Fix and Clean Shop- Sunday

Dwight was up as usual bright an early. The shop was clean and organized and all current projects had been completed a while ago. The creative muse was playing hide and seek is seemed, which meant an unusually slow day for once. So, with a second... or was it third... cup of coffee in hand, Dwight settled down behind the desk and pulled out his phone and started scrolling through things, trying to find something that struck his interest... at least until the creative muse clicked back in and he could work on something again. In the meantime, the shop was open, if a bit quiet.

Marc had been meaning to swing by Dwight's shop so when he passed by and saw it open he came on in. "Hey."

"Marc, hey there" Dwight said looking up from his phone. "Been a while which is mostly on me. How you been?"

"Doing okay," Marc said. "How about you?"

[alwaysonguard]

"Well enough. Had some stuff take me out of town for a while but I should be back. Trying to get back into the swing of things" Dwight replied with a small lopsided grin. "You and Steven doing well I hope? How's everything with Midnight going?"

"Pretty good," Marc said. He leaned against the counter to make himself comfortable. "Can't remember if you know we've got two on the second floor now? First floor full? So going great. Did a good job on all the furniture in those rooms. Got it done just in time."

"I had heard you guys were filling up over there. That's great" Dwight said with a nod to the chair if Marc wanted to sit. "Glad it's all serving you well and everyone seems to be liking it."

Marc took the offered seat. "Got another project if you're up for it. We're gonna make one of the rooms in our place a guest room. Could use bed, bureau, all that. No rush. Not like we get a lot of visitors."

Typically just when everyone else on the island had visitors too. Funny how that worked.

"I won't say no to work" Dwight said with a laugh. "And a guest room can be a bit handy for certain... island shenanigans" he said with a small knowing nod, though it had been some time since he'd had a visitor himself.

"We had it as an office for Steven but he never uses it," Marc said. "So we'll just haul his desk into the library and free up the space."

Yes, they could just create another room but if space was going unused why not simply reallocate?

"Sounds like you maybe missed out on some of the latest?" Marc asked. "Island bullshit, I mean."

"I've got the measurements from the office still so I can work on making up a few new pieces for you- no problem." Dwight tilted his head a little at that second bit Marc said. "Seems so and I am honestly quite thankful for that. Though I hope things haven't been too crazy... comparatively... around here at least?"

"Comparatively," Marc said. Since that was definitely a key word. Marc tried to think what the last thing even was. "French fries came to life. That was weird."

There'd been other stuff too but don't expect Marc to remember these details. It happened, it was done, that was the important part.

Hope there was more coffee left! Miguel saw the shop open and strolled in normally, going directly to the coffee pot. "Morning."

[alwaysonguard]

Dwight would raise an eyebrow slightly but smile, shaking his head as he watched Miguel walk his usual path to the coffee. "Morning. Good thing you showed up or I might have had to drink the entire pot myself!"

"I'm a good friend that way," Miguel said. "I'll make that sacrifice. How have you been?"

He hopped up on a spare section of counter.

"Knew there was a reason I kept ya around" Dwight said with a small wink. "And things are alright, had to go take care of some family matters. Had me out of town for a while but I should hopefully be back."

He took a sip of his coffee before walking to the pot to top it off and warm it up a little.

"How about you? You and Rosa doing alright?"

"When are we not?" Miguel answered, smirking back. "Good to see you again. Up to anything interesting?"

"Some things are always reliable thankfully" Dight replied. "And it's good to be back, funny how this place grows on you after a while... you miss it in an odd sort of way."
