End of the Causeway, Sunday Early Afternoon

Even with the sun out, it was still fairly chilly on the causeway, creating a brisk reminder of what everyone would be leaving behind for the next week as they traveled through the Caribbean.

As the students, teachers, and guests gathered to wait for the portal to Florida, everyone was given a copy of their lodging information and a trip itinerary to peruse:

Eastern Caribbean Cruise Itinerary (7 Days)
Sunday: Portal to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Ship departs 5:00PM)
Monday: Princess Cays, Bahamas (Docked 9AM - 5PM)
Tuesday: At Sea
Wednesday: St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles (Docked 9AM - 5PM)
Thursday: St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (Docked 9AM - 5PM)
Friday: Grand Turk (Docked 9AM - 5PM)
Saturday: At Sea
Sunday: Portal back from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Portal opens 7AM)

Toby was beyond ready to get away from skies that looked like snow could fall at any moment. He checked and rechecked his bag for his SPF 5, so excited to tan again.

This was either the best thing ever or the worst thing ever. Chuck hadn't quite decided yet.

Emmett was there, completely bundled up to avoid dazzling, and was ignoring the cell phone that had been going off in his coat all day. Edward seemed to think that Emmett couldn't handle going on a cruise for seven days without exposing himself in every sense of the word.

He was probably right.

Ender had packed. He'd packed lightly, but more out of a lack of his own belongings than anything else. Just the mouse-droid, some clothes, a toothbrush and his laptop. He stood by the causeway with his backpack slung comfortably over one shoulder.

To say Angela was looking forward to this, would probably be considered a wild understatement. She was bouncing on her toes a little to keep warm as they waited.

Who cared if it was cold right here, right now? Spring Break!

Mac was loitering, a large overnight bag slung over her shoulder as she read through the pieces of paper they'd been given.

She had no idea who this person she was rooming with was, but hopefully they'd be friendly, at least?

John kept repeating a very quiet, "Vacation," to himself as he waited, hoping this trip went better than the last week had for him.

As far as the weather went, it wasn't raining.

Arthur was more than ready to go. He was packed rather light - Merlin could deal with the worst of it - and had not at all hidden anything in his pack in case it was needed. No. His glance about the premises may have looked idle, but it wasn't quite.

The thing was, Katchoo had signed up for the cruise, but being in a cranky (oh, surprise) and sleep-deprived mood when she'd read the signup sheet, she thought she'd been requesting a room to herself.

"Sonofa -- !"

And so there was one stormy-faced little blonde leaning over the causeway wall with one hand wrapped around the handle of her rolling suitcase and the fingers of the other clamped tight around a cigarette, smoking like crazy.

Lois was bouncing on her heels, excited about the trip even though it was freaking freezing out here now. She just needed to imagine sunshine, pina coladas, shirtless guys...

Hannibal had his bags at his feet and a hat on his head in anticipation of the sun. He didn't know Francine but he didn't care. Meeting new people was fun for him.

He was so ready for this cruise.

Ned hadn't known what to pack for a cruise so he'd packed a little of everything. He was more relaxed upon seeing who he was rooming with (thank goodness) but he was still a ball of nerves, basically.

Meg had her bag and two rather nervous looking agents lurking in the background. She still couldn't believe she'd passed on skiing to go on this trip.

Gavin was a desert boy and, as such, hadn't had much exposure to water before coming here. So, the thought of spending a whole week on the water was both new and intriguing.

He had a pack on his back and a few more at his feet and was ready to go.

Lee had had a nice weekend (very, very nice) so he was out early, smiling widely and keeping warm while he waited to leave.

Fraser had both his and Robin's bags piled at his feet. He was amazed at how much one woman could bring on a week long trip but he wasn't going to deny her things like this after her long week.

Alex was so ready for this trip. She may have been bouncing a bit, from excitement. She'd managed to pack most of what she wanted into one suitcase -- the rest was in a smaller duffel bag, by her feet.

She was looking forward to getting a tan, oh yes.

After a handwavey somewhat tearful goodbye at the stables, Adora found her way to the causeway, having no idea what to expect from this new experience, but still feeling filled with a cheery sort of hope.

Jess had been tempted to just stay in the dorm for break, but he wasn't too keen on the idea of being completely alone, and from the look of the crowd on the causeway, that probably would have been the case. He only had one bag with him, and he was using it for something to sit down on as he waited.

Finding out that he couldn't take his gun along was a big blow to Ronon, and he crankily stood to one side with his pack, wondering if he'd stowed enough knives on his person to get by if anything went down.
