Book Haven: Monday 10-5 PM [7-9-07]

Lana opened the store today, feeling a little low, but also a bit excited about the start of new workshops. Though, they'd stuck her in a class about Redemption that she certainly hadn't signed up for and wouldn't let her out of.

Actually, she'd only be here until just before 5th period due to the workshops, so Millie had agreed to finish the rest of her shift for her.

She's here till just before 5th period and then she's off to class.

Johnny stopped in sometime around lunch ~~before they saw each other on the lawn~~.

"Brought you something just in case you haven't had lunch yet," He sat down on the counter a brown paper bag. "Grilled cheese sandwich and if you're a good girl and eat it all, you get the brownie that comes with it."

He was persistent, she had to give him that. And really, it was very kind of him to be so good about looking out for her. She smiled at him. "Thanks, Johnny."

As it turned out, she was pretty hungry, so she unwrapped the sandwich and took a bite. "Delicious. Did you bring anything for yourself? If not, there's cookies and stuff here."

"Nah," he said smiling at her, glad that she was eating. "I'm good cause I already ate." He looked around. He hasn't been in that many book stores. Usually he just bought his magazines off the stands. "Hey, do you sell magazines here?"

"Of course," Lana said with a smile. "And actually, there are magazines from all osrts of exotic places. Millie has pretty much anything you could want and then some."

"What about motocross? Supercross? Motorcycles in general?" He asked hopefully.

"Sure," Lana pointed him toward the right section. "There's even magazine type things about similar sports from other worlds."

Johnny gave her a great big smile, leaned over to kiss her cheek and sauntered off towards the section she indicated, "Sweeet! If you need me, Lana! I'll be right over here!"

She smiled at him and went back to eating the grilled cheese sandwich.

Gwynn was wandering aimlessly... and thus wandered into the book store.

Lana smiled at her. "Hello, Gwynn, right? How can I help you?"

Gwynn nodded. "Hi Lana. Uhm... I..." Gwynn looked embarrassed. "I am actually looking for something to keep my mind occupied so I do not make a fool out of myself by crying."

Lana immediately looked concerned. "What's wrong? A re you all right?"

"Conner left yesterday," she said quietly.

"Oh, of course," Lana said, cursing herself for not putting the two things together. "I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do? Jim's gone for a week or so and I'm at loose ends and a bit on the teary side myself, so..."

She leaned on the counter. "Did Jim have to go build his dream camp, too?"

"No, Jim's unpleasant father took him away," Lana said bitterly. "But it works out to him being gone anyway. Although, Jim will be back in a week. Hopefully."

"Do you need me to stab him for you?"

"Believe me, I'd love to say yes, but I'd better say no," Lana said a little wistfully. "But how can I help you? What type of books do you like?"

She's taking over for Lana in the afternoon.
