MCA Lobby - All Day Wednesday

After a quick trip to the sporting goods store, Rusty returned to his building. If he couldn't get his hands on a generator, he could at least do his best to keep his tenants warm and comfortable.

There were battery operated lanterns all over the lobby. In one corner was a pile of down sleeping bags. A propane stove on the counter boiled water for instant coffee, tea, or hot cocoa.

And a fireplace had randomly appeared in the lobby as well.

An unfamiliar boy slipped through the door. Perhaps his presence was unwelcome, but the unmistakable scent of hot soup and hot chocolate came with him. Or rather, the bag in his hand.

"Hello?"

A smile flickered over his face as he walked to the counter.

"From the Cafe," he explained, "and I brought moddable soup, considering how things are. Also, hot chocolate."

He went to shake his head before finally nodding.

"I suppose I could take one. But there's no charge for the soup. Anything you'd like?"

"I've got a a few things (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/3556170.html) on me, and I can go back for others."

"Also, hot chocolate."

A cardboard bowl of chicken noodle and a disposable cup of hot chocolate were put on the counter.

"That work?" he said with a smile, glad people were receptive to this whole thing.

"Liir," he provided.

"And yourself? I'm sorry if I'm unfamiliar; I've never actually been here before."

"Good day to you, then, Mr. Ryan. I don't really know much of anyone here," he said, "but I used to. She's gone home at the moment, though."

What does one say to someone who rents apartments.

"A very nice building indeed."

...he'd tried.

Mina came down to the lobby, bundled up a bit, and instantly headed to where the stove sat.

"I suppose I could use a cup of tea," she said.

"This is the second instance in a week of this modern technology failing," Mina said. "It seems rather troublesome."

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I was referring to the chaos with the phones," Mina said. "I suppose you are right, it is actually three instances."

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
"I believe the phones were redirecting messages," Mina said. "I received many that were not intended for me."

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"If you do, sir, please take care that such was probably not intended for your ears," Mina said.

[identity profile] funnyways.livejournal.com 2009-01-22 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
"But forgive me for rattling on," Mina said. "How are you, sir?"
