Dwight was up as usual bright an early. The shop was clean and organized and all current projects had been completed a while ago. The creative muse was playing hide and seek is seemed, which meant an unusually slow day for once. So, with a second... or was it third... cup of coffee in hand, Dwight settled down behind the desk and pulled out his phone and started scrolling through things, trying to find something that struck his interest... at least until the creative muse clicked back in and he could work on something again. In the meantime, the shop was open, if a bit quiet.

The order Dwight had been waiting for, somewhat impatiently by this point honestly, had finally arrived. So the afternoon was being spent unpacking boxes, organizing inventory, updating paperwork, and getting the shop in order. If anyone needed him Dwight was likely buried among the boxes and inventory items but he was totally available if anyone happened to come by and need anything.

This time of year was always a bit odd for Dwight. The week between Christmas and New Year was always a bit 'soupy' to borrow from the popular saying. But even now almost a week into the new year, things still hadn't quite settled into a regular routine for him.

So, while Snoopy lay in his dog bed thoroughly enjoying the chew toy he had gotten for Christmas, that he seemed to be systematically trying to destroy in the process, Dwight sat at the work table and tried to work on inventory.

Dwight had survived the holiday rush mostly intact. There had been a close call with the sander but his finger would heal easily enough, wasn't the first time it had happened. He was just glad the pushy customers wanting personalized and customized orders done in record-breaking time seemed to have calmed down some. So, that morning found him taking inventory and making a list of everything he needed to replace after the mad rush that was the Christmas gift-giving season.

Another week had gone by and that meant another week closer to the major holidays coming up. While he wasn't expecting a huge rush for Thanksgiving he was bracing for a rush of orders before Christmas. There was a small Black Friday sale posted up on his online shop because evidently, that was a thing these days? He really didn't have a clue to be honest.

But the lul before the storm was fine as he had plenty to keep busy working on with all of the shelves and stands and displays. So with the door open, the coffee pot full, and projects laid out on the work tables, Dwight settled down to start the day's work.

The shop was open!

It had been a fairly uneventful week. Inventory had come in and Dwight had spent most of the time working on organizing everything that had been delivered and getting the shop displays in order. There were a few projects on the work tables that he was finishing up but not a lot lined up for afterwards just yet, so there was definitely room for some special orders or projects if anyone was needing anything. But for now Dwight was keeping himself busy with the menial office tasks and once they were done he might get back to finishing up the projects. Would depend on how the day went.

Ok so there had been a lot going on, including some things that had called him off the island for a while. But Dwight was back and trying to get focused back on work. The holidays were always a bit of a rough time for him, but he had always managed and he would do the same this year.

So with Snopy happily running around re-exploring the shop like it had been a year, rather than the month or so, since he had last been there, Dwight began working on taking inventory. Not before he topped off his cup of coffee of course- because there were priorities to be had now that he was back.

The ballroom was once again set up for guests at Stark Industries, this time with a decidedly colorful theme for it. Where the color white could reasonably be avoided it was avoided: from the decorations to the lighting, to the food and drinks provided for the guests.

Because no one enjoyed a nice theme more than Tony Stark.

Steve strode across the ballroom and stared up at the new Chihuly chandelier installed over the dance floor. "When I suggested we switch out the art, I meant the kids' paintings," he said, pointing to the new, very colorful, pictures that had been blown up from construction paper size to 5 foot tall show-stoppers. "I still think the pictures of Princess Thor riding on the unicorn wins, though."

Rosh Hashanah wasn't until sundown Friday but of course Steven wouldn't be Steven if he didn't panic and try getting stuff done in advance. So if any of the residents of the Boarding House swung by the dining room Tuesday morning they would find a display of apples, small jars of honey, and round loaves of challah. It was absolutely more than three people could consume in one sitting. Because Steven.

There was also a note which read In honor of the upcoming holiday. Free for anyone who'd like it. No obligations or those other things to worry about. Also Llew Detective Watts did the baking!

(Yes, complete with crossed out part. Again because Steven.)

Marc was not thinking about the time of year. He helped himself to an apple because why not? But otherwise he was focusing more on making sure things were going okay with all the things that were now his responsibility. His office turned out to be a good place for that. Nobody bugging them at home and located where he could see if there was anything that needed his attention either from the people who lived there or from anybody who came in from outside.

To that end there was a sign on the front door which read: Potential residents and visitors welcome! in one set of handwriting and then, underneath, Provided you're not an asshole trying to cause trouble in another.

No prize for guessing which sentence had handwriting which matched the note on the dining room table with the food and which one might match Marc's handwriting.

