Lana opened the store today, feeling a little low, but also a bit excited about the start of new workshops. Though, they'd stuck her in a class about Redemption that she certainly hadn't signed up for and wouldn't let her out of.

Actually, she'd only be here until just before 5th period due to the workshops, so Millie had agreed to finish the rest of her shift for her.

Ami spent the whole day behind the counter, staring into one spot. The shock of no longer having a boyfriend mostly left her speechless and unable to do anything or concentrate on anything. She is here to help anyone, if she is needed.

[open, though emo alert]

"Volfgang Puck got married."

"Huh?" said Mary, looking up from the purchasing order she was working on. Gunther wasn't even in his front-of-the-house chef uniform. He had on a really bad polyester suit and his eyes were red and puffy.

"Ze man has at least 14 restaurants and has time to get married, and he doesn't even cook every night like I do," said Gunther before bursting into tears.

"Oh, come here," said Mary before giving Gunther a big hug. She let him cry for 30 seconds until Gunther tried to cop a feel. "Hey! Keep your hands to yourself, buddy, or you'll have to find yourself another job."

Eventually, when Gunther pulled himself together, he got out the specials board.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Bart was much too excited about his first day of work. It was almost a whole hour before he started to get antsy. A new record for him.

So... he started playing with the Squishie machine he named Bob. It looked like a Bob.

Then he tried rearranging the inventory. A few times. Feng shui and all that.

He did the helpful thing then and added yet more glitter to the Help Wanted sign Turtle still had up. Glitter, he was a firm believer, was a perfect way to grab people's attention.

As Setsuna came in to open the post office today, she narrowed her eyes at Not Tiddles as the cat sat there on the counter, tail swishing back and forth innocently. She wondered if Karal had brought that person he said would talk to Not Tiddles in yet, and there was a moment where they seemed to have had a staring contest for supremacy. Finally, the cat moved, hopping off the counter and Setsuna let out a short laugh of victory and took her rightful spot.

True, Not Tiddles had moved because the sound of Gladys pouring the food into the bowl from the back room had drifted in, but a victory was still a victory. The cat's soul, clearly, was weak.

The post office is open!

Chad came in, opened the store, did what he needed to to get all the main things done, and then spent the rest of the day trying to coax Prince Oscar Pedro to stop sulking underneath all the CD racks. He was being an emo little naked kitty today because he liked Teddy better when he was a puppy. When Teddy was a puppy, Prince Oscar Pedro didn't have to go do Hallway Playtime.

Today's Mix: Teddy.

Prince Oscar Pedro let out lots of meows of protest. "I'm not rubbing it in," Chad insisted. "I am giving you hard time for being an emo naked kitty."

Groovy Tunes is open!

Sunday had been quiet in the church, mostly. At least no services - a proper day of rest. Of course, Gabriel had been to that party, which had been a source of free food and some moderatly interesting conversation. Well, conversation wasn't really his thing. And Mary's suggestion that services would bring more people to the church had been a little disturbing.

Still, today was a new day. Another day without backpain.

[The church is open]

Last week had been a long week with lots of paperwork and too little sleep. The two weren't entirely related, but somehow they did seem to always end up happening simultaneously. Whatever it was, the heap of paperwork from the previous week had slinked down to one neat stack. A high stack, but still just one, and Roy's mood was definitely better too after last night's party.

The door to his office was left open so he could hear in case anyone dropped by the front desk.

((Open, of course.))

Lucifer was not, in fact, behind the bar tonight. Tonight it was Musubi's turn to take care of the customers.

He was around. Somewhere.

Best not to ask what he was doing though.

[[ooc: Going to see Transformers tonight, please mod Musubi!]]

Apparently Yitzhak had overindulged while, ahem, 'sampling' the case of Zima that had been a "please don't fire me" present from the busboy. (Cheap vermouth on the rocks might have been fine for Hedwig, but now that he was independent, Yitzhak had some standards, dammit.) Thus, the diner was opened a little bit late today, and the hangover had the pleasant side effect of making Yitzhak extra grumpy and therefore keeping the busboy paranoid.

Currently, he was behind the counter, building a model of the Eiffel Tower out of Gummi Bears. The sign in the front window now read:

Help Wanted
Monday and Tuesday shifts available

The sparkly blue wig was on the sign this time.

Luke's is open, and not quite overflowing with Gummi Bears.

Yet.

Leo had forgotten all about the party on Sunday, because he'd gotten caught up in researching haunted hotels. This book by Michael Enslin was particularly spooky.

Today he was wondering if he was too old for a night light.

Photo Hut is open.

Naminé was feeling oddly contemplative as she opened Café Fina on Monday morning. She had her Creatures of Nature workshop today and she was going to ask the instructor about really, truly getting a pet. Probably. If she didn't lose her nerve first.

The cheese-grater and the pepper-shaker were both in lovely moods. One of the plates asked politely if they couldn't let the others out of the closet.

"Are they still attempting to sing?" Naminé asked sweetly.

The plate nodded sheepishly.

"Then I'm afraid not."

Today's Specials Board read:

HAVE YOU A PET?
(Or more precisely, does a pet have you?)
We should love to hear about it
We might even give you dessert

Café Fina was now open.
