procurred during her party, and thoroughly examined to make sure nothing was going to, say, get eaten and kill her) to keep her occupied, which freed his eyes to make a careful judgement of who had joined them fresh.

From her perspective it was as if she'd missed Fight Club for months, not just one week, so Firekeeper- with Blind Seer, of course, whose coat was looking a lot fuller than it had a few days ago- was here and not stretching.

Illyria wasn't doing anything resembling stretches - the muscles in this body only half worked like human ones anyway. She simply stood with her arms folded, assessing both the words of the leaders and the apparent strengths and weaknesses of those who had come here to fight.

Kyle had stopped by to check this club out once before and he liked what he saw. He figured it would help keep him in shape for his eventual return to the Jedi.

Plus, maybe he'd get to beat up Darth kriffing Vader somewhere down the line.

Really, there was no downside.

His time back in Rhiminee this summer when he hadn't been putting on a front as a good noble, had reminded Seregil that it never hurt to keep those fighting skills in practice. He had figured Fight Club might be a good way to do so.

Seregil looked around at the setup and the others with open curiosity.

Deadpool joined the mass of people who weren't talking to each other at this point. It was all KINDS of awkward.

Rose so wasn't sure if everyone was supposed to introduce themselves or just the new kids, but when it came around to her, she went ahead with it. "I'm Rose Hathaway. I'm a senior, and I've been training since I was a little kid."

That pretty much fulfilled the brief, right?

Hey, he could do this! Kind of. Jak wasn't a particularly trained fighting - most of his ability came from sheer talent and enthusiasm, and while his kicks and punches looked vaguely impressive, he didn't measure up in any way to the heavy hitters in the group.