That taken care of Marc sat in his office, ate his apple, and tried to make heads or tails of the list of furniture the place still needed.

There had been a lot on Dwight's mind. More than usual, which was probably to be expected given everything that had happened over the few weeks. He had tried for the last few days to get back into a routine of sorts, but it was proving a bit of a challenge.

As proof to that fact, Dwight was down in the shop, not working on any new project but rather sitting at the counter. Several books were spread out in front of him. Photo albums to be exact. And it was at a slow and methodical pace that he slowly turned the pages looking at the photos and the memories on each page.

It was likely going to be another unproductive day, but if anyone needed him, he was there and the door to the shop was open.

Miguel was making coffee and trying to ignore the discussion going on behind him.

"Look, see? It's national oyster day!" the dishwasher insisted.

The cook sighed. "I don't care. It's also national mustard day, and it's a lot easier to get mustard than fresh oysters at the last minute."

"But we probably have some frozen. What if we -"

"We are not putting mustard on oysters!"

"Actually," Miguel cut in, unable to resist, "I know a recipe."

Stark was a little restless today. Tonight. He knew what was coming, who was coming, even if part of him was still somewhat in denial about all of it.

He'd wandered through the park for a while, watching the ducks in the slowly fading light, before heading to the ice cream shop. Something sugary would probably help. If nothing else it would distract him for a while.

He ordered a large sundae, extra whipped cream, and sat down at a table to eat and maybe to wait.

Dwight had been feeling a little off for the last few days. And he had a feeling he knew why. This wasn't his first time going through this. And though he knew that there was no guarantee who, if anyone, would be paying him a visit over the weekend, he was still optimistically hopeful. So he had spent most of the day straightening up and trying to get the shop and the apartment upstairs in better shape- just in case. And once that was done, and he had run out of busy work, Dwight set himself up at the work table to work on something to keep himself busy.

Dwight is in, if maybe a little restless and post is open for early convos before his guest arrives.

It had been a restless night for Dwight. Not that nightmares and insomnia were anything new to him. And even dreams about Lizzie were not all that uncommon for him either. But these had felt different somehow. These dreams felt real. Real enough that Dwight had to convince himself that they were just dreams. There was an energy in the air, a restlessness that seeped into him. And it felt oddly familiar.

Once Dwight realized what it meant, what was happening again, he felt conflicted. On one hand, he welcomed the chance to possibly see Lizzie again. On the other hand, he didn't want to have to say goodbye to her all over again. So that afternoon, when he opened up the shop for the day, Dwight was trying to figure out what he was going to do for the weekend if his hunch about what was happening turned out to be true.

Had it rained overnight, even just for a moment? That might be a mystery forever, but this was Fandom, so maybe that didn't matter one damn bit because the important thing here was that a huge, brilliant rainbow arced through the sky over the island right on schedule, the way it did every year for Pride.

The park itself was also a wild array of rainbow colors: strings of pennants in the various flag color combinations criss-crossing over the picnic table area, a giant multicolored balloon arch over the stage, and the same rainbow bounce house and inflatable slide from last year, still forming the centerpiece of the carnival section and spilling out into a ballpit. The other carnival rides and games were arranged around the slide, with the tables and booths just beyond that.

Up on stage, a small rotation of NPC bands -- including a bunch of the weekly Blood Bowl players from the Magpie Emporium, whose volunteering had been a delightful surprise -- took turns playing short sets, mixed in with blocks of carefully curated tunes spun by Steph herself at the DJ setup off to one side... and time for karaoke or open mic performances from anyone intrepid enough to get up there. Half the time, Steph was sitting in on drums with the bands.

Happy Pride, Fandom!

Steve had let Tony do the decorating for the party tonight, so there was no chance at all that anyone walking through town wouldn't see that there was a party at the renovated Stark…Mini Tower? Tallish Building?

There was a red carpet (because that's what all of the galas Tony and Steve were invited to had) on the sidewalk outside that led to the open glass doors, through the renovated shop area (with a sign pointing out that the new second floor maker space would be available to anyone in the mood to invent whose name wasn't Beaker), and to the elevator that would take them to the third floor ballroom.

Because, much to Steve's chagrin, they had a ballroom that took up almost an entire floor. Enormous windows filled the room with light from outside and offered a pretty view of the castle. The walls were decorated with enlarged, professionally matted and framed drawings of the Avengers that kids had sent to them over the years (and a Jackson Pollock Tony was trying to pass off as a picture of Wanda and Scott made by a small child. Steve was letting him get away with it).

