Displaced 3rd Floor Party!, The Beach, Friday Evening

As announced by the posters that had appeared around the dorms earlier in the week, there was a party on the beach this warm Friday evening. Or at least, there would be, once people arrived.

The setting was party-like enough, at least. Along with a lovingly modded Bod who'd been drafted in to carry stuff around, Kate had somehow managed to recruit Jeremy to her cause as well, and he'd graciously (because he was still feeling guilty over his doppelganger having made Bod feel bad) offered his financial help for the party. As a result, they had a couple of tables filled with an array of snacks and drinks (regular, Viking, and Egyptian), and the darkening evening was being lightened up by strings of colorful paper lanterns stretched between a few poles they'd brought to the beach for this specific purpose. There was no bonfire as of yet, but Kate wouldn't mind one if someone else wanted to make one their responsibility. She was intending to get a little too tipsy for that.

It was a party, that was what you did.

Ariel loved parties; Ariel loved the beach.

So parties on the beach earned extra double love. Of course she was there, ready to mingle and have fun and eat and drink and be merry.

Kate, in her summer dress and 'Liz Taylor as Cleopatra' inspired eye makeup, was obviously around. It was her damn party, after all. Or organized by her, at least.

It had been a rough week, but she looked happy enough to be here. Though that may have had something to do with the fact that she had a glass in her hand kind of permanently.

Hearing the party was now going to be held at the beach meant Percy couldn't really stay away. It would have been criminal and he was sure Poseidon would have given him the stink eye if he'd been around.

So, he'd dressed in a loose t-shirt and shorts and was barefoot when he arrived. He'd probably get a drink and end up near the water's edge at anytime.

Yeah, Jeremy had been roped into this, but he was glad that he had. He loved parties, and he had a grin on his face as he picked up something to drink while doing some of that mingling thing.

Luke hadn't been to the beach yet thanks to some personal issues with it, but he couldn't resist the call of a party. He had no intention of getting wet but he was out on the sand wearing only his swim trunks 'cause it was warm out and he wasn't pasty and gross unlike other people. Ignore the fact that his tan just made his scar look worse.

He picked a spot to chill and look out at the water, burying his feet in the sand and taking the occasional sip from a cup containing the funky Egyptian beer.

While Alexander wasn't certain he believed any floor should be better than any other, his floor was the third floor and far be it for him to not show his support! Besides, he felt an obligation to be social, anyway, even if it did drag him away from his research.

On the bright side, some of the new students might be around, and some of them might know something about what he was looking for. It was a possibility. Just as much of a possibility as the rest of his work had been.

Peter had had absolutely no interest in going to this party. Getting drunk with a bunch of ignorant teenagers was not his idea of a good time, but staying in his room and talking through the next bunch of essays with Val was.

And had been, right up until Val had gotten attacked by the misapprehension that she was clever or better than him. She'd snarked something about him being away from the party with oh so many friends, and he'd rolled his eyes and told her he was just being fashionably late because it would help him work the room better.

Now he was here, not dressed as anything other than himself, and with a winning smile pasted all over his face. See? He was totally here to have fun with you.

Or scope out any potential connections you might have to world leaders. One of those.

Oh, boy, a party, and here Butters wasn't even grounded, so he could go! He was a little nervous about the fact that, even if the posters said it was okay, that he was a second floor resident, so he had on a Viking hat just in case.

That didn't make him nearly as nervous as the alcohol did, though; he didn't know (though he probably should have) it was one of those kinds of parties. But at least since it was on the beach, he didn't have to worry about closets...

So even though Butters came to the party, he was soon wondering if he really should have, and was considering leaving. But he was already there, so he was torn.

Two years here made Chuck practically a third floor veteran.

Or, near enough that he felt like he couldn't go avoiding a party celebrating his own floor. He was snacking, and even considering that mingling thing.

Jocelyn had no idea what kids here wore to beach parties - beach parties themselves were out of her frame of reference, but she figured the movies couldn't be too wrong. A pretty summer dress (http://www.eshakti.com/clothimages/CL0022085.jpg) thrown over her bikini had to be mostly right. She didn't care if said dress showed off her tattoos and scars more than normal, and even if she normally would, it was far too hot to think about.

She found a drink and wandered through the party, ready to enjoy the beach and the people.

Sam was meant to do her webshow tonight, but she had time for a bit of partying. Of course, her definition of on-time was before Freddie said "two".

But, hey, beach party. How exactly was she meant to miss that?

Although Sam didn't live on the third floor, he'd decided to come out to the beach party anyway. It wasn't like all floors were banned if the signs were to be believed. He hadn't been a huge party animal in Seattle and he wasn't trying to fix that but what the hell, right?

So, he'd made his way out there in jeans and a t-shirt to keep cool. He'd left his feet bare and let the sand squish between his toes. It was different than the Seattle beaches.

He didn't plan on getting in the water but it did look nice as day turned to night and darkened the water. He could admit that.

Caroline didn't quite know what she was doing at a party, but she thought it would be weirder to think there was a party and she hadn't gone for at least a little while.

Plus, there was a beach and drinks, what more could she ask for?

As a third floor denizen, Annie was here and looking pretty happy about it. She wasn't used to getting invited to many parties, or... any parties, really, so the fact that she could go and she didn't think she'd get any weird looks for being there... yeah, she could get used to this.

Toby didn't have an opinion one way or another about the superiority of certain floors, but the idea of free food was more than enough reason for him to come out for this party thing and mingle a bit.

Marshall didn't know a lot of people yet; he'd gone out a couple of times, but for the most part he'd been keeping to himself. A party, even one for what was clearly an inferior floor, seemed just the solution, so he was at the beach in a t-shirt and shorts, ready to enjoy the evening and, hopefully, make some new friends.

Alex loved parties and when it was a party centering around her floor? There was no way she was going to miss out. And seeing that the party was on the beach, she went with a cute dress (http://s3.thisnext.com/media/230x230/Forever-21-Cute-Summer-Dresses_70361590.jpg) over a bathing suit. A perfect outfit for a beach party.

She was there, all for mingling and having some fun.

Food & Drink! [May 20]

There are two tables. The food one has a selection of basic moddable party snacks, along with figs, dates and grapes. The one with the drinks has a fairly large array of different tropical juices, but also bottles of mead from the Vikings, and even Egyptian beer and wine.

Bod's glass was actually half full of mead. He didn't know how much of it he would actually drink or how it would affect him but he had promised to get spontaneously intoxicated, hadn't he?

He decided it was his reward for carrying things and helping Kate set up for her party.

It hadn't taken long for Percy to end up here. He wasn't swimming yet but he was wading up to his ankles and just idly kicking water around. The waves lapped around his legs and he couldn't help but feel better than usual while he was in the ocean.

Whoo party. Like it said on the posters, everyone is welcome, regardless of floor of residence! And since it's in town (kinda), I suppose wandering townies etc. can wander by as well should they wish to send Kate into a panicky/defensive mood about how all the alcohol is from places with no drinking age, SO THERE.
