Today is most assuredly a happy day in the life of Apu. Yesterday marked the end of working with "a very very bad man" and today Jamie Madrox called in sick.

So Apu is happily dancing through the aisles as he restocks and takes inventory at the same time.

When Annette got to work, she sat in a chair behind the counter after she set out the bell with a note that read:

I'm right here. There is no sense in ringing the bell. Unless you just want to ring the bell. Then ring it only once omigod.

What? 

So there she was, sitting, and writing... more like doodling in a notebook, but she was there to help anyone if they needed helping.

Probably.

George Michael was a little disgruntled when he came into work. He had been kicked back to his own room at the hotel. Of course Mary had strep throat so he understood, really. Just... it changed his whole schedule of doing things. Plus, he really hated sleeping alone now that he's gotten used to it.

He wasn't feeling that great either. Kind of on the tired side. No, he didn't think he was getting sick. Just tired.

Eddie knew well enough to leave him alone after the stupid seagull tried pecking his head. George Michael grabbed the can of Lysol and went to town. Eddie would probably be gone taking a two day bath in the ocean which suited George Michael just fine. Bird could use a little disinfectant.

Pixie Dust, Monday [4/21]

It was the Monday before prom, and so Romeo was prepared for a busy day as he opened the shop. He quickly decorated with streamers, a few balloons around the mirrors, and glitter on the floor, then surveyed the options. There were several racks of prom dresses, an array of tuxedos, and of course shoes.

Today's music: The soundtracks to Yet Another Film About Teenagers and Lovely in Lavender.

As if Gunther wasn't busy enough, now he had to work the front desk because that stupid girl was sick. After sending the sous chef upstairs with a tray for Mary (because Gunther wasn't going near her if she was contagious), he took a seat at the desk and started working on a new menu.

Today's shift settled after the end of one exam, but Chad still had two left. Since the cooking class wasn't much of a concern for him, this meant that Chad would spend the majority of his evening flipping through his phrasebook and talking to the kittens in French. Muttering, really, and it wasn't like they were paying attention since they had a CD to play with, so he was mostly just muttering to himself.

Which wasn't that uncommon.

Alex had talked with Justin over the weekend and had actually learned some new spells. They were pretty cool and she was excited to use them whenever she could.

Maybe she'd start later. She didn't think it was appropriate to do so in the store. Hey, her dad would be proud if he knew she'd thought that through, oh yeah.

Charlotte York had finally decided that she had lost another battle. Over ten batches of unsuccessful cookies later, she decided that her stove was evil, it probably had something to do with the island, and she was just going to give it up, pick up some cookies from that lovely pastry shop, and call that good. The disastrous attempts of this morning's attempt, though, had driven her successfully out of her apartment for the moment, into the coffee shop, where she could maybe relax a little in the ambiance and enjoy a nice skinny latte and attempt to read book to distract her from worry over whether or not the cookie bait-and-switch would be notice.

Although she was most likely to just blurt out a confession anyway.

Seregil put out the cookies and some iced tea out for any hungry customers. Then he settled in with his notes from Spycraft class and a variety of extra hard locks to pick.

He was determined to be ready for his first final tomorrow.

Tom was dancing around the store and singing today. He had no reason to, really... he totally wasn't happy and relieved that nothing weird had happened at Fandom over the weekend. He also wasn't TOTALLY happy that Lynette had been in a very good mood and... well.