There was a stage across from the windows with space for Steph's DJ equipment (and also room for the small-ish non-zombie orchestra for when Steph took breaks. The stage had looked much smaller on the blueprints when Steve had approved them.) and the dance floor was spread out before it. A Chihuly glass sculpture hung over it in Iron Man colors of gold and red. (Tony was Tony.)

Silent waitstaff were passing moddable high-end appetizers, but because Steve could spend his entire night eating passed appetizers and still be hungry, there was more substantial food just off to the side of the dance floor.

The room--and the couple welcoming you--was a mixture of the practical, the beautiful, and the casual misunderstanding of just what things cost. Welcome to the new Stark…Towerlet? Was that a thing? Steve and Tony were so glad you came.

Dwight was a little late coming down from the apartment upstairs that morning. But he was at it soon enough, a fresh cup of coffee in hand as he sat at the desk and checked the online shop to see if any orders had come in over the last day or two. And if anyone needed him, he would be working out what project needed to be done first, but he was definitely distractable!

Early that morning, the new, heavier, sturdier glass plates for the greenhouse had arrived, so several boxes were stacked wherever they could find a spot in the shop, a few of them opened so that Amaya could start inspecting them with a critical eye and, even more importantly, start taking proper measurements so she could get started on the framing for them.

Could she just mostly fit them into the framing already up there on the greenhouse right now? Yeah, sure, of course she could.

But why would she do that when she could hammer up some new framing and make them even prettier and possibly even add some strategic spikes?

It wasn't just aesthetics! It was for protection now, too!

Dwight had made decent progress with the inventory order that had been delivered the other day, and pretty much everything was put away. The inventory list on the computer had finally been updated. Dwight didn't know how well he would do, but he was going to give this whole online inventory management thing a try.... for however long he remembered to do it.

If anyone needed Dwight, they would find him at the desk in front of the computer, maybe in various stages of muttering or cursing under his earth as he tried to figure this out. But the shop was open and he was in foe anyone who needed help- preferably non-tech-related help!

Dwight glanced over at Snoopy who was busy chasing pieces of woodshavings around the shop floor, and getting into some interesting poses himself as he ran and rolled around.

Welcome, welcome, one and all! Spring is in the air, and Fandom is celebrating with a good, old fashioned haphazard market on the sketchy side of town! That's right, it's the

There were signs up all over town, some nicely printed, others clearly hand scribbled. There were balloons and streamers on the propped open doors to the warehouse itself, and a raucous mix of deeply outdated party music blaring over a boombox from inside. But he was back on track mostly and so had set himself up at his usual table by the window, mocha coffee in hand and his phone and notepad beside him as he worked on inventory and figuring out a few projects he had wanted to get to for around the shop and apartment. There was a lot of tapping and scratching through things and not a lot of writing, but he was getting there slowly yet surely.

Once more, Irene could hardly help but feel that she had outdone herself – though she could also quite easily admit she'd had help.

This year, she'd eschewed the usual fluffy Valentine's theming and had instead leaned full-force into having a hookup (ahem) with the blacksmith – every surface was decorated again with beautifully-detailed steel roses, featuring occasional pops of color amongst their petals, and intricate metallic vinework decorated the columns, displays, light fixtures and countertops. Discreet enough to be classy but prominent that there was no missing it, Irene had also affixed little signs crediting Amaya for her work, with accompanying business cards for all your blacksmithing needs.

Off to one side, there was a completely moddable NPC bartender Irene had hired off the mainland, well-stocked with thematic drinks, and to another little side was a table that would almost certainly be described in much more detail in the comments, featuring Summer's shots of varying…shapes.

Tables draped with red and pink satin accents were distributed through the store with the requisite sex-shoppy displays on them -- massage oils near the entrance, vibrators, plugs and dildos up in the middle, and the more intense gear towards the back. Naturally, some of those steel roses were laid out artfully amongst the toys, perhaps in an effort to render the toys less intimidating by comparison. Near to the entrance was a table with a large glass fishbowl and a stack of little slips of paper, so that once again, guests could enter to win one of several amazing door prizes!

Welcome to Dite's! Grab a cocktail, enter to win a novelty dildo or a beautiful set of daggers. Perfect for the last-minute Valentine's shopper!

There was a lot going on in the shop, with several boxes taped and labeled and ready to be shipped, a few larger ones set aside to go to the mainland, and a few final pieces still needing a little finishing touch here and there. There were also a few things set out here and there in the display case and shelves in case anyone needed a last-minute gift for someone.

Dwight was glad for the work, of course, but he was also ready for a little break in the orders and a chance to work on some of his personal projects. He hated that he had to put most of them on the back burner for a while now, with all the holidays hitting nearly back-to-back the last few months. It would be good to get back to things with fewer hearts and a lot less cutesy stuff...

