He might not have thought so at the time, but working the store with Orihime had been a lot of fun for Chad, making it a little bittersweet to have the place so quiet and calm and chill today.

The very smooth jazz playing from the speakers probably only highlighted the feel, but it felt nice. It had been a good weekend.

After last night, a good part of him wouldn't have minded staying in. To think. Or... break something. But Cable had work to do, and so he arrived at the town hall bright and early, supporting a five o' clock shadow and an expression that was only a little haggard.

He greeted the aides stoically on his way in, then sat down. To brood do paperwork.

Now that the weekend had come and gone, Ender felt... lighter. While the burden on his shoulders hadn't much shifted, the absence of other burdens had become more pronounced, and he felt more... focused.

It'd only been an hour since he got to work, but he was already making good headway on the security system at Stark Industries.

He might have added in some variables with eccentric names, based off people he knew.

Worf had set the shop up with his usual diligence however his interest today was specifically on a data padd that had all the schematics on his new class 2 shuttle.

Which he had read mostly the night before but now seemed to be in the process of memorizing it.

[Oh so boring day ahead of me.]

It was a rather subdued Joan who showed up to work on Monday.

The sign that Eliza had put together the previous week was wilting, but Joan didn't have the mental capacity to fix it.

Her weekend had gone well, overall, except for the bomb that Kevin had handwavily dropped yesterday evening about the Baker's suing her family. She was going to have words with a certain someone next time He deigned to put in an appearance.

Liz was on time for her shift. As she made sure that everything was set up before she opened she thought about Parents Weekend and was glad that it gone fairly well for her, she had definitely liked having Professor Bruttenholm and Hellboy visit her for the weekend.

There was certainly no shortage of paperwork in any police station, the kind of paperwork that Daisy, though new, could easily do, the kind of paperwork that Daisy, in fact, could do in her sleep, the kind of paperwork that Daisy, out of necessity, had convinced herself that she enjoyed thoroughly. It would certainly be the type of paperwork she would be hacking away at now if it weren't for the fact that she found herself, oddly, distracted. She would work for just a bit before holes would start growing in her mind. They weren't big, black, oppressive holes, but simple, burning, nagging holes regarding so many of the reports she'd read over the weekend, and they seemed to form right over the bits of Daisy's brain that allowed her to dot i's and cross t's, and so she'd have Ralph fetch for her this report or that report, pouring over them to assure the hole in her head that it had no business being there, and yes, the report did say what it said. And, no matter how preposterous it sounded, it was on official paper, with official markings, and an overall official look, and anything that was official couldn't possible be untrue.

It had been a long weekend for Jess, and with no classes to go to, he had every intention of spending the day pretending Luke and his mom had never been here. For now, he was at one of the corner tables in the Perk, nursing a cup of coffee and trying to drown out the sounds of anyone else as he read.

Alex opened up the Magic Box on time, still smiling thanks to Parents Weekend. It had been a blast. She'd spent time with her best friend and now, Alex missed Harper.

She wished she could've stayed longer, but even so, it was nice to have that bit of time with her.

The Magic Box was open.

Lacey was a bit mopey and not at all late when she opened the diner today; as much as she didn't miss being the constant scapegoat for every minor scandal in Dog River (well, at least the ones Hank didn't get blamed for) it had been good to see Brent again, and she had to admit she missed everyone back there.

But she had to admit, as she wiped down tables and freshened up flower vases, that she was really proud of the diner she had here.

Besides, there was something to be said for living in a place that would have Hank and Davis salivating with envy if they only knew about what went on here. Which, hopefully, they wouldn't, if Brent kept his word about not telling them.

Gone were last weeks pimp hats it was now officially the week of Halloween and the bar was now decorated in fashion with pumpkins, orange lights, black bats and streamers. It made everything very festive and kept the zombie quiet.

Maybe Arashi could try out some of the cocktails he had been thinking up.

So. Ray had a date. A real, actual date. Okay, the lady in question had been a little sketchy on the details to that regard, but it wasn't gonna stop him from tossing on his best shirt and jacket and making his way over to the establishment in question.

Where he was gonna wait. Apparently he was early. Whoops.

[ ray's here for one, but the restaurant is clearly open for all other uses ]

The Gig, Monday

Bender had had no visitors over the weekend - something for which he had an ice pick, the map industry on Omicron Persei 8 and Fry's tendency to push any big shiny button that caught his attention to thank.

Not that Bender wanted those lousy jerks here, drinking his beer, anyway.

He opened up The Gig, set out the sign and went out back to the horses, where - because he could - he challenged the nearest one to a bending contest.

A short while later and he was smugly gloating at his rival, who seemed content to just occasionally nudge at the metal bar.

Amateur.

For no particular reason, Sokka was feeling particularly uplifted and inspired today, which was the reason for the sign in the window:

SALE
25% off anything made of steel

...Okay, so that didn't exactly fit with the mood. But he was going to insist that it made sense, really. Could he do that? Yes, he could.
