It was still a beautiful day and there was still plenty of wonderful food in the Park, welcoming visitors to Fandom Island.

The registration desk was still open and the banner waved in the comfortable breeze announcing the event of the day.

Angela grabbed her nametag and looked around for both her sons. If she had opinions about the people around her, she stoicly kept them to herself.

The translocation spell was aimed perfectly and brought Nysander right to the edge of the park. He approached the registration table and had little difficulty finding his name tag. Some determined person had written his full name - Nysander i Azusthra Hypirius Meksandor Illandi - in neat, tiny letters.

He discovered that if you peeled off the backing, the scrap of paper had a sticky side. How very clever! He attached the tag firmly to his robe and looked around for Seregil.

"Maybe I could tell them my name is Tom," he deadpanned, fixing the "Hellboy" nametag to his coat. Better not stain the leather.

Cid was stomping around looking at people. Squinting. Trying to see his Rikku.

Nametags. Pfft. He took one and slapped it right on his chest.

Sticking a name tag along the edge of her shirt, Nancy eyes were wide as she looked around at all the people.

Mal took his nametag, and looked around for anyone he might recognize, crewmembers or not. He had a small idea of how this place worked now, after all.

The President arrived at the registration table wearing a neat green pantsuit and flanked by two Secret Service agents.

Her assistant, Cynthia, looked through the name tags, pulled one out and frowned.

"Is there a problem?" the President asked.

Cynthia showed it to her. "I'll ask for a new one."

The President's name was written simply as "Katharine Powers." No title or honorifics. Her mouth twitched in a small smile. "That's all right," she said. "It's one of the reasons we chose this school, after all." A town where President Katharine Vaughn Powers wasn't a household name would hopefully give Meg some room to grow on her own. "Why don't you take the afternoon off?" she said to Cyntha.

Her assistant looked unsure, torn between a few precious hours of free time and the sense that she might not be needed.

"It's fine," the President - Katharine - assured her. "I have my Blackberry. I'll page you if I need anything."

Cynthia smiled and nodded. "Thank you," she said, and headed off to elsewhere in the park.

Katharine looked around for her daughter. It felt odd to have an entire weekend to be a mother.

David had a brief moment of pleasant surprise that his sister had registered him under than name he'd chosen for himself, the one that he could barely ever get her to call him, when he saw David Qin on the nametag he picked up.

Then he realized that she could hardly sign him up under any name that would connect him with her if he was meant to be checking up on her ex. He attached the tag to his jacket with a sigh, and scanned the crowd for a small blonde girl. So he could... not approach her.

Why couldn't he have a sane family?

Lizzie, how have you come to be in such a very strange place?

She did, however, feel a flash of irritation at her nametag. "Miss Jane Bennet" indeed. She might not lord it over her sisters like some girls did, but she was entitled to be addressed as "Miss Bennet."

Security 2

Even though the event is in the Town and weapons are not being collected, security is always watching out for the best interests of the population.

With a thoughtful expression now on her face, Daisy also remained, still watching, although her eye was now intrigued more than anything else. After all, observing interactions between people who have not seem each other for a while was just as informative (if not more so) than all the documents she'd been reading.

Because it's always snack time somewhere, there's plenty of moddable food laid out to provide at least one talking point after the initial greetings between relatives.

Henry wouldn't be around until after sunset and Tony knew no one else was coming for him, but hey! Free food. He filled up a plate and looked around at the people in the park. Interesting family some people had.

Rodney was, thankfully, not expecting to see any members of his family (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/3256966.html?thread=137303174#t137303174) today. However, that didn't stop him from taking advantage of all the free food.

Harry had made his way over to the food table eventually and was now systematically working his way through a very large plate of food and still keeping an eye out for any visitors that might belong to him.

Mostly he was eating though.
