Might still have a bit of a hangover from the weekend. so she was quietly working on some nonsense paper work and drinking a lot of coffee.

And the bad stuff too.

Upon passing Renee's desk, Dale placed a bottle of water and some Alka-Seltzer. "Busy weekend?"

Renee, who had not been sleeping, cracked an eye open to look at what he put on her desk.

She grunted, opening the Alka-Seltzer and dropping it in the water.

Not human yet, damn it.

"More H2O and less coffee would probably do you better," Dale said cheerfully as he sat down at his desk. "And that would be the only time I'd suggest something other to drink than coffee."

"If you didn't add that-" Renee finally said, downing the fizzy water at an alarming speed. "--I'd say it wasn't really you."

"Well... for a bit over this weekend I very much wasn't myself," Dale said looking uncomfortable. "In fact I need to apologize to the sheriff the next time I see him."

Renee set the glass down--gently, sound wasn't her friend still.

"Oh? Do we need to add to the emergency plan?"

"I don't think so," Dale replied. "As it seems a good deal of chocolate and a pint of Ben and Jerry's seemed to take care of the issue."

That got even more of a look.

"What was wrong?"

"Just felt overwhelmed along with some stomach cramps," Dale replied. "I also didn't fit into my suit very well so I had to come to work in... sweat pants."

"And you wanted chocolate?"

Dale shifted slightly in his chair looking uncomfortable at remembering the weekend. "Yes. However yesterday all symptoms seemed to have disappeared."

"Uh-huh." This was just too much to let go. Especially since she wasn't about to talk about all of her weekend. "Went to the mainland for some shopping. Did you also get moody?"

"I got a little emotional when I asked the sheriff if I could leave early," Dale said shortly as he did not like remembering himself acting that way. "On the whole I was being somewhat irrational."

"Sounds like it was that time of the month for you." She grinned a little. "If you were a woman."

"I admit that the similarities are there but the lack of female body parts would not make that possible," Dale stated firmly.

Though that probably would explain why his pectoral muscles were tender that day.

"This place is pretty odd," She said, holding up a folder about some time when men turned into women.

"And what is that exactly?" Dale said squinting at the folder.

"Some weekend where the guys were women." She tossed it over to his desk. "You never read it?"

"No I did not," Dale said looking disappointed. "I must have missed that file. It would explain some of the issues over the weekend but I wasn't here when this happened."

Renee chuckled. "Then you were lucky. I have to wonder what you would look like as a woman, though."

"Well if the cyclical nature of some these events are accurate you'll probably see that sooner or later," Dale replied. "However now that you've brought this to my attention I'll probably need to get a stock of women's suits in a variety of sizes as well as supportive undergarments for just such an occasion."

"Just get a sports bra," Renee said, standing up to get some water. "Easier than guessing a cup size."

"Duly noted," Dale replied. "I should probably get enough for the Sheriff and the troopers as well. Should we also make the same accords if you switch gender as well?"

Dale cocked his head to the side. "And men becoming women would?"

She sighed. "Okay, it has a chance, but I'd rather not think of myself as a guy."

"Well I can only imagine why," Dale said with smirk. "I'd rather not think of myself as a woman so I guess that makes us all in the same boat."

Renee turned to look at Ralph. "We can plan for the troopers, at least."

"Well there was that one weekend where they were wearing mini-skirts," Dale replied. "That would be the same weekend I became a hot dog."

"I was singing a jingle from a commercial and... well I was a hot dog. With mustard and ketchup."

"Well there's less of a chance of being eaten if you turn into a woman."

It was a sign she needed to spend time away from Ghani and Faith that she almost made a comment about that.

"You were about to say something else?" Dale asked raising an eyebrow at Renee.

She shook her head. "Nothing that needed to be said." And not around Cooper, that was for certain.

"If you say so," Dale replied. "So what did you do this weekend?"

"Went to the mainland for some shopping," She said, leaning back in her chair, daring him to say it was a lie.

Dale looked curiously at Renee. "Just shopping?"

"And dancing, got any other questions about my off time?"

"Just curious," Dale said holding up his hands to show he wasn't trying to be pushy. "Not everyone here has a social life."

Sometime after her class, there was a rather unrepentant blonde trying to sneak in with coffee, bagels, and some nice packets of tea.

Ghani easily dodged the missile and placed her offerings on the desk with a grin. "No you don't. Besides, I didn't make you drink. You can't blame me for this."

"I can." Renee was certain she could somehow. "And the damn Hello Kitty didn't help either."

"Can't," she replied simply, nudging a bagel at Renee and smiling serenely. "But you can blame Hello Kitty if you like, I've already sent it off to Leto."

Renee sighed and took the bagel. "That fast, huh? When do you think you'll get a response?"

"I anticipate his screams of pain or hysterical laughter sometime this week," she replied. "With Leto, I have an equal chance of both reactions."
