Love was in the air! Well, not really. That was later. But metaphorically, love, air, etc!

Caritas was decked out for Valentine's Day, with bunches of heart-shaped balloons in strategic places, copious amounts of pink and red confetti at the tables (a conversation starter!) and heart-shaped string lights above the bar and stage. And don't forget the glittery pink banner:

A few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage. She was probably covered in glitter now. "Hello, everybody, and welcome to Three Minute Dates! If you've never done this before, the rules are simple. At 8:00 on the dot, we'll call your name along with one other person's. You'll get to know each other as well as you can in three minutes, and then the gong will sound and you'll get another name to meet. You'll do that for five rounds, and then if there's anyone you want to talk to more, you can meet up at the bar. Good luck, everybody!"

Ghanima had been frantically commuting between Fandom and the Imperium for the last few months, trying to balance her need for space from the politics with, well, her literal need to be in the middle of the politics.

So when she'd heard it was 'that time' in Fandom, she'd excused herself to take time away, in hopes of getting in some actual socializing.

And drinks she didn't have to check for poison, but mostly socializing.

Goose wasn't participating this time round but he knew people who were and wanted to be there for moral support, he was avoiding drinking alcohol for a change and was sticking to a soft drink after he'd gotten quite a few of the jello shots at the party last night.

Amicia hadn't... meant... to come here. She had wandered, mind set on other things, for over an hour now. But something about the light, the people inside, had drawn her into the bar.

And now she sat there, looking a bit dazed.

Between Stark turning back from being a koala and more than a handful of long-simmering boyfriend woes finally feeling like they were coming to a boil, Summer needed something fun to distract her and maybe spend at least fifteen minutes not thinking about any of that, so at least the timing of Three Minute Dates suddenly felt very....fortuitous.

She was definitely going to need a shot or two before she went in, though, and, a moment later, she realized, "Hey, you know what, Tino? Get me a Summer Smith. You know. For old time's sake."

And to help her think about all of her growth as a ~~character~~ person, because, good lord, seventeen-(eighteen?)-year-old Summer, seriously?

"Hey, Summer," Rey greeted her. "Wasn't sure I'd see you here."

"Hey, Rey," said Summer, giving her a faint smile in response, and tried to decide how honest to be with the next part, but, since it was Rey, she followed it up with an honest, "I....really didn't think I would be. But. You know. Got nothing better to do, and it's been a hot minute..."

She then quirked an intrigued brow at her. "You going into this voluntarily tonight?"

Rey tilted her head at that, wanting to ask more, but she wasn't sure if that was where Summer wanted to leave it.

"I haven't been getting out much. And I can spend fifteen minutes talking to people," she explained.

"Awwww," said Summer, beaming at Rey, and not even facetiously! Like, she felt genuinely proud of her, to hear those words coming out of her mouth. "Look at you! Progress! Fifteen whole minutes!"

"I've done this before!" Rey said. She made the effort twice a year!

"And I was very proud of you all those other times, too!" Summer assured her, with a congratulatory pat on her shoulder and a grin. "Hey, who knows? Maybe we'll even get matched up with each other."

"I would not mind three minute dating you," Rey told her.

The whole Three Minute Dates thing had gone pretty well last time, so Connor figured he might as well give it another go. So he sat at the bar enjoying a gin and tonic while he waited for things to kick off.

Kurt wasn't usually here, but it was 3MDs and really, these were more like socializing meet-ups rather than actual dates so.... it was with that in mind he had showed up, mostly just to see who all was there. He wasn't sure just yet if he was going to sign up or not. Maybe by the time he finished his soda, he would make up his mind.

Dwight was definitely not here for the whole 3-minute dates thing. He just happened to be at the bar when he realized what night it was. He figured he would stick around long enough to see how other people's dates went. That was safe right? He'd be fine to stay. That wouldn't end with him being a victim to island shenanigans now, would it?

Yeah, Rosa was just here for the free entertainment.

If someone like Kitty or Amaya tried to stealthily sign her up, that would be fine, too, actually doing the dates could still be pretty amusing, but Rosa discovered the last time around that getting to witness the potential trainwrecks without having to subject yourself to talking to people for five minutes? Brilliant. Honestly, she wished she'd have realized that sooner!

Stark had been a koala for a week. Stark had suddenly stopped being a koala while in the lap of someone he had very complicated feelings about. Stark really needed a drink.

Stark also had no idea this was happening tonight. Oh no. Of course Tino was going to gleefully sign him up.

Yes.

Yes, Octavia was actually here. And yes, Octavia appeared to be participating in this thing out of her own free volition. Nobody ask her for her reasons, they probably had something to do with roots and guilt and reaching out.

Anyway, she was getting a drink for something to hold in her hand.
