The Beach, Thursday Morning
Cold. Ghanima let the sand slide through her fingers in fascination. It never ceased to amaze her, the ocean, despite so many images of it in her Other Memory. Sand should only be cold at night, the fierce freezing cold of the deep desert at midnight. During the day, it ought to be hot, burning the hand that dared touch it.
Grinning, she removed her shoes and set them off to the side, enjoying the feel of sand again. Taking a deep breath, she centered herself, allowing her mind to empty as she began moving through the basic forms of the Weirding Way. Anyone who was walking by would see a flickering as Ghanima vanished and reappeared in various spots around the beach, kicking and twirling her way along the sand as she danced with the waves.

Brushing the hair out of her eyes, she tossed a grin over her shoulder at the other presence she had sensed. "Morning."

She paused upon seeing a woman do something. Tai Chi maybe? She didn'y really know, but it looked interesting so she hung back, just watching.

Executing the final move which had let Mohiam win (and left her Grandmother sprawled in an undignified heap), Ghani shook her hair free from her ponytail and looked over at the other woman. "I see I'm not the only one who was going stir-crazy today. Is the beach always this popular in winter?"

She studied the newcomer steadily. "At least, I'm assuming you aren't a student."

"And you're a teacher. How the hell do you stay sane with that crap?"

"Although I'm beginning to think the only think keeping me sane is the sheer amount of coffee and tea I drink. It keeps me too buzzed to think too hard about it."
