Toasty was loose.

John didn't know how it had happened but he wasn't doing that much to hunt down his errant toaster either. Nope, Toasty could wreck havoc for all he cared. So, there was a small toaster sitting on a bench in the park.

It was quiet, for now, somehow watching those who passed by. If someone paid attention to him, then maybe he'd regale said person with an amazing fit of poetry.

But, you wouldn't know until you tried, would you?

[Open! For those that don't know, Toasty is Crichton's toaster that Bridge Carson enhanced so it could talk. Toasty is not politically correct and will most likely make fun of you in rhyme. Please don't smash Toasty.]

You know how there were gremlins wandering around and biting people into thinking they were zombies? You know what you didn't want getting bitten. Actual damn zombies. Kitty, Tino and the flamingo (don't ask) had managed to get the zombies offstage and safely locked up for the day, so at least anyone coming in didn't have to worry about getting bitten by more than gremlins.

And anyone who'd been bitten by gremlins and now thought they were a zombie. Look, Kitty couldn't protect you from everything, though at least there was a sanctuary spell here.

YOU SPENT A GOOD PART OF YOUR YOUTH HERE!
COME DRINK AGAIN!

Aeryn hadn't meant to be here again today. But she'd been cornered by a horde of shambling gremlins, and after realizing she had an opportunity to shoot things, she'd taken care of them and seen them go back to normal.

So she got a coffee and took a seat outside, shooting at anything coming her way that might try to bite her. You know, casually.

And this was why Aeryn loved Fandom.

Originally, this was going to be a much smaller event, but then Fandom had to be Fandom and Portalocity had to be Portalocity, and now Zoe was wondering if there would be enough food for everyone or if she'd have to get things from the local restaurants.

For the moment though, everything was set up nicely. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and gold tablecloths, each covered with glitter from years of use. There were balloons, streamers, and other slightly tasteful decorations, also covered in glitter from years of being stored with things that were also covered in glitter. Don't worry, no one had died from a glitter overdose yet.

Once the food was set out and the (non-tainted) punch was ready, it seemed like things were as good to go as they'd ever be. If things got too crowded, hopefully a fire marshal wasn't among the folks who had come back to town.

Like so many weekends before it, the calm of a September Saturday morning was interrupted by the unscheduled opening of a portal in the park. This one sprang to life in a blaze of blue and gold and a burst of glitter before settling into something more stable.

The first to flood out were a score of squirrels, followed by some alots, a few teal deer, and some gremlins who had left Fandom to seek their fortune through biting. Then humans, humanoids, and those we never asked about too closely came through the portal.

Welcome back to Fandom, alums! Even if you hadn't planned on being here this weekend!

[OOC: Feel free to establish your folks coming through if they aren't taking alternative methods to arrive! HAPPY TENTH ANNIVERSARY, FANDOM! Come hang out in the IM chatroom gogremlins if you have time to kill and want to catch up/squee/find out what people have done IRL over ten years...]

It was a new day and there was no better way to start a new day than with the continuation of the carnival. There was still snow coating the ground but the atmosphere was as lively as ever. With cream-colored decorations and twinkling lights, the Student Council had aimed for a winter wonderland kind of theme, and the snow simply added to the effect. Thankfully, the day was turning out to be warmer, so those who were going to be outside all day wouldn't freeze. Once the finishing touches were done, the carnival was open for business.

Much of the glitter had fallen to the floor and the snowmen were starting to look a bit dingey but the music was still playing, the punch was still flowing and the greatest hits of Fandom past and presents weren't about to be stopped.

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

[OOC:  Chaperones and Security please ping in as soon as possible.  The second post will be going up in about five hours (or when browsers start to break) but this post is very SP friendly.  PLEASE wait for the OCD is UP and POST IS OPEN]

No matter what the weather was on the mainland, the weather over the Fandom had warmed up to a beautiful spring evening, just perfect for a night of dancing.

A large tent had been set up in the park and it glowed with the soft light of what seemed like a million small white lights. The path leading up to the tent crossed a small bridge and then split, one walkway leading up to the tent, the other leading to the pond where a small dock had been set up. Two gondolas were waiting to take anyone who wished to go on a ride around the pond.

Inside the tent, numerous colorful backdrops made it seem like the students had been transported to Saint Mark's Square. The only thing missing were the pigeons.

Off to one side stood a table with a box for the final votes for the Prom Court.

It was time for Prom 2007.

[OOC: Up early for Slow-play. Please wait for the extensive OCD. Have at it!]

Sitting around outside in the dark alone probably was not the most sensible idea, but Angela was not the most sensible girl.

It was spring, and the warmish air felt like a blessing. Angela closed her eyes, listening to the breeze ruffling the water in the pond and not-so-idly trying to adjust to the idea that her last full month of high school was about to begin.

Piper was very grateful when Weevil opened Caritas extra early so she could decorate and set up for Veronica's surprise party.

She was also relieved when Tino informed her that Veronica would be late. Not that she was going to have to work anyway. It's her birthday party after all.

After yesterday, Luke realized that he needed reinforcements. He still hadn't exactly told Lorelai the truth about where all the small children had come from because he didn't need her totally freaking out over Rory and all the kids he had seen yesterday seemed perfectly fine.

But with it being his turn to host the Sunday Brunch, he wasn't taking any chances on dealing with all those small people alone, so Lorelai was with him, setting up an arts & crafts center in one corner of the diner.

The Menu Board

Omelet Station (with all the *handwavy* fixings)
Pancakes - regular, blueberry & chocolate chip
Belgian Waffles
Scrambled Eggs

An assortment of muffins, donuts, and bagels

The music is playing, the City Hall is still aglow, and some of the streamers are still up. The DVD players are still projecting 3D images of the cities. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere, including the students.

[ooc: Post is currently closed. open. Wait for the music though. We are good to go! Move at your own pace through the two posts and have fun!]

City Hall is aglow with the light from the torches. Streamers in blue and yellow line the way for students towards the ballroom. Inside, hangings and other decorations represent the Lost Cities. A working volcano stands in Krakatoa's corner. Seven DVD players are projecting 3D images of the cities as well. And streamers, glitter, candles, balloons, and lights are everywhere.

Prom has begun.

[ooc: Wait for the OCD threads or suffer my wrath. Done! But please wait for the music threads to go up before dancing. Prom II will be going up in about two hours. Later.]

On her first day of work, Angela heads to Championship Vinyl to find the door locked and an envelope with her name on it taped to it.

Inside the envelope, she finds two keys and a note that reads,

Angela -- Sorry if I'm not here for the start of your shift. I'm working an estate sale. The guy had the kind of rare country and blues I couldn't resist. Put on some music you like and explore the store; the register's pretty easy to use. I should be in later. -- Rob

Letting herself into the store, Angela sticks the Natural Born Killers soundtrack in the player and idly flips through the pop and R&B racks, waiting for any business.

Luke's opened early this morning, already not in a good mood. If they stayed this under-staffed, Luke was beginning to worry that he might actually have to be here more than just dropping in once or twice a week, which would be a big hassle. As the regular breakfast crowd becan to filter in, he placed an even larger sign in the window.