So if anyone was in the area, the shop was open, and a sign advertising 40% personalization was set out front of the shop as well. Dwight was in and trying to finish up those last few projects while Snoopy was content to chance a couple of the bigger woodshavings across the floor of the shop.

And she was going to be perfectly honest. She did not understand Valentine's Day very well to begin with, but considering the knife set she was currently working on, she felt she did not understand it even any more than she did before.

Although, really, she was just glad it wasn't mushy, and it did afford her the opportunity to see what Dwight had to say about maybe whipping up a good trout case for it.

A lot of Gladio morning that Tuesday was trying to figure out whether to ask about one of the staff members doing some sort of training that was focused on a small yellow square placed on the floor. They were pretty basic workout steps, some push-ups, some kind of jumping thing, some twists on the floor, but all focused on that small yellow square.

Eventually, though, he cracked.

"What's up with the square?" he finally asked another staff member.

"Oh, those are the new Square Masters!" he explained, with a note of excitement. "It's supposed to revolutionize your workout, by using one of nature's most perfect shapes for your perfect shape."

There was...a pause.

"But it's just a square," Gladio pointed out, to which the staff member confirmed cheerfully, and, watching the one working out do a couple of spins on the square, found himself next asking, "And how much are these things costing us?"

And that was what lead to Gladio's afternoon being spent repackaging a bunch of yellow squares to be promptly returned back to whence they came.

Having her weapons class to start her days made Tuesdays a tricky one, as talking about certain weapons in class would inevitably just make Amaya want to work on some of those weapons when she came back 'round to open the shop. And, usually, that wouldn't be much of a problem, except that she had only a few weeks now to figure out and forge together some stuff for Irene's party, and since she did have plenty of ideas (and they were definitely Amaya Blackstone ideas, which meant big and meaty projects more often than not), she knew she had to really narrow in and focus and get to work.

There were several sketches and blueprints for various displays and other things covering one of the worktables, things she'd likely go over with Irene or need to swing by Irene's shop for measurements and a better idea of what sort of space and...erm...products she might be working with, so they were mostly for later in the week. But what she was less concerned about needing approval and actually wanted to be a bit more of a surprise was the potential, unfortunately very mushy-themed contribution to the door prizes. Because even if she sort of hated the idea behind it, she was pretty excited about the process of making it and the challenge it presented to her as a weaponsmith. It was a good idea, she felt, and she was very proud of it, even if it would make her wrinkle her nose a lot once it was finished.

But so help her if it wasn't actually, in her opinion, kind of perfect.

So that was what she was working on, especially since that required a lot of work at the anvil with a couple of blades with some less than standard designs, so ultimately not a bad way to spend her day.

It was definitely warm coffee weather as far as Dwight was concerned. It was still quite cold in the mornings, so much so that Snoopy was still refusing to go more than a block or two from the apartment.  So Dwight did his morning run alone (yes he was still doing those because yes he was little bit insane).

When the run was finished, Dwight headed to The Perk for a well-earned treat of a hot coffee and a breakfast sandwich.  With breakfast in hand, he made his way to a table and sat down, watching through the front window as a few people came and went. Every now and then Dwight's attention would fall to his phone as he worked on updating his online shop and starting working on the first big supply order of the new year. And that meant a lot of personalized pieces, so Dwight was getting the shops set up and ready for the workload he hoped would come in to keep him a bit distracted.

Most of his work seemed to come from the online shop and the mainland, but there were likely a few residents who might need some help with the upcoming holiday. Dwight even figured it wouldn't hurt to put up the sign board by the door.  So, if anyone came by they would see the simple yet to the point sign out that morning:

So, if anyone needed him, Dwight would be in the shop, going through inventory to make the first order list of the new year and also using the time to do some cleaning and straightening up around the shop.

It was Christmas Day and as one of the island residents who didn't have to worry about traveling and had stayed there, Dwight was making the most of the day. The fireplace was nice and Snoopy was gladly spending the day curled up in front of it.  The gift had been nice too, really thoughtful of the island and it HAD made Dwight smile for a minute or two.

But with nothing really to do to occupy his time and not feeling like spending all day in the apartment, Dwight eventually made his way to The Perk for some coffee and a Christmas treat or two. After a little small talk with the barista about the gift they had received that morning, Dwight took his drink ad snack and situated himself by the window to watch the gently falling snow.

With the last of the orders shipped out and on their way, things were fairly quiet at the shop.  Dwight was just putting the finishing touches on a few things he needed to <s>handwavely most likely</s> hand deliver.

