Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

There had been one error last night (attempting to be social) followed by many more errors (playing a game because she was curious and also she thought she'd be too boring) and today being here felt like another error.

On one hand Rey hadn't had a crazy amount, on the other hand, she had no tolerance because for some reason she didn't like drinking, so there would be no running if a lava course today. What there was was a styrofoam container full of Waffle House hash browns that she absolutely could not do yet, and her sitting on the floor with her eyes closed. There were Jedi techniques to deal with this! She'd read them! Good time to practice them!

Anakin came in after a deeply confusing Doctoring class. "Rey?"

Rey waved him in, eyes still closed.

Anakin grinned. "Long yesterday?" he guessed.

[thatwaslucky]

"I genuinely didn't think I'd have any reason to drink," she said. "It's not terrible, but it's not good."

It was gonna have to happen again in order to get her to do other stuff. Irony, you scamp!

"Have you been hydrating?" Anakin asked.

"So much. Plus aspirin, plus coffee. I could not do Waffle House."

"Oh, is it back?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's back. I have no idea for how long but it looked pretty busy."

If by 'busy' she meant 'someone threatening to lay on the floor.'

"I think they put something into the potatoes," Anakin said.

"Grease," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Definitely the grease," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"I know there are techniques to deal with at least the concept of this-" No Jedi was writing anything in an ancient text about hangovers. "-so I'm trying it out."

"How's it working out?" Anakin asked, settling down on the ground next to her.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey tilted her hand in a so-so gesture. "I get the concept just fine, it's the concentration when you've got a headache that's weird. But that's something I need to get over."

Anakin nodded with a small grin. "It's an essential technique," he agreed, aiming for fake Jedi Master solemnity.

"So you've had to do it?" she said.

[sith_happened]

"I wouldn't say frequently, but yes. On several occasions."

[thatwaslucky]

"Any tips?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"Reach through the pain, kind of like breaking the surface of the water to reach the liquid below. It only hurts a little."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh, if it's only a little," she said.

[sith_happened]

"Barely noticeable," Anakin assured her.

[thatwaslucky]

"I wonder if it's a smaller version of what I did on Exegol," she mused.

If it was, she was going to be so mad at herself that she hadn't figured it out sooner.

"Try it and see," Anakin suggested.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey closed her eyes again and reached inward.

A lot of what she did, she did instinctively in the moment when she needed it, so trying to recreate it was trickier. And this was a case of her trying to get something out of her system while that had been bringing something in...
