Trooper Station, Monday
After she had been handwavily shown where the station was, Renee had no trouble finding it again today.
Of course, this also meant she'd have to do something with her desk.
She sighed and started shifting through paperwork instead. Nice and distracting.

"Diane, it is 9:05 AM, Monday, November 19th 2007. 42 degreed outside with a slight chance of rain if you are to believe the weather report. Had two cups of coffee at the perk before getting a dozen donuts at J'GOBs. Yes, I know that many would consider that to be a waste of time but I find that Jeff's seems to be more on the ball when it comes to pastries."
Dale looked like he was about to babble onward when he noticed the new member of the station at her desk. "Excuse me Diane, but I'll have to get back to you on that later as I must greet our new member to the police force."
He clicked off his recorder and immediately thrust his hand out toward Renee.
"Detective Montoya? Special Agent Dale Cooper. Welcome aboard."

"Very nice of him," She replied vaguely.

If there was an awkward pause after Renee's last answer, Dale seemed to take it in stride as he produced the box of donuts fro J'GOBs.
"Donut? It's from our local bakery. Best thing next to heaven itself."

She snagged a donut, knowing that they'd probably gone quickly if they were as good as he said. "Thank you." She took a bite. And sighed happily. "You'll have to tell me where this place is."

"If you think that's good? You'll need to check the local coffee house as well. And if you'll excuse the language, it's the best damn cup of coffee you'll ever have."

Dale might be a tad eager looking. Like a kid waiting to hear his favorite story.

"We have a cadre of meta human criminals and a group of costumed people who fight them," She told him dryly. "Though, technically the GCPD doesn't recognize any of the heroes exist."

She stood up, adjusting her holster slightly. "When will you be taking me for this best damn coffee ever?"

At least her coworkers were okay here. This island had that going for it so far.