The one good thing about not going anywhere or really doing anything for the holiday was he didn't have to run around like a crazy person right now. No last minute gift buying, no travel stress, no trying to juggle multiple schedules. Just him and Snoopy, hanging out and enjoying a few days down time.  It would be a nice change of pace for once.

So, if anyone stopped by, they would find the shop open but fairly quiet, with Dwight likely sitting at the counter enjoying his coffee and watching the little elves run around repairing some of the tools and what not that were honestly in need of some work, so he was not about to try and stop them.

One of the nice things about not being too strongly affected by Fandom's latest bout of weirdness was that, for once, Amaya's workflow had not been too terribly interrupted by all the nonsense and shenanigans. In fact, it went by so uninterrupted, that she'd managed to get all of her holiday special orders finished and shipped on time, and now all she had was the hope that someone would swing in for either something simple and quick or already made for a few last minute gifts or, even better, completely holiday-unrelated business.

And while one of the worktables was cluttered with a few sketch ideas that really leaned into this whole 'time travel is just a rip in time, and what better to rip time than a sharp blade?' concept of it all, but she was hunched over the anvil today, working on something very delicate, very small, that would probably just be a passing fancy and amount to not much at all, but she was making it anyway, just in case she ended up on a certain side if she ever managed to fall off of that fence she was sitting on.

The weekend had been a handwavey mess with everything going on. Things seemed back to normal now but Dwight still felt on edge and couldn't really focus.

And there had been other news that had been waiting for him when he 'snapped out of it' and was more himself again. It was.... a lot to process. And sitting in the apartment wasn't helping much, so Dwight had bundled up and made the trek out to the Perk.

"Just some hot chocolate, please," he said to the barista, not feeling much like anything fancy right then.

"Uhhhh, Tino?" asked Summer, staring suspiciously at a spot on the bar. "Where did the Beanie Babies go?"

He gave her an odd look and she shook her head. "Seriously, though, weren't there Beanie Babies on the bar for some reason just a second ago? I just turned to grab something, and now they're---oh. Ugh. It's this island again, isn't it? It's being weird again?"

Because, look, Summer was just a grad student who picked up this bar job on this island because she thought it would be cute and help her pay for her school. Not that she needed the money, because her mother was a very successful people surgeon, but she wanted to pay her own way, you know? And besides what she experienced on occasion on this island, nothing weird ever happened to her ever.

Well, there was that one time a version of her from a different dimension beat her up, stole her clothes, locked her in a mall dressing room, and then tried to steal her girlfriend, but she tried not to think about that.

"I'm literally here only one day a week, you think it could at least skip that day of the week..."

But Summer went back to her business, until the Beanie Babies showed up again when she least expected it, causing her to almost drop a bottle in her surprise.

"So the semester is wrapping up" Dwight said as he stood in the workshop and addressed everyone. "You should have chosen your final project to work on by now. If you have not yet decided feel free to come talk and we can decide on something appropriate. We will then start working on things today and you will finish and show off your final project at the final class."

See simple and easy. They could do this.

"So unless anyone has any questions right now, let's get started."

Feeling the need for a change of scenery, Will had headed out to the Perk, and was now settled at a table with an eggnog latte and… some sort of pastry. He hadn’t paid too much attention, just asked the barista to pick whatever. Piled on the table was a stack of medical journals, and though he was currently absorbed in reading one, he was totally interruptible.

The morning run had been cut short by several groups of caroling gremlins.  Snoopy had been far more interested in trying to 'play' with them than their run around the island. And Dwight had gone this long without experiencing a gremlin bite, and he wanted to keep it that way. And he also didn't know what might happen to Snoopy if he got bit.  So, with the pup safely back at the apartment, Dwight ventured out again and managed to get to The Perk with only a few interruptions from carolers he was afraid to say no to.

"This happens every year?" he asked the barista as he waited for his coffee.  He somehow had missed them last year....

Dwight wasn't expecting much for the class. What with it being down to two students and one of them likely more focused on the upcoming party than the class. But he was still there and had the shop set up in case anyone did want to work on those projects. He would be working on finishing up a few things himself, so he was there if anyone else was around,

After the standard morning run, and the reminder that the colder weather was definitely on its way, Dwight decided to stop by The Perk for some liquid fuel.  Sure, he had coffee back home. But the temptation was too strong and when he found out from the Barista that they had the mocha peppermint bark drinks back, well, he obviously had to have one right? So, Dwight was rewarding himself with a mocha peppermint monstrosity as he sat by the window and went over the mental to-do list he had for the week.
